I still use my iPhone 5. I have no issues with it. I was going to upgrade to the 6 but since I have no issues with it. I figured I would just wait for the 6s.

I've got a 5 that I'm out of contract on that still works great and is in mint condition. Although I'm tempted by the 6, I'm gonna try to hold out until at least the 6s. The RAM really should have been upgraded on the 6 series but wasn't. They might work fine now but will have a shorter useful life in the long term.

Apple really stepped up on CPU with the iPhone 5, which I think has given the phone longevity. While the iPhone 4 struggled with iOS 7 and won't run 8, and the 4S gets somewhat slower, the 5 seems to run the newer iOS with no problems at all. The A6 is a beast of a processor, and the iPhone 5 feels as good if not better to me on iOS 8 as it did on iOS 6.

I agree the iphone 5 is still a powerful phone. I would like a 6 but i like to save money so by the time my contract is up the 6 will have dropped in price. I really am impressed on the longevity of the iphone 5 im glad it will last me until I upgrade in September. iOS 8 does run pretty well on this phone at first it was slow on 8 but Apple ironed out the problems

I've actually upgraded from my iPhone 5 to an iPhone 6 a few weeks ago, and honestly I actually really miss my old phone.

My dear old iPhone 5 was as reliable as the sunrise (other than the notorious sleep/wake button issue and a failing battery in the end, which Apple replaced for me, free of charge) and looked and felt stunning.

The iPhone 6 that has replaced it is nice I suppose, but funnily enough it actually feels cheaper than the iPhone 5 and 5s in my opinion.

I switched to T-Mobile from Sprint with the purchase of the iPhone 6, so I traded it in to Apple for store credit. I would have happily kept the old phone as a backup were it not for Sprint being greedy and not allowing domestic unlocks on their devices. :apple:

I'm still happy with my phone, iphone 5s. i got short fat fingers so it's more comfortable for me to handle than the 6 or 6+.

I just wished that I maxed out the storage at the time and got the 64gb model. I knew at the time that I was going to hold on to the phone for awhile and getting the max storage would have made it more future proof.

I'm hoping the rumors of an iphone 6s mini with a 4 inch screen are true.

You can go back to it when the Apple Watch debuts, as you'll be able to use Apple Pay with the 5/5s/5c via the Watch.

Oh, OP, did we need yet another thread with unnecessary rationalizing from members insecure about their 5/5s?

At stores, but not within apps.

I'm still happily using my one year old 5s 32GB Space Grey. The only way I'll be letting it go is when my daughter's 4s finally kicks the bucket. Her's was a 'hand me down' from a relative. Then I will give her my 5s and I'll probably then get the 6. I prefer to be in the "s" cycle because I think the design flaws and bugs are corrected with the "s" models. However her 4s is really getting slow, has a broken on/off button, and other performance issues. I would be shocked if it made it by the time the 6s comes out.

I just bought new 5s after 2 years with my 4s because the 6 & 6 plus too expensive where i live. Till now I'm very happy with this device.

Still on my iphone 5. I doubted a lot to upgrade, but I don't think I will as long as this one doesn't fail on me.

The iphone 6, the bigger screen is nice, but beside that, there are no significant improvements in experience vs an iphone 5

I'll probably go with the 6s. With the 6s we get a significant jump in camera, processor, (hopefully battery) and maybe even choice between 3 sizes :D

You didn't have to read, yet alone, comment in my thread. My title stated what it was. It was not misleading at all. And if you can't handle seeing something that doesn't sit well with you, then this forum, nor anything else the Internet has to offer, is for you I'm afraid.

I'm free to state my opinion as well. If you can't handle my pointing out how you're only adding to the long list of threads started by members trying to rationalize their purchases or non-purchases, then this forum, nor anything else the Internet has to offer, is for you I'm afraid.

post anytime IamSupermannMan, the times between releases can be slow around here. I know i didn't mind it.

Happy holidays.

I use my old 5s for my daughter as an iPod and I have to admit - I do miss the smaller size at times. It just feels good in my hand.

However, I don't think I can go back to that size screen. As much as I like the form factor, the screen size wins out with the 6/6 Plus.

Actually a little known benefit of still having a previous generation phone. Less likely to get stolen. I had the 4S for 3 years, after the 5 came out, I just left that thing out as if I was begging to get it stolen.

That's just unwise, to say the least. Even older iphones retain a fair resale value. The sort of people who will steal a brand new phone are just as likely to steal an older one if doing so comes with little risk. You were just lucky.

Honestly, I was until I got the itch to try the 6. Got one and a week later brokered a deal for a 6 Plus. Used my wife's 5 while on the phone with our niece yesterday and MAN that thing is TINY!

Whilst out and about though, the size of the 5/5S is ideal.

I think that's subjective. I have no issues handling the 6 Plus while mobile. I'm pretty sure now that I won't be going backward with regard to phone size now! I'm all in on the phablet lol

Anyone else still happy with my their 5/5s?

You shouldn't need to be convinced by yourself, or anyone else, that you are using the right phone for you. If it feels right then just use it.

I think the 6s is the best sized phone ever, but I am using a 5c that works perfectly well and I don't see getting rid of a perfectly working phone for another. I used my last phone until the usb port stopped working (years) and the laptop I just retired, gave to the daughter for web surfing, is soon 6 years old.

I think people read the forums too much and become insecure over not having the latest. Not singling you out, just making the point.

This

Weird insecurities op

Had the 5s. Wouldn't go back. I love how it is thinner and enjoy the extra bit of real estate. 6+ is nice but not quite mobile enough for me.

This is what has gotten me over the years and likely why I have often switched between Android and iOS. I have read the forums way too much. I've now unplugged from all forums Android and it definitely helps!
