I have a S5 & S6. I went large this time for the Ultra. I only have a 6" wrist, so this may or may not work out in the end, but it's worth a look see. I love all of the info and battery life.

Looking for deals on the 7 around Xmas, here in the UK the shop Curry’s 2 yrs ago were selling off the S5 SS for around £300, so I snagged one.

If no great deals come up I will hold on another year before upgrading as I have to pinch myself sometimes and remind myself that 10 years ago I was rocking a MASSIVE Garmin 310xt for sports and now I wear a slither of a watch which does all that did and SO much more.

Anyone else getting a series 7 instead?

Managed to get a 45mm Series 7 from Amazon for £350 as I don't see the 8 as a worthy upgrade over the 7.
I was all set to upgrade from the Series 6 until I went online to order it. The watch bands are what stopped me. I don’t need more watch bands. I have had an Apple Watch since they debuted and have amassed a half a dozen bands I really like. The solo band colors are awful and the braided band is $50 more. Apple, why not just sell the watch without a band? Take $50 off the cost.

For me, the main reason to upgrade is for the temperature sensor. That said, I have less than stellar circulation in my extremities so I am wondering if it would be at all accurate. The temperature at my wrist is going to be vastly different than my core body temperature. And so, I am on the upgrade sidelines for now.

The temperature sensor won’t even work in the way people want it to at launch. It’s for cycle tracking and sleep tracking. It won’t detect body temperature.

Yup. Ordered a 41 Series 7 for $299 as a Christmas gift for my husband. I was afraid if I waited there wouldn’t be a 7 available and I didn’t want to spend the extra $100 for a series 8 when he won’t really need the temperature feature.

This will be his first AW so I’m excited!

Hi ... I've got a S6. I'm interested in the 'new' sleep tracking app as the current one is very poor compared to 3rd party apps. Do you (or anyone) know if the new app will only function properly with the S8 because of the temperature sensor?

This is important for me in terms of possible upgrade this year.

I’m not sure about how it’s better on the series 8 but watch OS adds improved sleep tracking. It’s now able to detect REM sleep l, deep sleep and light sleep etc. Maybe update your series 6 to watch OS 9 and see if the software updates are sufficient before looking into a hardware upgrade.

Here in the States, they had some great deals on the 45mm SS S7 a week or two before the S8 launch ($529). I picked up one of those and held it until the S8 launch….wanting to see what the S8 would bring. I kept the S7….so glad I went for it when the deals were on.

I‘m waiting for a new design (Squared off, etc…), new chip built on 3nm (more efficient/longer battery life), brighter display outdoors (2000 nits like the Ultra). Until then, I’ll keep the S7 and be happy:)
