Anyone had trouble with Apple Pay on Pre-Orders?

I see. Last time I made a large purchase on CC was for over $3,000 (car repair). I had called my CC company beforehand and let them know to expect the charge. I was told I would have no issues since I let them know in advance, but I guess I was fed incorrect info.

Are the gift cards in wallet a choice when you select other payment at checkout?

I have been worried about how that works, had planned on just scanning the card.
 
OP, sorry hear you had issues. I’ve pre-ordered iPhones, Apple Watches, etc with Apple Pay ever since it was an option and never had a problem. It’s been my preferred method since it’s debut.

ETA: FWIW, I use a Citi Costco Visa for the CC with ApplePay.

Have you used it when ordering an item that didn't ship for a few weeks or more?
