Yep, on one of Apples own webpages. Went to my .mac gallery and was scrolling down to the bottom of the list of galleries and it crashed.

I don't use safari TOO much, but I did have it crash twice last night (on 2.1, jb FWIW). Both times while reading. That seems to be how safari crashes for me lately. AFTER it's loaded and after I'm scrolled and when I'm not even touching it. It's been sitting for like 10 seconds with me having not touched it while I read the text on the screen, and then, poof, back to homescreen. I hate that. I almost feel better when it chugs along and crashes, I feel like it was because it was working hard. The crash while I'm doing nothing is just annoying. The two crashes were on the same page, at different points in the page, but the same condition of reading and not touching it. Very strange.

I have had Safari crash two times, both while on ESPN.com webpages. It is hard to tell if it is the phone or not because their webpages are terrible and even bog down a normal browser sometime.

Safari Crashes

Mine crashes almost every time I use it. It also reloads pages every time I bring one to focus. Why?

Just try to enter text in an https secure website while the iPod is on and it goes kaput......

I had 5 Safari windows open and when I loaded up a forum to post a reply it crashed on me. It's happened a few times since 2.1, but not nearly as often as 2.0.2.

I had a few crashes pre 2.1 but post the update it happens much more frequently, at least twice per day. Sometimes the crash will bring down the iPhone leaving me with a frozen, blacked-out screen. I'm not convinced these memory related problems can be entirely solved until the hardware improves.

I am in same boat..... never crashed on me before, now does. just goes to the home screen.

Sad to say that before, I had no problem with safari but since updating to 2.1 my safari has crashed right after opening. This however has only happened once to me. Before 2.1, my apps crashed a few times but once I installed 2.1, my apps have not crashed once besides safari. So mixed outcomes with 2.1.

I've had more Safari crashes in the few days I've owned the iPhone than I've had Safari crashes on my MacBook in more than a year. :(

Another crash with audiobook.

Well not crash, but crash and burn.

Loading up TUAW.com and listening to an audiobook had system LOCK UP repeat one line and require HARD REBOOT.

Sadly, this is a constant problem since 1.14+

Nope, then again it rarely crashed for me ever since 1.1.2 upwards

On second thought it just froze on me now whilst trying the eurosport site, the phone wouldnt respond to anything and i had to reset. On second try it worked albeit slowly...very slowly but it didn't crash on me. I think there's something on that site thats giving mobile safari troubles

Appleinsider forums worked fine for me as did Kicker

I correct my position having used safari heavily in recent weeks its been crashing pretty much every time i use it. Sadly this is the case on Leopard as well. I think safari needs a major update/overhaul

Safari crashes on me everytime I use it - and the funny thing is that when it does, it's not even loading a page. I'm just reading an article and *BOOM* black screen. A few seconds later I'm at the home screen.

Launch Safari - repeat the cycle.

Frustrating as anything.

Mine seems to crash more often now. Rarely does it go longer than 15 minutes of browsing before it crashes.

I visit a lot of sites that make heavy use of javascript so possibly there are some Safari bugs in that area.

For me and it sure is frustrating. It crashes more than I was on 2.02. Hope they fix this issue in the next update.

Safari crashes all the time

iPhone 3G v2.1 Jailbroken

Safari crashes constantly! Every 15min or so... I can't really work on my website from my iPhone (It used to be OK since v.1.1.4)

Apple please fix it:(

Crashes more than previous fm versions.

same experience for me.... the rest of the system seems more stable than 2.0 but safari is worse for me. Crashes on pages where before I didnt have problems. For some reason seems worse over the last couple of days even though I installed 2.1 on the Friday it came out....
