If you're criteria for an Android phone is one that runs stock Android, you basically are limiting yourself to just the Nexus phones.
Nexus and Motorola. Yes, those are the only devices I've owned since 2011. I've had a stock Droid 1, HTC Thunderbolt (terrible phone), then in 2011 Samsung Galaxy Nexus, Nexus 4, Moto X 2013, and Moto X 2014. Besides the camera and battery life, they've been the best phones I've ever owned. A lot of reviewers and people love how fast their G4s or S6s are out of the box, but months later they start slowing down considerably. The stock devices just don't have the same downsides. Unless they get the buggy mess that was 5.0... If Samsung could make phones with iOS, they would destroy it with their skins and make it run terribly slow.

Stock is so much more freeing than using a skinned version (even though Moto is technically skinned). But, my want for better camera software and a smooth experience has drawn me to get an iPhone this fall.

It's a phone, so not really. I get bored with some of the apps on it from time to time. But if I can call and text, what is there to be bored with the phone for?

I said it in another thread in the Alternative OS that with enough repetition like in the movie, Groundhog Day, ANYTHING can get boring. A smartphone or mobile OS can only do so much on what it can do for you. You press an icon, it opens an app. It closes. You check another app. Snoop around on someone's FB. Play a game. Close it. Open. Close it. Open and close, open and close, etc. Like sex. Gets boring too. I got clubbing, drugs, drinking, womanizing, and partying out of my system in my 20's and early 30's.

Find another hobby. I try to build up a backlog of videos I need to watch and books I need to read. The thing is smartphones, other gadgets and internet made our lives TOO PERFECT. They took the fun out of some hobbies like collecting comics and music albums or watching TV. What's the point when most of the fun is already in our hands? Alot of my favorite movies are in digital form now saved onto an SDD that I can easily throw away my entire DVD collection like I can do with my CD collection. Once my 500 GB runs out, I can go buy another at 2 TB and fill it with HD movies. Thanks to TubeMate and DailyMotion, I already have the entire 97 shorts of The Three Stooges from Columbia Pictures featuring Curly but haven't seen them all yet. I haven't seen the Freaks and Geeks one-season run yet. It took me a month to watch all the 180+ episodes of I Love Lucy. I haven't even got started on other high replay value comedies yet like Looney Tunes cartoons or informative biographies or relaxing The Travel Channel shows. So much backlog while I am also checking video reviews of video games or all my sports documentaries covering a range of sports. I haven't started reading any of my e-books. Thanks to my Android smartphones, so much content I haven't seen it which can keep me busy during downtime for years...

Me, I am just waiting for ROBOTS to take over the world. For now, I am getting back into video games after a near decade long hiatus from it. Portable handhelds so I can watch TV at the same time. But even that can get boring too since there are alot of things I like to do.

I work with someone that went from a Note 2 to a Nexus 5 and today just showed me his Nexus 6. Was Apple all the way before that. I guess Best Buy was running a great sale on the Nexus 6's? Personally I need something like the 6 Plus else I'm constantly fiddling with Android Launchers widgets, themes et. al.

Had the 6+ on launch...used for about 4 months, and then sold it... Got the Nexus 6 [ already had a Note 4 ] and enjoyed swapping between'em for a while... Now, yesterday, got the itch and ordered the 6+ 64GB SG again from T-Mobile!!

So, yeah, even with my busy work, social, sport/gym etc schedule... I do find time to get *bored* of my mobile devices.. I don't think I can just keep one device, unless I absolutely have to, for an extended period.

Oh, also picked up a Lumia 640 from Wally to get a peek of Windows Mobile :p

Iphone … why wasn't it a Keeper for Daily use. Or you like Android for Rooting you're phone .…

When I get bored with my iPhone, I jailbreak it. I'm sure this isn't ideal for most, but I enjoy it. I love lifting the limitations.

Bored… Try a Flipping Flip Phone. Thanks Boring

This. It's a personality type, I guess – I feel like I need the reliable "boredom" and limitations of iOS to keep me from endlessly trying out customizations, like I used to on Android. (I actually f'd up recently by adding some iPhone launchers and widgets, which sucked me back into that uncomfortable OCD thing for a week or so.)

I've only had iPhones since the 3g. But now it seems like the more the iPhone ages the more its just the same. I remember when i went from the 4 to the 5s. that was a big jump. Now i have the 6plus which i almost traded for a 6 recently only because of pocket ability (plus cash on their end) but i know i'll just go back, i've gotten used to the size already. I kind of wish there were more optimized apps for landscape mode on the plus. I've contemplated about trying a galaxy note or s6 edge or something like that. But i'm too used to iOS. and i keep hearing how android phones either come with bloatware or people run into problems. they do look like really nice phones though.

your thoughts?

When I was deciding on a phone to get, that was in my budget of AU$400 - AU$500, I did look at the option of going with an Android phone, to be honest, but in the end, and because I already owned an iPad 4, I went with an iPhone 4.

iOS needs a radical overhaul and the obeseness with the hardwares dimensions needs to be replaced with attention to detail, testing and innovation. The 6+ has shown with bendygate that this leads to fragility.

I switched back to Samsung Note 4 from 6 Plus. Though the 6 Plus is a beautiful phone and serves it's purpose I was bored with it after a few weeks. Ive had iphone 4S and 5 but having a 6 Plus with the same boring ecosysytem as the older models wasn't working. Much more freedom on the Galaxy, glad I switched back.

I wouldn't say bored but more like content. I don't have the urge to upgrade like I used to. Apple addressed my biggest complaint which was screen size. While I would like a bit more RAM it's not that big of an issue on a daily basis. I have no intention at all to upgrade to the 6S. I'll roll with the 6 for another year and likely upgrade to the 7. I did the same thing with the 5S, skipped it. They have gotten so fast already the speed improvements the S models bring isn't really noticeable to most users in day to day use. The other add ons don't justify the cost of an upgrade to me, just wait a year and get those upgrades with a new body.

Bored with my phone? No. It's a tool. I don't get bored with a screwdriver or a wrench, therefore I don't get bored with my iPhone.

I guess this easy tendency to boredom must be a millennial generation affliction?

The camera still takes great pictures and videos, the apps I use are more or less very refined and do get their jobs done without any hassle.

No need for me to look anywhere else.

Further improvement to the camera and Apple Pay will be the icing on the cake when I upgrade.
