What are you talking about it's already a PR disaster. Trust me they are working overtime trying to figure out how to spin it.
On the Website when you try to buy a watch it will tell you estimated delivery and now also states unavailable for local pickup (don't know if it said that before).

Right because Apple certainly only wants to sell it to a handful of faithful customers instead of to everyone.
Would you be extremely mad at Apple if Apple lied to us before, and really did have like 50 watches available at each store? And the people in line tonight would get one before you? Angela would just say, 'We didn't want those who stood in line to be disappointed!'
I feel like the campers are now at home and shamed from being told there are no watches available

Its a watch not a cellular capable device. Why would you expect AT&T to carry the watch at all?
Well, I imagine almost every store will have them for replacement purposes. But not to sell.
At least one person will find a random pic online of an apple watch and claim to have gotten it in store in order to save face.
Hey I have a question for you. My sport is coming today and I hate hate hate the look of it after trying it on so I ordered another SS version but it will come in June
Do you think there is a chance I can walk to the store with that Sport unopened and ask if they have any SS to swap? Please let me know if it is possible. I am in Seattle if that matters.

I just wanted to open it the min I got the package. Actually the store is 2 blocks from my work so I think I will just walk over there after I get it and if they say no then I can open it
