I did... Then my kid dropped it and scratched the back. I the upgraded to an LTE model, and have a power support air jacket. It is 99.5% as sexy as it is nude! and the back/bezels are fully protected...

Is use a Smart Cover, but I usually remove it when I'm using it. I simply reattach it when I'm done and sit it cover down so I don't scratch it. Pristine condition.

Smart Cover when packing it in my bag. Otherwise caseless with a clear protector for the back.

I've gone commando with all my Apple Mobile products. The only cases are when they go in a bag. Overall my stuff is in pretty good shape. I get normally top amounts when I sell to companies.

Lucky Skin carbon on the back, Bodyguardz Pure on the screen with a Smart Cover for non-use. I put my Air, along with my Logitech Ultrathin Keyboard Cover and Adonit Script in an Incase iPad pouch on the go.

I run my mini retina pretty much naked. Did take a clear matte finish BestSkinsEver screen skin for an iPhone and cut 4 circles from it, each about 0.75 inch diameter. Put one of these near each corner on the back of the iPad. This is almost unnoticeable cosmetically and keeps the iPad slightly elevated when on hard surfaces to prevent scratches on the back. Also provides more grip on slick surfaces.

When traveling I slide it into the nice softly finished tablet slot in my "man purse". I am thinking of picking up a very lightweight cloth sleeve for use at home when the iPad is sitting out on the coffee table for extended periods - just to reduce dust accumulation.

I had Apple Smart case for my iPad 2 and it protected very well. Now it sold when I upgraded to the Air I bought Apple Smart cover but I need back case I am thinking about Speck back case. :apple:

Smart Cover and naked back. I put it in a small case to carry or actually in cold weather it fits into some of my outerwear pockets.

Naked when using it. Bought a slip case from SFbags when I travel with it.

I absolutely love the look and feel of the iPad Air in the Smart Case. Yeah, the case is expensive, but after holding my iPad in it (they were nice enough to let me try it before buying it) and feeling how NICE the texture is and how well protected it is, I had to go for it.

Smart Case all the way. It was worth the $80 to protect my $800 tablet.

Mine goes naked during use, and sleeps well in my RickShaw sleeve:

the new ipad air is so fragile and i feel like i can just bend it or shatter it upon impact of just grabbing it a little too hard. beautilful though. i did caseless ever since my previous one the ipad 3 but that thing was a built like a bunker.

i think i will eventually go case-less...thats what ends up happening with phone and tablets i own. i protect it for a year, then enjoy a damage-free device for the remaining year until i sell it. would prorbaly do the same for ipad air.

I never use any case or cover for either my air or 5

I love their beauty and grace

And u klutzes with ur carelessness annoy me

Did u ever hear of momentarily placing the Air on a table or surface somewhere while makin the bed

But no, let's b careless and treat a five hundred dollar thing like a cheap toy, break it and even confess to being suckered by that inane AppleCare ripoff idiocy

On the other hand I waste a ton of money on Thai and Indian food, so we all got our problems I guess

A friend of mine just bought a padded envelope from the local dollar store as his "case" when transporting it and goes case-free when using it. I'm tempted because of how expensive cases are and wondering if others do it without incident.

I did. I only have a suede sleeve for mine and i dont miss NOT having a cumbersome case. They look hideous and absolutely horrendous. Might as well put your ipad in a full carry on luggage.

I had a huge otterbox on my ipad 3. I can't do it on my air. It is so nice to have a light tablet. Having a case defeats the purpose, you might aswell have saved the money, and got a ipad 4.

Going for a full skin, and a smart cover.

Cases for electronics are like grandmas who buy plastic slip covers for their couches, you never get to enjoy your purchase to the fullest.

No, as fragile as it is it needs some protection. My air has a case with a magnetic cover that it slides into and a incase padded case whenever I take it somewhere.

I also get a case on my iPads for 1 reasons, I resell them often to upgrade and having a mint iPad I can get 80-90% of its value a year later. And I can keep the case for 2 years as apple tends to change form factors every 2 years or so. Also expensive tech should be protected, no matter how safe you are **** happens.

I used to run with only a Smart Cover. So light and sleek.

Until I dropped it and got an ugly notch in one of the corners. I was lucky the screen didn't crack. Now I'm looking for the toughest case I can find..

I just use a Miniot wood cover on mine, which looks amazing. I'm considering a skin for the back but haven't done it yet. I also put it in a sleeve for travel.

I just bought an iPad Air today and didn't buy a case. I may eventually but I am just using this at home and have a Retina Mini to take with me that has a smart cover and a slip case.

Very tempted. Very, very tempted. But alas, I just can't do it. This thing is quite a bit more difficult to hold than, say, an iPhone and it just feels like it'd be easier to drop. I've got a Smart Cover for the front and a Caudabe Shell for the back. Same thing I had on previous iPads and it's worked out well.

I do wish I could go case-free, but something in me just won't let me do it.
