If you think it's bad now... wait until the iPhone actually gets released.

All of these Youtubers will create an unboxing video... a first-look video... a full review video... a "one month with iPhone 12" video... and so on.

And they'll do this for each iPhone... iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro... and next month they'll do all these same videos again with iPhone Mini and iPhone 12 Pro Max.

Oh... and separate videos for MagSafe cases... HomePod Mini... etc.

And just wait until Apple Silicon Macs are released. That'll be another series of videos... unboxings, benchmarks, "Should You Buy?" videos... etc.

It might be best to just avoid Youtube altogether until around January. :p

sounds like you are calling out MaxTech. I appreciate his hustle but man he totally milks it, and his videos are basically a repeat of his previous ones 😂

Well, I don’t mind actual unboxing and hands on review. At least they have the product. Right now, they don’t even have it so the content they’re talking about is just rehashing the bullet points in the keynote/spec list.

I do find it hilarious that after a month or so, they will upload videos about “long term” review of the product. Like one month or so is enough to judge the years life worth of a product. :D

Oh 100%.

what Apple should do is bring the ones who will legitimately get an on hands early look at the next iPhone to the stage.

literally. Bring them up, have them be apart of the keynote. Then let the world know to watch THEIR channel at a certain time to check it out.

that will 100% eliminate all of the mock ups and fake unboxings of said iPhone.

it’s time for the click bait era to die.

Haha true. I've been following Max from back when he was only doing camera reviews.

But yeah... he does go a little crazy on certain topics... :p

That won’t stop pretenders because the average consumer doesn’t watch Apple keynotes. Besides, I already ignore Apple’s direct marketing shills like Ritchie - if these folks are now officially on stage they will report with a bias - which is the opposite of what the consumer wants to see when viewing reviews. Reviews should point out the good and the bad and then come to an unbiased fair-ish conclusion.
