Anyone else PO'd at the people who were able to pre-order and have a reservation?

Hey don't blame me. I didn't want a reservation but when I tried to preorder via the iPhone app Apple practically forced it on me. I hit the "cancel" button but too late -- I already rec'd a reservation confirmation. Later that day I did get my preorder.

I did not cancel my reservation just as a back up. I won't p/u if everything goes as planned. It will go back into the general pool as soon as my preorder arrives.

Honestly, it was more than easy to get a reservation via the iPhone app (assuming you had an iPhone, which I am given the forum).

If you have a pre-order shipping for delivery on the 24th AND you have confirmation that it was shipped......Please cancel your reservation or give your reservation to somebody who was not as lucky as you. Unless you need more than one for your family plan. At least it frees up some stock for others.

All the forums (including this one) have a multiple people who did pre-order and reservations. I understand wanting it on release day, but others were not as lucky due to Att server issues.

Well to let you know I'm one of those people. The reason I have a pre-order and a reservation is that when I initially made a reservation I did not get an email confirming my reservation. With all the issues that were going on that day I didn't want to take a chance so I ended up pre-ordering. I had to try all day to get throught as well.

I got an email reminder today about my reservation. When I get home I'm going to cancel the reservation. So don't be quick to judge why someone has a pre-order and a reservation.

Admittedly, I was one of those people who preordered online and preordered in the store - only because I couldn't get through. Anyway, Apple bumped up my July 2nd order to June 24th. Which was awesome.

I honestly don't know if a "transferred" reservation would work. But if it does, and someone in Cincinnati area needs one I have one at the Kenwood Town Centre if someone wants to try to "take" it from me.

I guess my teachings have led me to believe firmly that everything happens for a reason.

I tried probably 10 times online at apple.com to no avail. Now, I am going to be showing up around 12-1 a.m. at AT&T on launch day. Being envious or "pissed" doesn't put a order in my mailbox. In only tarnishes my spirit. Be happy for those who were fortunate, for I wouldn't be thrilled if they were dedicating threads due to their anger for me.

In the end, everyone who wants an iPhone 4 will get one. Some sooner than others. These are the facts of life.

She responded with "that's awesome thanks for calling, let me look up your info". She found my reservation and then informed me that she couldn't cancel it.

She said it would just expire at the end of the day when I didn't come to pick it up.

I am sorry for everyone who wasn't able to pre-order. I feel terrible that I will have one sitting with my name on it in the store that is just going to sit there while someone who stands in line for hours will be turned away without one.

I sold my Apple Store reservation for 100.00 on Craigslist. You probably hate me don't you.

I confirmed with the local Apple Store manager that as long as I'm present, I can gift my reservation to anyone who is with me, so long as they are eligible for an AT&T phone.
 
I was able to find someone. I will be meeting them on Thursday to let them purchase their phone.

I know I could have sold my reservation on craigslist and tried to make some money, but i just wouldn't feel right doing that.

Hopefully Karma will be my payment :)

BTW, we've talked to the Domain twice today and they said that as long as you have a copy of the email with you (i.e from the person who received the confirmation email of the reservation), they can transfer the phone. May be able to save yourself a trip if you just forward your email to that individual whom you gave your res to. I'd call the Domain just to check and hear it from them yourself.

My husband really, REALLY wants one and so I'm trying to help him out. He'll get it, may be a few days or a couple of weeks late, but he'll get one.

Now I am seeing the goodwill that I have known for so many years in this forum!!!

Like I said before, was more jealous than anything and mad at Att for all the preorder issues. I admit it. Just hope my reservation works out and able to get the second phone for my wife that I could not reserve.
 
When I couldn't get an order in, I made a reservation just in case I never got through. I finally got an order in later in the evening and as soon as I got my confirmation email, I canceled my reservation knowing that it was precluding others from making a reservation. Not everyone else has the same consideration for others but really they have no obligation to I guess.

That's exactly what I plan to do if my Best Buy pre-order falls through. 30 minute drive but it's worth it if someone else is able to benefit from it.
