Im just sick of you tubers in general minus a few that actually give a review based on the tech. Some just act like its the best thing ever, some are trying to sell themselves on which one to get, some just regurgitate someone else's reviews, and some always review it based on someone who makes YouTube videos for a living.

Clearly, YOU don’t know. You and the other 15 year olds that click on those links.
lol i don’t know what?

yeah you contradicted yourself there, not everyone knows!

And I never click on those links, if you’ve been keeping up with the thread, my problem is they pollute my search results. And it doesn’t take long to figure out you been misled. So try again 🤷🏻

Choice of thumbnails for videos really tells you a lot about a reviewer. The ones where it's some dude with his mouth wide open screaming in the thumbnail is a giant red flag. Why you screaming about phones?
I don’t think they’re screaming, I think they’re just thirsty

I used to follow EverythingApplePro a long time ago but I unsubscribed when he starting posting so many videos with clickbait titles like “Final design leaked” which was a lie. And he started adding like 8 ads per video.

Speaking of ads...wtf is with Youtube dropping in ads abruptly in the middle of a video? No warning, it's a straight jump cut into the ad. Youtube is such a horrible user experience now. It's like 50% ad, 50% content.

So, I'm not sure how much control each channel has in the number of ads per video.

Most of them are annoying. The worst are where they just show themselves on camera then talk over Apple footage of the event or even just showing a pan over of the apple website. Talk about not adding any additional info at all.

My favorites are Flossy and iJustine. Yeah Justine is a bit dramatic but I get the feeling she really does legitimately get excited about new products.
Yep I can happily watch ijustine, Krystal and mkbhd. I think zollotech was alright as well (im sure I got the name right).

Maybe the actual problem is the people who know a dozen YouTube unboxers by name.
Maybe stop watching dumb videos and the people who make money because you watch them will stop making them.

I subscribe to YouTube Premium and yet I see the "this video is sponsored by..." ads which YouTubers put in videos.
In fact there is a firefox extension even to block those segments of the videos - Link

Lisa from MobileTechReview here, and no I didn't do a video of phones we don't yet have. While I think it's disingenuous to do that sort of thing, I have a strong suspicion that some of the bigger YouTubers who don't usually do this sort of thing, did it this time for a very specific reason. It's COVID and what it's done to launch events that journalists and tech YouTubers normally attend and where they're given hands on time with the product and shooting space so they can do a genuine hands-on first impressions sort of video. That's suddenly gone since March 2020, and the bigger channels that attend these events tried to come up with some way to do launch coverage. Again, I personally did NOT do this, and I don't think it's a good idea, but a lot of channels are suddenly without their usual tentpole videos and are grasping for a way to do what they used to do (minus actual product LOL).

That’s probably what we get for using a platform that belongs to the world’s biggest ad company and data miner.
