I don't want to lose Google Maps and YouTube native apps. Period.

If Google doesn't have them ready to go in the App Store on release date, I'm not going to upgrade until they do.

Anyone else feel this way? This is the first iOS release I'm completely unexcited about, because Apple has taken away features. I believe this is also the first time they do that.

No, I definitely won't wait - I'm already on the beta.

The YouTube app is no major loss for me, it works perfectly in Safari. And I'm sure Google will release the stand-alone app soon (with lots of ads).

And the maps, I don't feel they are any worse now than before. I even gain a free turn-by-turn navigation app in the process. The only thing missing is StreetView, which I've never ever used on the iPhone (only from my Mac).

I put a youtube App icon that links me to m.youtube like 2 years ago. HD is so much better and viewing on the mobile site has sadly been better for years.

Maps, anything is an upgrade over what the current maps is, honestly. Google will put maps on there soon.

I will def upgrade, hoping iOS6 is more polished than iOS5, because iOS5 came out and it was def buggy and had the battery drains.

Also, if I keep my 4S, I can upgrade to 6 and jailbreak if I choose too since it will be ready day one from what I am hearing.

I don't see a reason not to upgrade, Google Maps will be avail soon, and apple will def push updates to Maps often. Siri is better, and basically everything is more polished. This technically is like 5.5 instead of 6.0, but I'll take it

I'll be waiting until the 14th to download the GM (if in fact it comes out on the 12th). I won't have a choice, I'm away on a trip until then. Looking forward to iOS 6.

If those two apps are that important, then wait.
Personally I've been using iOS6 for a few months and don't care to go back to iOS5. YouTube app was mediocre, and Apple Maps is looking much better than Google Maps.

I thought Apple's licence was ending, so it could be that Google Maps won't work even if you don't upgrade (particularly since it needs to access Google's database). I am sure Google will come up with an alternative app with businesses paying to be displayed on the map. That wouldn't bother me, and having two map programs would be fine.

I'm sure Google have their YouTube app ready or will do by next week. I'll be updating straight away regardless.

It should go without saying that everyone who has not upgraded to ios 6 wont lose access to maps.

No reason to wait.

Youtube access doesn't change and Maps to me look nicer. I'm excited to see a bunch of little changes to make my experience better.

Honestly I'll upgrade to version 6 only because Siri isn't available in my language currently. Otherwise, I wouldn't have good reasons to lose my jailbreak.

What do you mean? Is the way I full screen videos in Safari by pressing the full screen arrows improper?

Would you visit Youtube before being such pedantic? ImageUploadedByTapatalk1347039723.802965.jpg

im sure come keynote day, google will push out a youtube app.
i would go for it, i was using a beta, and its such a nice upgrade from ios 5. made my iphone 4, work even better then when it was on iOS 5, was faster battery was better.

two apps shouldn't be a reason to stay

I am all for iOS 6. Like others, maps is great and beta 4 has been very stable on my phone. I like the maps better than navigon in the sense that's it has full screen and ties in beautifully with iOS. My 4s has better battery life as well. Cannot wait for the new iPhone!

I'll update my iPad, get familiar with the new maps, and see if I'll update my iPhone based on it. Maps really is a dealbreaker on my mobile phone; I use both transit and streetview from time to time, and maps on daily basis.

Update to released version the day it will be out and the servers will be able to deliver. I run the betas and quite happy with; nothing really I miss. For my iPhone I need to wait until my company gives green light due to Mobile device management. Can take a week longer.

I'm waiting for jailbreak and to see how Apple's maps turns out and/or if google maps w/ street view becomes available as a standalone app

mostly waiting for untethered jailbreak
