Wouldn't that be, the keyboard that is basically on all of their laptops minus the rMB
rMBP has a little less key travel

It's a deal breaker for me. I never got used to the feedback, especially when I had to hold a modifier key. I could never be sure the key was still down until I typed. I sold the rMB primarily because of the keyboard. At my desktops, I have cherry mx brown at work and blue at home. I think the difference between the mechanical and the rMB keyboards is too great for me to ever get comfortable with it.
Odd thing is that I don't mind typing on the iPad's keyboard with only visual feedback and no travel. Of course I've never typed a ten page doc on the iPad, that may change my opinion.
I really love the new keyboard actually, I didn't at first sight, but as soon as I started to type on it, I loved how silent they were, they are a joy to type on. New standard![]()
I do like the direction they are going, I would say if there were one in between the two, I would probably like that the most.
I've replaced my rMB for rMBP because of the keyboard. Not that I don't like it, I love it. I can type way faster on rMB then on rMBP.
But the keyboard on rMB is pretty bad in quality department. I had to replace my keyboard two times already, and now had to do it for the third time. After that I am staying away from awesome rMB.
I hope they can figure it out fix the issue, coz giving 1500 euros for a laptop with keyboard that has stuck keys or falling out keys is absurd. I will gladly buy rMB again, but only when I'm sure that the keyboard is worth it.
random keys get sticky. they feel dull. they cannot be home-repaired (popped off ,cleaned, put back in).Oh wow, I had heard about this, what exactly goes bad on them?

As @thettareddast put it, same thing happens to me. And I am a touch typist, so I don't press hard on the keys. But for some reason a few keys get stuck. In my case it's number 3, [, ], n, i, 9.
I would say that when u type a lot on certain keys they get stuck. But that isn't the case, since I really don't use numbers a lot. And if that were the case, then space key, enter, (, + .) would be stuck in my case, since those are the keys I use most often with brackets (developer).
This isn't a rare case, google it. A lot of people are complaining about this. Using compressed air to clean rMB helps some, but not me. I really keep my rMB clean. I don't eat when using it, I don't smoke, or anything similar.
I really love the keyboard, best keyboard for touch typists. Only if the quality was worth the price...
Having both a MBP and the new MacBook, I am very satisfied with the new MacBook's keyboard. While I don't think it's for everybody, I certainly enjoy using it.
My only qualm with the MacBook keyboard is the durability/longevity. There are many documented issues on the forums about people having stuck keys, defective keys, etc. While I did experience these issues on the 2015 MacBook, I now have a 2016 MacBook and have been satisfied with my device's keyboard since day 1.
There's been a few complaints that the plastic construction of the keys are the cause and for some they don't hold up to daily usage. I cannot say if this is true or not, but I can say is that I see a fair number of people complaining about themrandom keys get sticky. they feel dull. they cannot be home-repaired (popped off ,cleaned, put back in).
at any point in time, 2 or 3 of my keys will go dull. its annoying
The latest MacBooks have the WORST keyboards of any laptops available today. There is insufficient key travel to provide a satisfying typing experience. It feels like pushing buttons rather than keys. There is no tactile response.
These shallow MacBook keyboards may be fine for producing short blogs or posting on social media, but not for writing longer works - such as articles, scripts or books. I suspect that the people who designed this keyboard never write anything longer than a two-page email.
Apple used to make the best – most responsive - keyboards in the business. Their obsession with ‘thin-ness’ has blinded them to the pitfalls of shallow key travel.
The worst keyboard I have ever had used - and that's not considering the poor reliability.
