I couldn't remember if the X had a bigger camera than the Xs or the other way around

How much should we bet that this case works just fine on the X?

I’m sure it’ll work just fine.

All XS cases fit the X. But X cases won’t fit and XS.

Because of the camera being positioned ever so slightly to the left a bit more. Not because it needs to be- because Apple are smart and want as much money out of people as possible. So they have made sure that people going from an X to and XS cannot reuse their case.

Given it’s based on the silicone case with a battery on, I’m sure it’ll be fine on an X. That screenshot it from a 3rd party site.

If it doesn’t fit, return it.

Those saying it constantly charges the phone, it doesn’t. The phone uses the case battery first, then your phone battery. It’s designed that way - it worked perfectly on my iPhone 7 when I had one. The phones battery will not ‘charge’ any more once it’s at full capacity anyway.

I am on my X a lot, I’d say I’m a heavy user and I get through from 7:30am until midnight, every day, easily. Surely people don’t need to be plugged in all day as they’re saying?!

I'd be interested IF it provides real protection (good front lip, etc) after all a cases first job is for protection. If not I'll keep using my OtterBox and a portable charger. I am a power user who travels a lot.

Bought one to use for an upcoming trip, gonna be really nice not to lug around my external battery charger!

On second thoughts maybe not. I don't like the idea of a battery case that can't be turned off.
If it's anything like the previous battery cases from Apple, the phone uses the case's battery first before using the phone's battery. It's really smart. It's basically like having two batteries. I have it on my spare iPhone 7, which I use as an alarm. When I check the battery widget, it'll show the case's battery has gone down but the phone's battery is still at 100%.

For reference, do you happen to know what the previous Apple battery case's capacity was?

I really want to get this case, but I don't know if I can justify spending $130 when I already have 10 cases. I guess I can sell some of them...

"The iPhone 7 battery case contained a sizeable 2365 mAh battery; the older iPhone 6S case was 1877 mAh. Note that Apple did not make battery cases for the plus-sized models until this generation."

It does seem like a small capacity....but I am waiting for the store to open to get mine. Maybe it won’t be heinously bulky!

Folks, if you want the case to charge wirelessly, which pretty much all of you will, then you'll have to take the sacrifice of mAh that will come with it. Unless you want like a 2" thick case.

Also, any iPhone with 4,000+ mAh will undeniably last a very long time.

Just kidding...it didn’t arrive yet. And now the app is saying they will be in store on Friday? My order still says for pick up today. Can anyone post if they have had their’s show up yet at the store?

You are lucky then as mine won't arrive until Friday via FedEx and nothing shows available in Colorado stores until 1/23. I guess Apples don't love Colorado Apple stores lol

The thing you're missing here is the voltage is at 8.7V as opposed to 3.7V on the older cases. That would mean this case has the equivalent of a 2,730 mAh.

I ordered one. With the amount of traveling I do, this will be nice peace of mind. Love the fact that it can charged on a wireless pad too. I bought a $30 battery case off Amazon for my Max, which has been great, but I'm more excited about Apple' official case.
