You poor MBP waiters are getting as bad as we Mac Pro waiting for Penryn folks were. Good luck! Hope the wait is worth it. It sure was for the Mac Pro waiting club.

I lost it and just ordered my mbp, don't care anymore about the possibility there might be a new mbp within weeks... One of the reasons was that even though there might be a new mbpo in a month I'd still have to wait pritty long for it because there wouldn't be (enough) stock?

Nope haven't cracked in buying a current MBP. But I do check the forums a few times a day when I do get the chance.

I just hope its refreshed and released before March, would like to get the laptop by that time. Here's to hopeing it comes out very soon!

I've ordered a Mac Pro with the 8800 card, i really dont want to have to buy it. But i hope that Apple refresh the macbook pro before they ship the MP so i can change my order!

I'm getting tired of waiting though, almost picked up the phone to change my order just an hour ago!

LOL I'm the same as you Nick. I've been waiting since last August for an update and I'm still waiting. I'm determined to not crack because a 2.4GHz will cost me more than a 2.5GHz will in a month or so.

I couldn't wait...I grabbed a New Imac and the top of the line Macbook Air..I just hope the SSD upgrade was worth it for $3200 bucks ...To think I dumped $4700 bucks at the Apple Stoire but love 1/2 of my new treat....these iMac's are sweeet!

I got the money saved now ready to buy a top of the range MBP this will be my first mac ill be using it to produce electronic music however since oct'07 apple have switched from the reliable texas instruments firewire chips to the cheaper (half the price) Agere firewire chips in their macbook pros , now folk with RME/MOTU/M-audio/Presonus to name a few audio devices are having all types of problems..
As this is a hardware issue no amount of new drivers are going to fix this problem.
So im waiting to see what apple are going to do about this , im not spending a fortune on a 'PRO' mac with a crap firewire chip...

if it wasnt for this issue id of ordered a 2.6GHZ/4GB ram/200GB(7200) version today......

Just hang on in there guys lol, I was in your situation before But the one/two weeks of extra waiting for the update is nothing copared to that sting when you purchase it and after 14 days they update them I almost bought mine like that and then bam, 4Gb RAM support for the MB, I was one happy bucket of flowers :-D

I nearly cracked but I sorted myself out by buying a PS3 with pro and call of duty 4! I've been waiting since september to get my mbp but after initially going mental after mwsf i've calmed down. I've now decided that if the case doesn't get a complete overhaul in the next upgrade I will wait to may/june and get it then. I don't see the point in forking out £1700 for a laptop that is out of date within weeks. I know some of you on here say 'I don't care if there is an update' or 'i'm happy ordering one now' but you guys are seriously just kidding yourselves!!! You'd be an absolute goon not to think maybe I should of waited if you didn't desperatelyneed a mac now.

The reason I WANT a case re-design is after seeing plenty of people with bent up cd slots where they have been resting their wrists. After 4ish years with that case you'd think they'd have sorted the problems out! AAAAAND I know some of you will now say 'yeh but they new case will have problems because it's new' but I say Apple should hopefully learn from it's mistakes and it's recent shoddy products and produce a better quality mbp for all!

Untill then I'll be enjoying mgs4, gta4 and gran tourismo to stop me from blowing my top!

I had a Powerbook G4 in for repair at Apple now for a few weeks and finally I got a call and they said it can't be fixed. It's still under the warranty so they are giving me a new 17" MBP for free. I hope it's not made obsolete by Apple in a few weeks.

I am also waiting, but I have a great laptop right now (Acer Ferrari 1000) so I am not going to crack. But I am thinking of getting the MBA, just for a couple of weeks and then selling it again. And then buying a new MBP after that.

Yes I'm sure once the MBPs come out it will actually stop functioning. I had a 12" Powerbook, when they discontinued them, it just stopped booting up.
