For the same reason, I don't have much affection for laptops; I don't care for keyboard cases. I have the Logitech Combo Touch Keyboard Case; it is a good one. The problem I have is the way the keyboard folds away and with the keys out. You can remove it, of course, I prefer to keep everything together. there are some keyboard cases where the keyboard rotates around, but they are very bulky. I find the Otterbox Folio case a good one. The Zugu Case improves on the folio cover.
I flip the keyboard over on my Logitech Combo and reattach. That way, the keyboard stays together with the case, but they're protected.

I searched for a long time for an iPad pro M4 case that would protect the iPad all around while not being too bulky and don’t case/housing for pencil. I found the perfect solution, and it’s a case from Pipetto Origami No1. Iam very happy whit this case.

I have the base Pipetto case. I did not like the open bottom and the need to add more to it to get the protection I wanted. I rather liked the Otterbox Symmetry 360 Folio case, but I was not enamored with the magnetic attachment of the folio cover. I have the Logitech Combo cover, but I did not like having a keyboard; it bulked up the iPad. When Matt turned me on to the Zugu case, it was the end of my search. The ESR case is also a close match. But I like the simple method the Zugu uses to store the Pencil. Above, you can see the secure slot the Pencil mounts in for charging.

I agree with you; my iPad is protected on all sides, including the bottom. See more photos.

Looking at this case, I realized I have a different case. 🙄 I lost track of what I had tried. What I have is the Pitaka iPad case for the 13" M4 PRO. The open bottom makes it usable with the Apple Magic keyboard for the iPad. It also has other add-ons like a handled carrying case that it magnetically latches into.

I don’t use a keyboard with my iPad, so I don’t consider those solutions. 😀 Zug was in my shortlist, but compared to Pipetto, it’s much bulkier. I dismissed ESR right away because, when the closing part is attached to the tray, it becomes way too thick. I searched for other solutions everywhere, from Amazon to AliExpress, and nothing even came close to my choice. Overall, I’m very satisfied, and if someone is looking for this type of solution, I highly recommend it.

what's the best light weight case that doesn't have Apple Pencil holder protrusion, protects sides in storage, and feels great when used as a tablet not just an angled docked tablet on a table? TIA.

The Holy Grail!

Bought and returned an ESR case with removable folio. Was poor quality and the inside of the folio is rubbery instead of the usual soft lining.
Been thinking about the Benks ArmorPro but it is sold out on their site and extortionate on Amazon.

The Holy Grail!

Found my grail. not my top color pick but hard case to find, nigh impossible.
And it's darker color / less feminine in person than in photos actually (like the first photo in a lot of lighting)

The feel of this thing is outstanding! Light and exactly what I was looking for.
the side have an appealing subtle roundedness to it too that complements the shape of the tablet very well.
TPU flexible / scratch proof back, and typical Smart Folio front.

Enter the:
'MoKo for iPad Pro 11 Inch Case (M5/M4) 2025/2024, Ultra Slim Stand iPad Pro 11“ M5/M4 Case with Soft TPU Translucent Flexible Back Cover Flip Folding Smart Case for iPad Pro 11'

Only one currently on Amazon is one with flowers:

Have had Moko and similar cases before not bad for the price.

Apple gave me a free folio case so sticking with it, light and thin.

Looking at a MGK though if can get a discounted one.

I plan on upgrading my iPad Pro soon. I will very likely buy a Logitech keyboard case to go with it. I find you get more protection and the keyboard is very nice to use.

I have the logitech Combo Touch Keyboard case, for my 13" iPad Pro M4, and it is a good one. But I don't like it because I am not a fan of laptops. This dislike harkens back to when laptop type computers were more like paving tiles in size and weight. I also look for maximum protection and the Logitech Keyboard Folio does not afford that. The Logitech is rather awkward to use. It's flat keyboard has a awful feel. The combination does not have the balance of a laptop. The iPad unbalances the setup. My suggestion is to instead encase your new iPad in a ESR, or a Zugu case, than get one of the compact bluetooth keyboards. Logitech has a bunch of compact bluetooth keyboards that are designed as a Mac keyboards, some even with mechanical switches. Next get one of the slim briefcases, or slipcases, that will house both the encased iPad and the keyboard. This way you can have you cake and eat it too. If you don't need the keyboard it stays in the briefcase. These outboard keyboards have the advantage of internal batteries that last for a very long time between charging and they don't use the iPad for power

If you want an attached keyboard get a Macbook Air instead the Macbook Air is about the same price as an iPad Pro.

Just got an M4 11" iPad Pro from Best Buy on clearance at an amazing price. I want to find something better than the Zugu case, which I have on my current iPad Pro (2020). The case is good, but it started coming apart on the front after a few years.

Does anyone make a similar case but better quality than Zugu? I see that ESR seems to have knockoff versions of their case, but I suspect they'd be lower quality (as per the reviews I've seen).

I don't use the iPad with a keyboard, and it's almost exclusively in portrait mode.
