...cause I just did. My dog distracted me.

Sigh :/

No. But it's been trying to commit suicide like no other phone I've ever owned.

OR

It's trying to kill me. It's given me a few near heart attacks.

It's tried to jump out of my hands at least three times already

I did damage my iPhone 5 like that though. I like rest my phones on soft objects. I placed it (line an idiot) on my sons blankey. He came along and grabbed it and down went my iPhone hitting the tiles and getting damaged in the same place as yours. :(

Likely it had a fault with the camera (dust) so I got a new one from Apple :D

----------

I dropped my Silver 32 GB Verizon 5S plenty of times already.

No big deal. Before it's time to sell, I'll go to the Apple store and make up a lame excuse on how the speaker or mic are acting up. In less than 10 minutes, I'll walk out with a brand new looking 5S.

Been there, done that about 10 times. Works every time.

Hey Apple, if you're reading this, I just want you to know that I love exploiting your system. Sue me.

It's people like you who will **** it up for the rest of us who have a legitimate fault with our phones. They're already taking steps in that direction.

Yep and I freaked out. Now I can't stop staring at it. Gets bigger every time I look:cool:

Lol, best post in this thread by far. I do the exact same thing...although I didnt this year bc I sold my 5 as unlocked and jailbroken which is worth a lot more then a brand new phone. (on craigslist)

If anything, I'm helping out chumps like you get your money's worth by getting a new looking phone.

You should be thanking me.

Nah, I don't need help because I take care of my stuff.

Use the iPhone (naked).

Take care of it.

Sell it like new.

Sleep easy.

You just contradicted yourself in your own post. Enough said. I can see who I'm dealing with.

Enlighten me. How did I contradict myself?

My 5S lives in a case when I'm out, then goes naked at home... :) I dropped it.. Once.. When getting up out of bed. Luckily it was fine... Space Grey hasnt attracted any scratches or dings compared to the iPhone 5 black... That was actually what put me off buying the 5

I didn't want an argument to be started, sorry for all that.

I'm just glad I have an iPhone, if I want a new one, I'll just sell it unlocked and buy a new one out of pocket with that. I'm not looking to make money.

Someone had started a thread about their iphone being stolen in person...

...cause I just did. My dog distracted me.

Sigh :/

Sorry to hear that! However, if you would have had a "case" on your phone, it would have been saved. Sometimes I think that those who don't use cases are more concerned with showing off / others (general public) that they have upgraded to the latest iPhone instead of protecting their investment. Get a case and you will not see the blimishes that have scarred your new iPhone. I use the the over priced apple leather case and some leather pouches.

Oh I comprehend just fine pal. Just because you don't get caught doesn't mean its right.

Also, you like to talk about how you're gaming the system legally. So are the companies who supposedly charge you too much for the devices. There isn't anything illegal about what they're doing either.

Yet you see it perfectly acceptable to use it as an excuse for why you make it more difficult for those who actually HAVE an issue, but are refused.

Whatever helps you sleep at night.

To be fair (not that I'm condoning anything; just playing Devil's advocate), isn't that exactly the same logic Apple uses to justify their tax avoidance?

People in this very forum were falling over themselves to excuse Apple for that (seriously; check out the threads when Tim Cook was summoned), saying that anybody would exploit whatever legal options are open to them to gain an advantage? In other words: "don't hate the player; hate the game".

I wonder if Apple does more harm by shifting their profits to subsidiaries in low-tax countries or states than this guy does by getting his iPhone replaced.

The only thing this guy is guilty of is lying; which isn't a crime. I suppose that's similar to the way Apple says all of their iTunes purchases throughout the whole of the EU happen in Ireland.

Anyway, to the OP: Next time, buy AppleCare+. 2 incidents of accidental damage covered for an excess charge (although I wouldn't take it in for a small dink like that)

I'm no going to comfort you, I'm going to laugh at you. Hahahahahahaha now go buy a case.

I didn't opt in for the case cause it's a gold edition...was I in the wrong?
What do you think? You're the one with the tears in your beer because you dropped and damaged your phone.

If it bothers you too much, take it and see if apple will replace the casing or replace the phone on goodwill. Unless you have the screen interlace or Compass problem then you can get it swapped!.
No he won't get it swapped. He dropped his phone so no expectation of "fixing" something the drop could of caused. Now if he had an issue that a drop could not cause, by all means they should replace it.

Hey Apple, if you're reading this, I just want you to know that I love exploiting your system. Sue me.
Can't wait till next time when they tell you NO and you come here crying how apple sucks and won't replace your phone. People like you are whats wrong with our society. Take no responsibility for their own negligence and expect others to fix things for them. Sad.

Morality? - Right. Because the crap carriers and manufacturers pull on us year after year is soooooooooooooooooooooooooo incredibly moral.
Yep, the problem.

Won't even take the time to respond to any of your responses. You're one of "those" people and don't feel I need to waste my time with you.

LOL you guys are funny. I didn't think you could walk in there and do that. I dont think I would be able to. Ive done some questionable things but I can't seem to mislead properly and feel good about it.

Well looking at the OP's picture, I'd say it's not too late to put the Apple leather case on it and you shouldn't see the damage.

Also, it looks like the phone is silver with gold paint (which I guess it is but slightly surprising it looks so silver - wonder if you can scratch all the gold off?)

Totally right? That's what's bothering me lol. But oh well. To another poster, it's not that i want to show off, it's just I felt the phone is more natural without the case (again, why get a gold just to cover it up, I could have gotten space grey if wanted to do that) And if I do get my phone damaged to the extent the screen breaks, then yeah I'll take it in for a replacement.

Also, I've seen cases that do scratch the phone...I don't know how...****ing incase.

Hilarious, remember seeing that on vine.

No, actually there isn't.

(1) I never promoted theft
(2) I'm exploiting the system within legal limits

Therefore, I'm not doing anything illegal. It may not be ethical, but it's legal. Therefore, it's not theft.

If you think this is theft, then you're clueless.

You are claiming a warranty repair for something you know isn't broken, based on a complaint that is plausibly true but neither provable nor disprovable. That's borderline, at best.

Would you tell an employer you do this? A spouse? A potential business partner?

So you are doing it for personal financial gain.

I could care less what you actually do but don't try to justify it, you're a psychopath.
