Anyone else irked by the rumor or smaller batteries in the iPhone 6s/ 6s Plus?

Ok I may be crazy, but I had thought that the "6s" that they had put together was with "some" iPhone 6 parts as well?

How do we know the battery in that phone isn't from the iPhone 6?

We don't. Just another rumor. But as we get closer to introduction day, rumors can tighten up into fact.

I'm not too irked. They put a smaller battery in the iPad Air 2 and I still get over a 24 hours of usage with days of stand by. Battery capacity isn't everything. If I get my 6s+ and it only gets 4 hours of screen on time like other flagship phones on rivaling platforms, then I'll be irked.

I charge every night so I never see 0% anyway. Because of this I'd prefer a smaller and lighter phone over one with a bigger battery.

People have always said things like "just add an extra millimetre so you can fit a bigger battery in". What they're forgetting is the phone is only 6.9mm big anyway. 1mm is 15% fatter, and given an even/uniform weight distribution, it would also make the phone 15% heavier too putting the iPhone 6 at 148g (which would be the heaviest iPhone ever) and the 6+ at almost 200g. No thanks!

To note, the iPhone 5 is 112g.

iPhone's have never had less battery life than their predecessor, in fact they have always improved battery life. Can't wait for the 6S, it will be a great phone, and if keeping with tradition, my predicion for the battery life would be something like:

I'm not jumping to conclusions just yet. We'll find out on the 12th. Apple has done this before in a sense. Addition by way of subtraction. Taking something away and saying its an improvement. The latest is promoting the retina Macbook's single port as an improvement.

It would be a total deal breaker for me,
apples whole direction with the phone is screwed up, too thin, its bending, not enough battery life. I don't give a crap about thinness, i want a useable device that i don't need to carry around additional batteries for.

The phone is in danger of becoming as useless as the watch.
Lets also hope iOS 9 is not the disaster iOS8 is too.

thats a very narrow point of view... most people just don't use those ports all at once, but the rMB is certainly an improvement over the MBA.

If they had two USB-C ports then maybe, but one? Can't even charge and use an accessory at the same time. Stupid.

Use the multi adapters - is it as stupid as not being able to run ethernet and VGA at the same time for the MBA? or that the MBA cant display 1080P or that the MBA also needs an adapter for HDMI? or that the MBA doesn't have multi purpose adapters at all, you would have to carry multiple...

Agree 100%. I would not mind the phone getting a thicker for the sake of structural integrity. Just because Apple CAN make it thinner is no reason to keep doing it.

From the reviews I've seen, chatter on the interwebs what was posted here through the months, I'd say the complaint against a single usb port that is also the power port is not a narrow view.

I don't want to further derail this thread, but suffice it to say I used that as an example of apple removing something and calling it an improvement.

I very well could have mentioned the new MacPro and its lack of drive bays as another example.

Symptoms seem more like anxiety than a bona fide case of the irks.

This would go off topic too far as you say, so i will simply end with most of the comments around "ports" are made by existing MBA owners defending "their" product by putting down another using an argument that for most has no merit.. (IMO)

I predict that the S version of the 6 and 6+ will have about the same battery life as the current version which is more than enough for most of the people using it. My 6+ has the best battery of any iPhone I have ever had and I am not going to be "irked"

6+ has plenty of battery life, I'd be quite upset since I'm going to buy the 4.7'' model
Battery life on iPhone 6 is good, but not great and 6S is going to give the provide the same experience

Apple has a pretty good track record for iOS battery performance, so I'm not concerned at the moment. If the spec is accurate, the decrease is fairly insignificant, and I’ve personally experienced what a difference software optimization can do for battery performance.

I don’t know what they did to 8.4, but my Air2’s battery life has noticeably improved since then. Right now I’m at 1 hour and 50 minutes of usage and still at 90%, using about 40% brightness, which is more than bright enough for me indoors.

iOS 9 is expected to add an extra hour of battery life and up to three with their new power saving feature. Add a more powerful & power-efficient processor to the 6S equation and I think battery will likely be just fine.

Not bothersome at all, Apple constantly changes mAH spec in their batteries generation to generation depending on a variety factors.

I just really hope this means an upcoming OLED display

Two thoughts... first, it's a rumor, so let's wait and see what the actual situation is before getting all wound up about it... and secondly, I am confident that if the rumors are true, Apple has this under control...
