Well, stop streaming porn then. That's the only time I ever see WMV files. If you're not streaming porn, then what modern website is still streaming with WMV?

You basically downgraded from Snow Leopard just because you couldn't go anywhere in your streaming movie? Lame. Also, isn't there a version of Windows Media Player for Mac OS X?

Yeeessss, as well as the raft of reasons that s/he lists in post 488 above. You should probably read the the thread chronologically if you are considering posting.

In any case, why should he stop streaming porn? Is downloading it better? It's just, sometimes you may download a 600 MB clip, and before you've watched a two full minutes, the urge to continue watching has somewhat waned...if you know what I mean. If you don't, let"s just leave it there.

Also if you are older than 12 and using the word 'lame' pejoratively, that's like...insult paedophilia. Can we agree to leave that word/usage to the kids?

Sorry, I am not attacking you in seriousness. Just teasing. I know you will probably be taking them seriously. Sorry again.

It's just a word I use to replace "gay" or "retarded" because those are offensive and "lame" is not as offensive.

Oh. Well in that case explore the Oxford English Dictionary. There are lots of more than passable insults that don't affect any group protected by political correctness. Spending half an hour could tide you over for years.

Nonsensical
Flabbergasting
of mind blowingly low intelligence
Shocking
Thoughtless
Senseless
Moronic
Nimcompoop
Bone/air/meathead
Silly boy
Bad person

There's a decent mix of adjectives and nouns to get the ball rolling!

Those are lame.

Actually, it is released, but I agree with you. I will wait until they fix all the problems they are having.

Remarkably, my original Tiger setup was still stable and running like a well-oiled machine after almost 3 years! But, the other day I decided to take the plunge and install SL. I did this because a lot of new apps are being developed for OS 10.5 or 10.6 and above ONLY. (example: Google Chrome).

I've only used it for a bit, but so far I didn't notice any change in performance. In fact boot-up time seems longer. I have one big complaint: Apple got rid of custom energy saver profiles! This is really disappointing, especially for macbook users. I used to have a custom profile for leaving my computer to perform a long task, like download a file, or process a video, which turned off the display right away, but didn't allow the computer to go into standby.

- 15" Macbook Pro - Core Duo (1st gen. Not Core 2 Duo)

I take back what I said.

Boot-up time is the same or less. Shut-down is like lightning!
Lack of customer energy-saver profiles sucks, but I found a work-around. For the AC-power profile, I have it set to never go to standby (because I can just shut the lid). I set hot-corners to put the display to sleep when I move my pointer to the top-right corner.

So far so good. I still haven't put all my applications back on. I'll need to replace some of them since they won't work with SL.

A couple of updates...

#1 - I can hear my cooling fans doing a lot more work. Maybe the CPU's are working harder because SL is making more use of the dual cores? The question is using them for what? Actual work, or useless crap I don't need like fancy graphics.

#2 - Why does it take so bloody long to load photos with Preview? A 3MB jpg from my digital camera used to come up almost instantly. Now, it displays them one chunk at a time, and it takes about 3 seconds. What on earth is it doing???

Snow leopard is just lame. Just like how iOS 4 is lame. Jailbreakers have a way better version of multitasking, it's called "backgrounder."

By the way, when I say hot, I mean so damn hot I can't use it on my lap anymore because it burns my legs.

Snow leopard sucks.

RECENTLY INSTALLED SNOW LEOPARD ON MY MACBOOK hoping it would solve the many problems I have had with Leopard. It has only made things worse. MUCH WORSE.

SNOW LEOPARD SUCKS! APPLE doesn't care about it's computer users anymore. Apple only wants to sell phones and entertainment.

The higher it's stock valuation, the crappier it's computers. I've been using Mac's since the Apple II. Snow Leopard is driving me insane. Hate it, don't waste your money, Apple won't give you a refund.

IT makes me terrified to upgrade to Lion as I just can't take being ripped off anymore. I am thinking of going back to my G4 and system 9 with Office. Numbers is horribly slow.
