Apple won't loose the bezels. The shape is the identity of the phone. It's iconic. If they remove the bezels it will look like a samsung. And that's why they are there. Think about how many times just the outline of the phone and the home button are used in promotional instances not just from Apple but around the web, that instantly say iPhone without having to see a picture. It's like changing the shape of a Coke bottle. Not going to happen. There's too much invested in it. It's instantly recognizable. It was the same thing for the iPod.
I posted this exact sentiment in another forum and got laughed off for it. It's a bit naive to think conversation didn't happen in Cupertino. It's branding 101.
Besides I don't mind the height. It's the width that bothers me. I would have preferred a 5.3" to make it a bit narrower personally. This doesn't mean that in time they won't be able to change things. If the screen actually went edge to edge it would be narrower. They might introduce a size in between or something.
I do agree with the sentiment that they made one too big, and one too small. 5" would have been the sweet spot.
Yeah... if they'd made it 5 then it would have been pretty much perfect.
Also, I'm with you on the wide screen thing. I would've preferred narrower.
In fact, I think I'm going to let my son have my 6+ (well, buy it from me) and go back to the 6 (I preordered the 6 and then thought i really wanted the 6+).
I love every last thing about the 6+ except the width. I have small hands and the width bugs me some.
I dunno... since finding ANY iPhone near me is like finding a rainbow striped Unicorn (unless you're on Sprint) I have some time to think about it. LOL.
