Take off the plastic man, you gotta live a little.

THe whole sofa and plastic thing, god I hate that so much. It actually scares me.... like they might just do it to get rid of the blood easier.

Lol like Dexter.

I had it on until I got a screen protector for it. As for my GF she could care less if her iPad had a dent in it as long as it works.

I got mine on Monday and it's still rocking the plastic wrap. I haven't found a case I like yet. I did an Invisible Shield with iPad1 , but I didn't like the sticky feel to it. Went to an antiglare protector, but could never get the bubbles out. So until I find the right case/cover solution the plastic stays on. And it gets transported around in a protective bag.

I did cut back the speaker hole, earphone jack and power connector.

My iPad left me in pristine condition. I want to keep the iPad2 in the same condition.

I've seen people do stuff like this. I understand they want to keep it new, but it's pretty disturbing.

Good news !! My cheapie TPU case came last night and off the plastic furniture cover went. I cut the top of the TPU case and my smartcover fits perfectly, I'm actually thinking of going with that setup permanently.

I usually keep mine on too. Did it with the first iPad but I find it accumulates dust and dirt. I have not done it to my new iPad but I have the plastic wrapping still in the box so I can rewrap it anytime I want.

And yes I have plastic wrap around my tv remote and edge of my tv.

Picture dude

Was in a meeting this week and the presenter had his new iPad in the original wrap. My OCD kicked in and I found it hard to sit in my chair and not grab the thing and rip off the plastic!
I can understand why someone would wait for a case, etc. (in this case, he lived in fear of his daughter scratching the device) but it would drive me up the wall!

I really need to double up on the meds....

I'll admit, the first day I got my iPad 2, if I did not get lucky finding the last InCase Book at Best Buy I would have well sported the stock plastic wrap. Oh and by the way keeping the wrap isn't a bad idea for resale reasons, I don't know how many times I've made customers happy off a preowned product just because of how pristine the condition was. Usually so flawless it seems suspect and they start to ask questions like, "Are you sure you used it?" and "Why don't you want to use it anymore?" and I just say, I'm upgrading. But yeah, the stock wrap beyond 3-4 days is too much for me, I hated the sound and static it had.

Be careful with this... If any dirt/sand/particles get trapped between the plastic and the glass screen, it will most likely scratch it. I've seen it happen.

The back is a bit tougher, but theoretically the same could happen there too.

LOL

I used it be like this, my family/friends just give me this WTF look.

It's more difficult to leave it on Apple but I remember when I first got my BlackBerry Bold 9000, I left the stock protectors on until they were barely on.

Today, my toys are naked except when I'm in my Coupe/LA Fitness since I have to use Covers so I can attach Velcro on the back.

I used to be the one to leave plastic wrap on my devices but have found I enjoy owning a product much more when I start using it and not lightly handling it in fear I may destroy it. Who cares about resale if you aren't going to even use it. I now use my devices like I fot them for free.

I knew a man who, when he bought a new vehicle, would take out his knife and put a nick in the paint so that he wouldn't worry about it. I could never do that, but I've been using my iphone4 naked since last summer, and I love it without a case. For now, I have only the smart cover on my iPad 2. I'm going to add the incipio feather case for the back when it's available.
