Heh. It was supposed to be detail, not deal. I was in a hurry, must've missed the auto-correct outcome.

What I was saying is basically that the lack of much, if any discernible detail from afar is going to leave you looking like you're wearing a slightly thick black band bracelet, and not a $1100 watch. You'll know, you'll see it up close, but, most people besides the wearer only see watches from several feet or further away. It's actually exacerbated by the rectangle case shape.

This is, of course, all my own impression of these sorts of watches, particularly after being an owner of one for a while.

Gotcha. And you might very well be correct. I like nice things, but I like them for me, and I dislike when they attract attention. I'd actually just as soon others misidentify it as an ordinary watch, or even better, not notice it at all.

So, that's fine by me.

Not sure after going to the Apple store today? The regular SS looks awfully nice and is more versatile?

I have a mid May delivery date Hate to loose my place in line
:(

What was that?

I agree. That's the price you pay to look good.

I am not even interested on the stainless steel space grey link band. The link band cost more than the Sport watch by itself. Good marketing strategy but a good or even great marketing doesn't mean anything when consumers are not willing to buy it.

A stainless steel link band by itself > 42mm sport watch with apple care including tax.

I'm not regretting my choice.... as I went for the SS because the black SS would not match most bands! Obvious really;)

That's good. I preferred the SS Space grey because I only want the black sport band. And maybe the white too. Did you get the 42mm?

Yes the 42mm Watch for myself and 38mm sport for my wife! Although thinking about it, as I'm 5'7 and have smallish wrists I'm thinking the 42mm might look a tad chunky on me:(

I think the 42mm is a good size. I have small wrist too but love how the 42mm fits my wrist. The experience in having the watch wouldn't be as good on the 38mm if one likes to tinker with it.

I went with the 42mm SS Space Black and ordered the black and white sport bands to switch out with it. No regrets here....except for the wait:D

Sweet! I could've done the same thing, but it's just far too expensive for me. The link band will most likely sit in the box if I did get one.

I wish they would at least prepare to ship one of these but alas I think the wait continues...

Last year I was planning on Space Black. Completely and utterly Space Black.

Since then, after seeing RL pictures of Space Black, and seeing it in person I am glad I went with standard SS.

Space Black for lack of a better term is too black for me. Heck, even the Space Grey is too dark to have on me as a consistent thing I wear every day. In person it seems like an incredibly jarring color.

To each their own though.

That's one reason I went with regular SS. It is more appropriate in professional settings. Not to mention it will work with all the different bands. The silver SS works well with all the color sports bands too.

I ordered space black and I don't regret my decision at all. I was trying to figure out if I wanted SS or SB SS. After seeing it in person I felt really good about my decision. I must admit that SS was nice but SB SS was definitely unique. There might be few bands that match but third party bands will be available soon enough. Attached is a really good pic of the SB SS. Doesn't it look sweet?

It definitely looks beautiful and I have no regrets and I can't wait to get my watch soon!

I've actually cancelled my mid May pre order and got a standard stainless with white sport band from an ebayer on Friday. Ordered the normal link bracelet for May delivery also. After seeing and trying the standard version with the bracelet in store I kind of regretted my initial choice, so I'm very happy now and the watch is great

I can't justify the price of the space black for the gen 1 version, so I went with SG sport, but for the Apple Watch 3 or 4 I could definitely see upgrading to the space black. Talk about sleek.
