Mines not horrid, but I suggest those with low battery %'s to drain their batteries completely and fully recharge them (like 12 hour recharge).

It's probably due to your battery holding a charge too long. Imagine a pool on a really really really global-warming-like day. A full pool is a full charge. Eventually, you drain a small amount of battery over time, thusly the sun is evaporating your water.

Even when you're plugged in, this charge fades, like water in a hot pool.

So drain the pool completely and fill it with cold water, or in this case, a fresh charge!

Here's my current MacBook battery stats. It's been fluctuating from 98% - 94% since I got it.

My iBook didn't do this. It stayed at 100% for a long time, then dropped one day, after about 350 cycles) to 98%, then awhile after that it dropped to 83%, then 66%.

Can I BTT this old thread of mine? Well, i can - but don't throw things at me!

I have an appointment at the genius bar for another reason tomorrow and thought i should check my battery "stuff". I had to find this thread to remember back a year.

I haven't done that many cycles since - but the numbers still seem LOW for the amount.

Should i bring it up or not???

Here is today's Coconut info, and below is last years.

Thanks for any input!

Hmmmm, i don't run on battery often - an my computer reported 4 load cycles when it was new (17" MBP bought at Apple Store).

I've adjusted Coconut to have the right numbers for the 17", and I calibrated it (drain to self-sleep, slept all night, full charge in am) 2 days ago. That was the 2nd time i'd done that.

It started good.... and I did apply the battery update, what the heck - i wasn't have problems, but figured "they" told me to, i'd do it.

So i'm curious if anyone has around the 20-load cycle mark and what your battery health looks like.

I'm fairly new at this, and got worried when I heard about battery health!
Have a look at mine, I don't think it's that good, is it?
And what could I do to make it better? =o

You can't really do anything to make it better; just use you're battery like you need to. If it craps out there would have been nothing you could have done.

Batteries' way of losing capacity varies. Your's look on target.

I have a MacBook, sorry. I just thought it would be fun to tell you all I have 79 cycles after 23 months and my health is 100%.

Apple just replaced my battery for free, because in the last month the capacity took a nose dive south almost instantly. Everyday it seemed to drop 1-2% no matter what I did. The battery was less than a year old and had 40 cycles on it.

I had to get my original battery replaced under warranty (only held a charge for 30 min after 50 cycles). the new one now has 35 cycles at 95% health (had 98% when I first got it)
