Of course YMMV but this is MY situation.
I have at-t and iPhone, I am eligible for an upgrad.
Wife has at-t and iPhone, she is eligible for an upgrade
Sister I/L has at-t but no iPhone, doesn't want the iPhone is eligible for an upgrade.
We all plan on staying with at-t for years to come (at least next 2)

Sell one i-4 $905 shipped
Sell one i-4 $900 shipped
I have $1805
Fee's for both phones:
Paypal $52
Ebay $118
Shipping $64
Now I have $1571
Pay for 3 32g iPhone 4's $933
Now I have $638 in my pocket AND one 32g iPhone 4.
The lines would of been used for the next 2 years anyway so no extra fee or
ETF. SIL doesn't want an iPhone and wife will upgrade later if she wants (of course we will have to pay full price). I will be giving my 3gs to my brotherand every one is happy.
My situation is really very simple to understand and I've explained it before.... guess some people don't read the thread but a few post then fire.

should have sold internatioally you would have gotten more since many countries will not see this phone for a while since apple is having trouble supplying their own home front

Yeah I have in the past(sold international on e-bay) but to much of an issue with the i-4. I know some are selling them as "unlocked" but I didn't want to deal with that. I sold one to a guy in Guam, does that count? :p

It is not about entitlement. I feel it is a very low thing to do. You did not take part in creating the phone, yet you want to money from it's sale. It is not clever. You are taking an iPhone that somebody else actually wants to use so you can make a quick, lazy profit.

Instead of taking advantage of people and the system how about you work on something, create it and then sell it for profit.

What you are doing is not profiting, you are scalping, just like those people on the corner at a concert.

How is that a low thing to do, some people really want iPhones but missed out on the preorder and aren't willing to line up for one so they offer money to someone else to do it for them buy buying a phone on ebay.

1. Apple wins, they sold the phone.
2. The seller wins, they make money.
3. The buyer wins, they get an iPhone without waiting in line.

The only loser here is someone who is too lazy to get in line early or too cheap to pay a little more if they are unwilling to get in line.

Dude, wtf are you talking about. Don't you think the people buying the iPhones from me WANT those phones? If they didn't why would they buy them? Your entire point is, well it won't be nice so I'll bite my tongue.
You didn't take part in making the car you drive, yet when you sell it don't you hope to turn a profit?
As far as lazy goes.... I work 12 hours a night 6 nights a week (72 hours for the "slow" ones) so my wife can go to school full time. I pay my bills including my at-t bill of $170 a month, so who are you to call me lazy? Talking out your 4th point of contact is what you're doing.
Who is being taken advantage of?
As far as the system goes, how am I taking "advantage" of that? There are upgrades to be used and I used them. I paid MY hard earned cash to buy those phones, not yours. So, when you start paying MY bills maybe THEN I'll be interested in what you have to say. Now, I'm sorry you didn't have the upgrades to use but I did. If you did have the upgrades to use and didn't than that's you problem not mine.

I am sure they do want them, they would probably rather pay regular price though. Also, the car I drive is not a limited commodity like the iPhone 4. I did not say you are lazy, I said the process of buying an absurdly popular, now sold-out phone and scalping it on eBay is lazy. I do have the upgrade and I did use it, I just actually want the phone; I also happen to have principles.

Justify your actions however you need, I am finished.

LoL. I would ask if you needed a tissue but frankly I really don't give a crap. You want to know about my "principles"? I have 3 I live my life for..... Shannon, Kaegen and Kailey. If me getting an iPhone, selling it and making $600+, means you don't get one guess what..... I don't give a damn. Oh and trust me....It's very easy to justify if you ask me ;)

Gona sell me 16 of dem ol phones an buy me a house and Corvette for Mary Lu with da profits dang it.
Now why would you give Mary Lu a Corvette?

Amen, brother. It's just one example of how the greedy are completely destroying the American economy. It almost destroyed the comic book industry. But getting a quick buck regardless of the effect it has on others is the same philosophy as Wall Street.

Some of us see a free bowl of candies at Pizza Hut and take one with the understanding that others may want one. Then there are those who will grab all the candies out of the bowl in their greedy little hands, rapidly stuffing them into their pockets before anyone else can get them, and then proceed to start selling them for $5 each.

Let's stop the fighting and look at a real life example..

This guy here, ordered the iPhone 4 16GB for £499 with no other costs, apart from 10% eBay fee (UK iPhone comes unlocked). His auction ends in 1 hour so it will be interesting to see how much it goes for.

More interesting will be whether he actually collects those funds.

Agreed, typical American mentality. Me, me, me. Out to make a quick buck with no effort and complete disregard for others. It pains me though, because I too am an American. I just live by a different set of principles. Oh well, you can't win them all.

If you want to see how much they are actually going for, you have to log in to eBay, go to advanced search, choose Completed listings, and then search for iPhone 4.

Don't the buyers on ebay want and deserve an iPhone 4 as much as the next guy?

Exactly. If someone "needs" or "deserves" an iphone, they can just buy one on eBay. Don't have enough money to buy on eBay? Guess you didn't "need" it all that badly, huh?

I just have to laugh when people complain about "needing" a certain phone (which us funn in itself) but then not wanting to pay the price on eBay or get up early to preorder.

I, for one, don't really care about the iPhone at all. I already have a better phone. I tried TWICE to get through to order on Apple.com on the 15th about 6pm EST and got through and ordered the second time. My phone is already en route with a tracking number. Anyone complaining about not being able to get through obviously didn't try hard enough to get one in the first place, so has no reason to complain.

I get a real kick out of all these crybabies who "need" or "deserve" iPhone. I will be selling three new iPhones this weekend and couldn't care less what anyone thinks. I am going to take the profits and pay for my family's vacation in July. Because, you know, they deserve it! :D:D:D
