Exactly. The Sprint version is set for the 16th, so that makes the AT&T date believable until you realize it's a Sunday. That just doesn't seem like the best day of the week for a big product launch, imo.

Yes!

Hopefully it comes out on Sunday, but that's not looking that hot.

I've been waiting for this phone for a month and a half.

Did contemplate the Nexus Prime, but decided against waiting for it as it would take too long. (I'd guess an early November release for the 1st carrier, and then release on AT&T around March..too late for me).

I keep hearing that it will be available on AT&T very soon. I would guess next weekend? Some people were even pointing to this Sunday online but I find that hard to believe.

As for waiting for the Nexus Prime. I feel like you can just keep waiting for the next best thing and never end up buying a phone. Something is always going to come out in a few months and be better. Engaget says the Galaxy is the best phone on the market so I am tempted.

It IS available on Sprint tomorrow, but we know nothing firm about aTT yet.

Trust me, I'm in the same boat as you. If it actually does come out Sunday, there's still a chance I'll go get it...and hope for Prime or iP5 firm info before my 30 days are up. Tired of waiting and need some new hardware.

The Sprint version comes out on the 16th. The T-Mobile version isn't announced-on-date yet.

And AT&T releases most of their phones on Sundays. With the iPhone being one of the many few that releases whenever the hell an outside company wants it to (Apple, in this case).

Of course i'm biased...that's why i'm on MacRumors.com.

The iPhone is good on it's own irrespective of OS but it becomes GREAT when you have a Mac and actually leverage the native tools.

iCloud sync > Web sync

Openly admitting to being biased destroys your credibility.

I think the iPhone is great without a Mac. I don't/won't own one, and I have done great.

I stand corrected. Just trying to recall from my memory.

Hmm, the iPhone is the only AT&T phone I've owned, so I'm not too familiar with others.

Sprint, not T-Mo. T-Mo release date hasn't been mentioned yet either as far as I know? And it was the only one not available for hands-on at the event.

Logical Fallacy

openly admitting bias does not change possibility that what I say may be true or false. Credibility is a perception that is abstract from fact.

I think Android is a good OS but it's best off with someone who's web centric. If your life revolves around native apps particularly on the Mac an iPhone is hard hard hard to beat.

Did not know this...if true, a little more encouraging for a release this weekend. But still, I've been told it isn't by ATT employee's and a friend who works at BB Mobile store (and has been spot on about other releases, I know people around here don't respect sales persons info).

Quote fail.

If you were intelligent, you could've figured that part out.

Sorry, you lost all credibility with me. Argue all you want.

I have been using a Samsung Galaxy S2 for over a month on the AT&T network.

It is like it is from the future compared to my iPhone 4 and Blackberry 9900.

They both sit in a drawer while the SG2 never leaves my side. Everything works buttery smooth and very fast. The large Oled screen is the best I have ever used. The 8mp camera has as many settings as most digital cameras and focus to with in inches!

I know that many here would never consider leaving Apple but the SG2 is likely more powerful than the iPhone 5 that everone is waiting for!

Maybe I'm blind, but I do not see a date anywhere on that page.

I've seen that page, and I've added my email address. Nowhere do I see a confirmation.

the press was told by AT&T it would be released September 18. slashgear, as well as about a half dozen android enthusiast sites have stated this as well. still, not 100% confirmation until you actually see it in stores/online. But i'd say that 9/18 date is concrete, give or take a day or two.

The HTC Vigor (iP5/Nexus Prime competitor) will be announced by HTC on September 20, then Apple will announce their phone in late September. Maybe September 23?

Yes, I have both a Galaxy S II that I got on a business trip to the UK, and an iPhone 4. They are both activated on my AT&T account.

I really like the Galaxy, it's quite a fine accomplishment on Samsung's part.

Fast, fun, and equipped with a bright, beautiful 4.3" 16:9 display, I'm quite satisfied.

There's nothing like choices. :)

I had a Galaxy S (not 2) for a few months last year and a Nexus S at one point as well. All the 'Antennagate' stuff kinda put me off the iPhone 4, a decision I ended up regretting, as you can tell from my signature.

Long story short: I find that no matter what phone I try, and often enjoy to begin with, I always end up returning to the iPhone. Although the Galaxy S2 is a sweet phone, arguably superior to the iPhone 4 in many ways, I'd pick an iPhone over it any day (whether it be an iPhone 4 or 5).

I'm passing on the S2 and waiting on the Prime and iPhone5. Apple would make it an easier decision for me if they upgrade he screen size and ram.

same here, but I'm not quite sold on iOS 5 yet. I'd have to use it in person to really know if multitasking has been integrated better.

this is a very old school way of thinking. as long as the phone keeps the bezel at a minimum it won't be much of an issue. hell, i could even see myself using the Galaxy Note, and thats 5.29 inches!

that would make it a two hand phone.

at 3.5inches i can just about reach every inch of the screen with just one handing while also holding it with said hand, i have to readjust my grip sometimes to reach the top left (im right handed)

imo 4.5inches and above would make impossible to use the phone fully with just one hand.

4inches would be perfect, not too big so as battery life, portability and useability is hindered but big enough.

If I remember correctly the At&t version is 4.3 and the others are 4.5.
