Last night after downloading 2.0, my Touch froze on Tap Tap Revenge, and I had to restart the Touch. Today when starting up reQall, the Touch immediately shut down to the little silver apple screen, and then started up again.

Anyone else notice this kind of stuff?

I've never once had my Touch even hiccup prior to 2.0.

Same problems here. Most of my problems are with updating apps and trying to listen to the radio with Pandora and AOL radio.

I have a feeling 2.1 will be released within the month.

On a somewhat related note, it seems like some of the applications don't run very well. I've been goofing around with the free game Aurora Feint, and at times it's really jerky. This might just be because it hasn't been fine tuned yet, or it might be because 2.0 itself isn't quite running as well as it should be yet.

I'm sure it will get better--the OS and the apps will all go through revisions as things get ironed out.

I find that under 2.0 my touch would from time to time freeze for approx. 10-20 secs. on certain apps, but would unfreeze itself and then be fine.

I have a feeling they will be having a 2.0.1 maintenance release soon, but it also comes down to the individual developers as well. For instance the NYTimes app had an update today and one of the fixes was for performance/reliability.

I just had to restore my iPod from a glitch in the Facebook app. I love the fact that you can get free stuff from the App Store but I would rather use a stable release such as 1.1.4 if it means that my iPod won't be restarting every other hour.

I've also had problems with Apps closing/crashing etc...It seems to be worse when I jump from App to App, trying them out. Sometimes the Ipod will go to the Apple Logo startup page, other times it will crash back to the home screen. I'm sure that it will get better as the developers get feedback on problems.

My 32GB one crashes like crazy. I think that it's just all the apps. It works great other times, though. I have a feeling that 2.0.1 will be out within a few weeks, if I know apple. ;) Until then, I can deal with it. ;)

Samesies, but on diff apps.

Forgive me for asking a stupid question but why is everyone assuming this is a firmware problem? Reading through this thread most of the problems seem to be related to third party applications. Welcome to the world of an open(ish) platform...

My touch has crashed after upgrading to 2.0 when I was surfing with Safari and completely froze when I was listening to music - both Apple applications.

Volume

my iPod touch 32GB has just had 2.0 installed I have had no problems with crashes etc but I have just found out that the volume control does not work. It is set on full and I cannot change it. Has anyone else got this problem since changing to 2.0 or could this be somethin else. I have tried changing settings like volume limit etc.

Other way around for me - with jailbroken 1.1.4 I was crashing at least once a day. With 2.0 on the other hand, even though I've only had it for about ten hours, it's been perfect :D

Has anyone here paid the $9.95 for the official firmware? If so, do you also experience the random reboots?

totally-- I've had multiple crashes, and numerous apps are causing me to reboot or crash.

Worst ones so far have been AIM, iFob, and some random freebies that have proven to be useless.

I hope they can tidy up these issues. I'll be on Safari and it crashes big time.

As others have said, on this thread, 2.0 is very unstable

My Touch has locked up 3 times today (the screen with the Apple on it), while trying out different games (paid and/or free ones) - I have not been able to associate the problem with any specific game, but I am continuing to try..... I cannot wait for the updates - it is nice to have games, and other apps, but I miss the stability of pre-2.0.....
