It's still an issue with iOS and watchOS 26.6. Sadly that means S6-8 watches will likely never have this fixed.

At this point, I don't think they're doing anything but security patching for 26.x. Among the ones I checked, they didn't even update the carrier profiles or baseband firmwares in iOS 26.6, which is rare for an x.y release.
Yesterday I updated my 15 Pro Max and my series 11 to 26.6, last night I tried to enable sleep focus and this morning the watch wasn’t showing me any notifications at all, while the phone had several.

So yeah, I can confirm that they still haven’t fixed this.

It’s really ridiculous for a company like Apple.

I am having this issue too, since a little while. Not fixed with 26.6, of course.

The thing is, I have two Apple Watches, an Ultra 1 and a S10, and they are both affected by this bug. Either I am extremely unlucky, or more likely the bug is actually linked to iOS 26.x not pushing the notifications to the watch.
That makes me hopeful that it will someday get fixed even if the watch isn't updated to watchOS 27 (which will be the case for my Ultra 1).

I have also noticed that sleep focus isn't the only mode affected, I see the same behavior with "do not disturb" or "reduce notifications" modes.

I've just sent another feedback, but at this point I'm starting to wonder if they'll ever fix it. I'm really surprised they haven't noticed something so obvious and important.

This is beyond infuriating. Do they even use their products?
This bug made me switch to Samsung, sadly. And I say sadly because I was way deep into the ecosystem and had to replace everything with their Android equivalents.
But guess what. Focuses work as intended. So do other things, which iOS 26 managed to break (for me it was alarms not going off, incoming call ringtone cutting off, contact posters not showing, call drops, and the list goes on).
I've been Apple all my adult life; but lately it seems they've lost that quality control that made them outshine every other alternative.
