Nope. Not interested in futzing around with my smartphone all the time -- I've got better things to do.

iPhones just work.

I bought a S2 after using my iPhone and guess what it just works. I don't futz with the phone.

I was kinda feeling the same way, but no. I have no regrets. I was going to hold off on getting a new phone until iP5 (or newer android) came out next year. I've been on android for a year or so and WinMo before that. My phone died last Friday afternoon and I went to at&t (after work) to pick up the Samsung Gal. S II, but some how walked out with a iP4s (16gb). I didn't want to like it because of the small screen and 512 of ram, BUT I have been very impressed and pleased with it. The camera is GREAT, I have been taking photos and vids of my daughter and I can actually capture her smile, android took too damn long to take a photo! It has been wonderful to run with, I was able to pickup with Nike+GPS (I have been using Nike+iPod) that Saturday for a 5K. I might feel a bit of aggravation next year when iP5 release, but I'll survive. All in all I have been very pleased with my purchase, especially for my first iPhone.

Yep mines going back...Galaxy Nexus for me everything the iPhone should be,and ICS and the nexus will run like clockwork......

While I wasn't originally going to purchase the iphone 4s, because I wanted a larger screen, I gave in mostly because of Siri. While, I wasn't looking at Android phones, simply because of my past experience with HTC and the very little experience at stores where I'll pick one up and use it for a tad, I do understand why you would consider returning it based on battery life.

In my own opinion, Siri, is possibly the greatest thing I have come across on a mobile phone since the concept of a "smart phone" and web browsing. For once, I'm actually scheduling meetings (synced with Google calendar), using reminders (this is the best thing yet how I can set it based on location), and responding to texts while using a Bluetooth device and not moving my eyes off the road (no more, oh crap how did i just drive for the past 10 seconds, did I run that stop sign??) When i talk to someone that has an iPhone 4, it's difficult to explain why it may be worth the upgrade (to those that are not interested in the hardware or camera) considering they look the same and they run on the same iOS with the exception of Siri. However, I think the best way to put it is, Siri makes it easy to use every feature of your iOS. Sure, you can setup reminders location based, respond to texts (while driving or not), add events to your calendar, read incoming texts, look up the weather, google search something, etc etc on the iphone 4, but with Siri, it is soo much easier to do all that, that I actually end up using it all. With that said, I expect that apple will be taking this Siri program eventually to the next level and perhaps integrate it with different features that are not currently available, but I dont want to hijack your thread so I'll stop there, not to mention this would be a different phone altogether.

Now that the Galaxy Nexus and ICS has been announced... Who here thinks they might regret buying the 4S?

We all have the option to return our phones... That's what makes the choice tough.

I've had bad experiences with 4 Android phones in the past, but this might fix most things.

-hardware acceleration (?)
-enough storage
-improved stock launcher
-browser bookmarks are synced
-big screen WITH high resolution
-background processes are more easily managed

Those are things that were fixed. Then there's all the things that I'd benefit from that Android already had:

-Flash
-better multitasking
-widgets
-faster (you can turn off animations)

Those are MY reasons. And I realize I'd be making trade offs as well... It's tough. Anyways, what about you guys? Regret, or no regret?

I have never once regretted owning an iPhone. I've also never even considered owning an Android phone. This is the first time in the history of me owning phones (since 1994/5) that I have not wanted something different.

I upgraded from the 3Gs and the 4s makes me happy with the differences and happy with the things that stayed the same. The iPhone just works for me.

Not looking for anything else... at least until the iPhone 5 comes out. ;)

4 bad experiences with android phones and youre still not convinced? if your girlfriend cheated on you 4 times would you just keep going back or kick her to the curb?!?

That's something I'm worried about... My days of custom ROMs are over. If I switched to an Android phone, it'd need to have what I need from the start, and no crazy issues

Nexus phones get their updates first. So I say get it.

I feel indifferent about owning the 4S, probably just because I updated from the iPhone 4. In everyday use, I really can't tell the different. Is the camera better? I guess, but the average person wouldn't be able to tell the different between photos taken on the iPhone 4 vs iPhone 4S. Is it faster? Maybe, but carrier service still causes a bottleneck. You can put racing tires on a Ford Focus, doesn't mean its going to drive faster. Is the battery better? A fat no.

And then we come to Siri. Ah, Siri. Siri is like a touch screen. It's a different way of doing something, but not any better. Plus it's riddled with problems, mostly coming from Apple's server being busy.

Am I happy with my purchase. I suppose, mostly because I liked my iPhone 4. Would I buy it again? Probably not.

Could not have stated it better and that us why I reactivated my 4 and sending 4s back. Will use the money to upgrade to the 5 if and when the mythical beast debuts!

I dont think I'll regret the purchase, but definitely would have been content sticking with the 4. I love the speed of the 4S. The camera is awesome, even though I don't take many pics. I purchased the phone mainly for Siri and the text dictation features. Today, while driving home, I was trying to use the speech to text feature to respond to a text message with no luck. I'm sure that was caused by poor network performance with AT&T and didn't have much to do with Apples servers. As soon as I got home on wifi, everything was smooth. It was still a very frustrating experience. It would have been much faster to pull over, respond to the text, and continue on.

Trying to get Siri to set a Doc appointment and also remind me of it when time was a real struggle, even though I was speaking perfectly clear. It kept picking up bits and pieces of what I was telling it. Again, very frustrating. Could have done it much faster manually entering all the details myself.

Nope, sold my old iPhone for $350 so it was a free upgrade.. and I love Siri the new A5 chip and camera.

I like having a phone that fits my pocket. A manpurse certainly is out of the question as well. So no, no regrets.

I wonder how Apple's going to sell iPhone 4S in Asia where Siri simply has no relevance, especially with the little screen. Most people I talked to want a much bigger screen. Yesterday just spoke to a guy who after looking at both iPhone 4S and SGS2, chosed the later because it's lighter and has bigger screen.

i've had every iphone up until the 4s. I probably wouldn't have gotten a 3gs but I broke my 3g and needed a phone. I love my iphone 4 but after 16 months im a bit bored by it and the 4s does not interest me at all. I think now is a good time for me to experiment with android while Apple gets the 5 ready. I'll be picking up a galaxy IIs very soon.

I'm about to get the 4S. I have an Android right now (HTC Thunderbolt) and am just sick of everything that goes wrong with Androids. No matter what they do to the hardware and software it will still suffer from fragmentation issues. SO MANY different phones using different versions of Android at different levels... it's ridiculous. It will always be glitchy and unstable because there's no one dependable software for one dependable hardware. That's why I have concluded that although iPhone doesn't do EVERYTHING Android does, it does amazing things still and it JUST WORKS. With Android, half the stuff they advertise as being something that they beat Apple on, doesn't even work right because of all of their issues. I can't wait to switch to iPhone and know my phone will just work.
Your whole statement sounds like you repeating stuff you hear and not from experience. How does fragmentation affect your Thunderbolt ?

I have used android and iOS (currently on a S2) and have done extensive research and settled for an iPhone 4S soon.

Next year hopefully i will switch over to WP7/8 as i have expectations they will do great and i love WP7 design too. Or perhaps once nokia WP7s are out ill swap 4S for that.

I am not buying an android again as it simply doesn't interest me. It is all over the place and the open source argument doesn't help me do anything but give the OEMs and carriers all the free hand to ruin my experience. I would have tried the Nexus but google always short charges on their pure android device for some reason.

Hoping for QNX and WP7 to make good products soon. Android as the only option against iOS doesn't cut it for many of us.

The Galaxy Nexus is without a doubt the most tempting Android phone for me to date. If I switched to Android, it would certainly be to a "pure Google" variety.

Had Apple not released the 4S, I would probably jump over to a Nexus Prime.

However, I'm quite content with Siri, iCloud, the quality of the camera, 64gb of music storage, and the speed of the browser. I think I would miss all that stuff if I were to switch.

I constantly run with my iPhone using Nike + GPS, and I have replaced my iPod with the 4S 64gb. I don't think I could do the same with the Nexus Prime.

No regrets here at all. Tried Android for a year, didn't like it nearly as much as iOS. Love my new iPhone 4S--great camera, snappy operating system, terrific screen and lots of great apps/games. Siri is pretty cool as well.

I'm not sure what all the fuss is about this new Nexus phone. More RAM and better processor, yeah, that's great, but when I buy a phone I'm always looking at the quality of the camera. It shocks me that this Nexus camera is stuck with 5MP. I'd like to see a side by side comparison of 4S photos and Nexus photos when this new phone comes out--something tells me the iPhone will come out on top.

Higher megapixels doesn't translate into a better photo. I know many think more is better in most things, but this isn't one of them.

The main attraction of a mobile phone camera is the availabliilty and being able to use it anywhere anytime. In this regards, there's no difference between 4 and 4S. For untrained eyes and when viewed on small screens, I honestly can't tell the difference bwtween the output of the two. I'm sure on a 50 inch TV the difference would be obvious though. The thing is, if I'm that bothered with that tiny difference in the photo quality, I would have gotten myself a proper camera.

As days passes by, I'm more and more pleased with my decision to not upgrade to 4S, after visiting the Apple Store 4 times spending one hour each time I'm there to try out all the changes. I guess it is the same as feeling regret had I upgraded.

Being "stuck" with a 5mp shooter is neither here nor there. To be honest, in the past I've had 8 megapixel cameras in my phone and I still turned it down to 5 in the options because I have no need for 8 megapixel pictures.....most people have no use for taking huge pictures, and that's all you gain from more megapixels. It doesn't mean a better picture. As for comparing the 2 cameras, thus far the side by said pics I've seen the Galaxy Nexus either looks better or it is about even. One thing that the galaxy nexus wins hands down though is the shutter speed. It isn't even close. Take a look at this link and you'll see what I mean (they take about 6 shots AND THEN STOP...in the same time it took just to get 3 shots on the 4s). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n0fN55W9erM
