Thumbnails of these YouTubers pretending to have the iPhone in their hands, it’s so shady and scummy, and pathetic by tricking people that they have a product they don’t actually have. They never had an actual hands on it makes it difficult to find an actual hands on video, even though Good Morning America appears to be the only ones first to it

OMG what I really hate is those GOD AWFUL ugly AF thumbnails.

For those actually interested in learning about the product, I recommend this guy on YouTube: iPhonedo

He’s informative and funny. I rather enjoy his reviews.

He is the best. Sometimes he focuses a bit too much on the fancy transitions but he gives a lot of information and makes me laugh. The only one I stay subscribed to.

I hate that too! TailosiveTech admitted he does this. It’s so scammy!!!

I believe all tech reviewers do this who don’t receive review units

I mean I would do the same. I don’t have the funds to keep every phone I would want to review.

MKBHD is biased for or against Apple? I find Marques critiques refreshing. He applies his same filters to all the tech he reviews. And if he's biased against Apple, that's surprising for all the Apple Tech he uses daily.
The only company he seems biased for seems to be OnePlus.
His reviews convinced me to purchase the OnePlus 7T pro last year and it literally came with a bunch of issues ranging from the fingerprint sensor not working 50% of the time, the screen having a horrible green tint and either not registering touches or registering random touches that weren’t there. Horrible support also, probably need a blue checkmark on Twitter to get some support.

I’m lucky enough to live in the EU and could return it within 30 days to the place I bought it at. Thank god I didn’t purchase it directly from OnePlus or I probably would’ve never seen my money back.
Switched right back to my XS after returning.

Where in Europe do they let you return your product within 30 days? Never heard of that. Was it a special offer? Legally, it's 14 days anywhere.

A lot of online retailers extend the 14 days to 30 days. Sorry if I made it seem like 30 days was the standard here, it’s 14 by law but most do 30 or even more.

This is why most tech reviews come from the US where such return policies exist.
In some countries, this method won't be sustainable as there's no such generous return policies.

Most stores within the EU double the standard 14 day timeframe allowed for returns.

UK Apple Store give 14 days to initiate a return, and then a further 14 days to actually get the device back to them. No fees, no hassle, just a full refund as long as there’s no damage.

IIRC the YouTube algorithm just wants any kind of interaction, they don't really care if it's positive or negative, a thumb up or down. All you can do is not watch click bait videos in the first place.

Why are all these YouTube trying to be me, rocking a fake iPhone 12 Pro Max in order to get attention from strangers?

If you think it's bad now... wait until the iPhone actually gets released.

All of these Youtubers will create an unboxing video... a first-look video... a full review video... a "one month with iPhone 12" video... and so on.

And they'll do this for each iPhone... iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro... and next month they'll do all these same videos again with iPhone Mini and iPhone 12 Pro Max.

Oh... and separate videos for MagSafe cases... HomePod Mini... etc.

And just wait until Apple Silicon Macs are released. That'll be another series of videos... unboxings, benchmarks, "Should You Buy?" videos... etc.

It might be best to just avoid Youtube altogether until around January. :p

Can't wait for the embargo to lift shortly! I really miss the hands-on videos after every event.

True. Sadly it is harder than ever to find to-the-point quality content on Apple products. The way Youtube rewards content creators is the reason of this mess of 10 videos per Youtuber on 1 same thing (1st toughts, unboxing, quick impressions, 1 week review, 1 month, 1 year, comparison, random blabla etc etc). The other issue is that YT reward more long video, so you get too many 10-20min vid that should litterally last 3-4min max.

I find myself playing very often video a 1.5x
