Palpatine: quit being childish.

The good news folks is that a brand new MBP 13" is on the way and a phone number to follow up with Apple just to make sure the replacement computer is working correctly.
called applecare. standard with every purchase. enjoy it for the next 90 days. this was yet another avenue you could have tried before filing complaints, suing, and going online to ridicule others in the apple community.

So Apple is still a great company and I don't have to liquidate my 36,450 shares that I bought in @ $35.10 per share some years ago! Maybe time to go buy a few thousand more shares! Apple, keep being a great company and keep making me money!
it was a great company before and after you tried to sue it. for a stockholder, you sure are saying a lot of bad stuff about customer service, "junk," and recalls. enjoy your treasure mr. troll. i hope your niece enjoys her computer.

Back to ya

WoW!

36,450 shares!! Pleased to meet you Mr. Wazniak! :D

So you would dump 36,450 shares at todays value $338.04 over a $1200 laptop. Seems to me with that you might have just a little pull with Apple holding that much clout.

Hey, I am so small potato's it isn't funny. I am just concerned about the Apple's reputation and when I hear some employee has an attitude and mistreating customers I am all over that person...
For those who follow the markets, company PERCEPTION is often reality and people trade based on that perception.... and yes if Apple were to begin developing a bad reputation, in order to protect my investment I would first see if there is something I can do to assist the company and failing that yes I would sell my holdings to protect my portfolio.
.....................................................................

I too have a 13" MBP,bought in March of this year, week the new model came out. Had what I thought were a few problems with it. I made an appt. with the Apple Store in Akron near my parents home. I was a half hour late due to road construction, which more or less was my fault. A sweet rather attractive lady said "not a problem" when I walked in and said I was late. A half hour later I was out the door. The "genius" (yes, what a stupid name) said you have a year warranty, if we can't fix it we will replace it.

But actually it was the fine members of Mac Rumors that helped me fix the problem. As of course the MBP ran fine at the Apple store. And gave me the problem as soon as I returned home.
......
I am so glad that you had a good response from a good employee... you know I had a Lincoln Town Car once that had a most annoying rattle and do you know every time that car was into the shop the rattle went away! Must have been haunted....

The new mbp line has a whole new line of processors the I series, I3, 5 & 7.. it is suspected that there is a glitch in this new set of processors... if that is proven out Apple should be coming out with a correction and perhaps recall soon....

As I stated earlier it is impossible for any company to produce a 100% defect free product line... what is important though is HOW the company responds to the problem... initially the problem with my niece was a misbehaving employee, but after that was dealt with we did have to jump though some hoops. It is important when encountering a defect to persist in its correction. In the present case Apple did finally come through and so I think the company is still worthy and is still trying to push the limits... sometimes the leading edge can become the bleeding edge but I credit Apple for continuing to grow and develop. If there is a problem with the I series of Intel chips then Intel will have an issue to deal with...

She had her defective mbp in the store at least twice and sent to apple and the story was the same, computer is fine it must be software... And still it freezes.. Oh did i mention the only software on the unit was osx? !

yippy skippy.... Apple stepped up to the plate and sent a brand new replacement and it seems to work just fine... We fed ex'd the defective one back.... Thank you apple for doing the right thing!

You have got to be kidding right? Are you staying in your parents basement? Your statements not only do not make any sense they reveal a definite pathology. If memory serves you are the only one here that deserves to be ridiculed, beyond that I appreciated the input from genuine people. As it stands the replacement computer has been working quite nicely and is currently in Europe with my niece who is studying abroad this summer. For the meaningful input from rational people, thank you so much.... I wonder then who the troll really is? I wonder if that very childish person can just leave this die or if he will have the pathological need to challenge once again just to feel that he has the last word and to take the opportunity to spout just one more insult... I wonder if he knows that I am embarrassed for him...? Anyway... issue is resolved.... kid, give it a rest, get a life and let it drop...

Although no company can have a 100% defective free line of products, how any company deals with a defective product has great ramifications on the reputation of a company...

YEAH! APPLE HAS COME THROUGH... THEY CALLED MY NIECE AND SAID THEIR ENGINEERS HAD EXAMINED THE FILE DUMP AND DETERMINED THE MBP 13" WAS JUNK AND ARE SENDING A BRAND NEW REPLACEMENT... GUESS I DON'T HAVE TO DUMP MY SHARES OF APPLE AFTER ALL! ... This certainly has been a great concern it seemed the company was not at all behaving like the Apple we knew... for whatever reason the company has responded and a brand new computer should be here in just a few days...

If you were going to dump your shares based on one bad experience, then that speaks more to your character and mindset than Apple's. By your own account, it sounds as if you were the antagonist in the matter and were telling your niece what to do or even acting on her behalf ("so we had our attorney send a demand letter,.."). You're even antagonizing people in this thread by insulting their age, intelligence, etc.

I also find it odd how you can even attempt to extrapolate some sort of widespread issue with the 13" MacBook Pros based on a total of TWO cases. My MacBook Pro 13" has worked flawlessly since I purchased it, and of the people I know who have bought the 13" model, only one of them had an issue, and that was caused by a power surge in their house.

I'm glad your niece now has a working computer, but your attempt to portray both Apple and anyone that takes issue with your reaction as somehow beneath you only serves to undermine YOUR reputation and credibility, not anybody else's.

OMG,
You want to take Apple to court?
What are you looking to gain? - A new MBP loaded and settle out of court?

RoyalFlush AKs,

My niece bought a brand new MBP 13" and so called apple genius insulted her resulting in a complaint filed against him... she had her defective MBP in the store at least twice and sent to apple and the story was the same, computer is fine it must be software... and still it freezes.. oh did i mention the only software on the unit was OSx? Additionally, we met an older couple who their new 13" was freezing... with theirs though it turned out to be a defective hard drive... their unit was four weeks old.

With Steve Jobs now not very active we are wondering if apple is going down the tubes again just like it did the last time....

One thing is for sure, the shine is definitely off the apple especially when it comes to so-called genius'.

Is anyone else having problems with brand new MBP 13"? Did apple finally honor its obligation to you?

Should also mention that Apple Inc was unresponsive to our demand for a replacement or refund initially, so we had our attorney send a demand letter, and yesterday our niece got through to someone who said he will send a file to the engineers and only they can approve a replacement... meanwhile here sits a young college kid wanting the best computer to finish her educational experience and is working hard to MAKE PAYMENTS on a computer that does not work and my wife and i are eating crow because it was our recommendation to her that she could never go wrong with Apple even though it is more expensive. Steve Jobs please come back... we have had GREAT working Macs ever since the Lampshade iMac and that computer NOW 8 YEARS OLD is STILL working great!

Okay, Steve Jobs is not Jesus. Him being "present" does not mean 100% of all the machines will work perfectly. Sht happens. No company can brag about never having an occasional bad apple in the bunch. I also have no idea what you mean by "not around" but he's busy marketing and designing. He's not actually putting together these laptops. You seriously need to chill.

Even though Steve Jobs is the face of Apple he has NOTHING to do with your unfortunate situation. Fall Semester is still a month away so just be patient and putnyour Apple Care to use.
