My wife's Zugu iPad Pro 13 Case (M4) 2024 in Berry was delivered today. Fits great and she loves the Berry color. I had bought the Apple Smart Folio she has been using since she received her iPad. The Zugu has edge protection which is nice and while it may make the case slightly heavier, it is barely noticeable.

Ordered this cheapo unit as it mirrors what I have preferred in the past…

Trifold Slim Stand Protective Cover with Soft TPU Back, Supports Pencil Pro and Pencil(USB-C), Auto Wake/Sleep (Black)

from the well known IMKHO brand. 😅 TPU back, tri-fold, pencil groove instead of slot, covers majority of the edges. Reviewer said the images of cutouts on sides were incorrect, that unit they got lined up with all the necessary openings. We’ll see.
This is almost the best inexpensive iPad M4 case, but…

It has the dreaded SIDE-DROOP (sides in landscape mode). The middle right side of the case never quite gets up high enough above the screen to lock-in over the top of it, so it’s never fully seated. Both sides fall off the edge of the iPad when you grab them with your hand for any reason.

Why the droop? In order to accommodate the double rows of speaker holes on each side the case has four long slots cut out, and removing that much material took away any possible of real side stability. Had they cut tiny individual holes out over the speaker holes instead of the long slots the sides would be stable enough to avoid the droop.

Other than that, the design is the tried and true Tri-Fold. It has great coverage all around with a shock absorbing back shell fully surrounding the iPad. It’s light and inexpensive. The tri-fold works as all tri-folds have, and lifting the cover turns on the iPad. The cutouts are in the right places for the speakers and the mics.

Some won’t think the side droop a disqualifier, for those this is your case. 😎

Just purchased a Proporta Folio case from Argos for £25. Hopefully it should be with me tomorrow. I had a Pipetto Origami case delivered to me today but I’m sending it back as it was scratched in the corners of the clear case.

Update: I haven't removed this case since I bought it. The right side (landscape) droop is limited and I find I can easily ignore it. The case is snug and operates just like any quality tri-fold iPad case.

I like it a lot, much more than my Zugu which is bulky. Best cheap iPad M4 case on the market, and better than 90% of what's out there.

Sure, I use much of the time with a magic keyboard & Pitaka magez case, then somtimes swap out to a magez folio for lazy stuff. The madnetics swap around easily, unlike the strangely incompatible magnets from ESR products.

I’ve found the Zugu case, which I have, and the ESR case, which I did have, to be the best out there in terms of protection, variable angles, and overall quality. ESR has additional features but is very heavy, for my 13 iPP, which is why I returned it. Zugu is light weight, good looking, and ideal for those not needing a keyboard. If you use your iPad a lot, taking it out with you frequently, one of these will suit you best.

I got a great folio case for my iPad Mini from a brand on Amazon called Holimet. Was waiting for them to release one for the Ipad Por M4. They finally did, and I got one. Very pleased with it. If you’re a fan of folio cases, definitely check this out.

Using the ESR magnetic shift case for my 11” M4 iPad Pro. Its great to have a basic case by removing the magnetic portion when needed, then attaching it when wanting to travel with it for cover protection and/or an adjustable stand.

I’ve been using the Burton Goods Leather Magic Keyboard Case for a few weeks and really like it.

It definitely adds weight and bulk to the whole package - my iPad is now thicker than most modern laptops - so that’s definitely a drawback.

On the plus side, though, it adds some weight and leverage to the bottom half of the keyboard, so I can tilt the iPad screen without the whole thing tipping over - it largely fixes one of the major annoyances of the MK setup. I can actually use it on my lap.

Also, I found the edges of the MK to be overly sharp and uncomfortable. The case adds a bit of a buffer for the wrists. I’ve seen a few reports of the MK delaminating along the bottom edge (I assume from friction and usage), and the Burton case should help prevent that.

Finally, it does a great job of protecting the whole package. And it looks great.

It’s certainly not for everyone - the size alone will be a non-starter for many - but I’ve been very happy with it.

I have learned there is protective cases, keyboard cases. That is and important search term. I do not care for keyboard cases. With that said I would to have a protective case but with a option for a keyboard. Pitaka is what I have ordered. N

I ordered the Pitaka magez case. I like its add on options. The fact the magnets in the case back are powerful enough to snap the iPad Pro onto a refrigerator door was a big selling point. Since My iPad is housebound the open bottom this case has is OK. My iPhone is doing the job it was designed for. The Pitaka FlipBook Case is the perfect solution if you need to carry your iPad out of the house.

This is really funny. I purchased the Otterbox Symmetry Series Folio in the beginning and never used it because the Defender case became available. The Defender case was a huge disappointment finally out of desperation I put the iPad 13" Pro in the Symmetry case. You know something it is a really good case. Not as protective as the defender but I does not bulk up the nice and thin M4 Pro. The big problem with the Defender was the crappy design of the Apple Pencil Pro dock. On the Symmetry you have a slide up clip that holds the Pencil tight and secure. I am not a big fan of folio cases but the folio on the Symmetry is very nice it folds out of the way. and fits tightly over the screen to protect it. At its base it has a magnetic attachment.

Been looking for a quality folio case that protects the sides as well and just noticed Moshi is still alive:

I’ll be purchasing this soon and update here

I have this case but after placing my iPad in it I could not get past the fact the iPad is exposed at the bottom to facilitate the Magic Keyboard. In order to get maximum protection you have to spend $100 plus bucks the get the rest of it.

For the same reason, I don't have much affection for laptops; I don't care for keyboard cases. I have the Logitech Combo Touch Keyboard Case; it is a good one. The problem I have is the way the keyboard folds away and with the keys out. You can remove it, of course, I prefer to keep everything together. there are some keyboard cases where the keyboard rotates around, but they are very bulky. I find the Otterbox Folio case a good one. The Zugu Case improves on the folio cover.
