What about WMWiFiRouter?

I'm thinking I'll just get a Windows Mobile phone that can run WMWiFiRouter. That way, when I'm not at home and/or can't find wifi (which is rare) I can just use my phone to surf on my Touch.

$80/month for what I need and a great network.

Well I got a 1st gen iPod Touch when they were released, then that made my have even more iPhone envy. I finally got one on March this year, which is sold in July to get the iPhone 3G. In some cases getting a Touch might make you want an iPhone even more.

I can't have an iPhone. I have Sprint and I'm not willing to give up my awesome cell plan for at&t and be charged 3x as much. I'm sad about it, but will I get over it if I get an iPod touch? Sucks that I have to carry around a cell and an iPod though.

What do you think?

Heck no. I have little to no use for a 2 yr contract cell phone (sacrilege I know :) ) I just use a tracfone when I have a flat/emergencies otherwise it sits in the glove box. I don't need to be available 24/7. Love the touch, fits my needs and does what I want. Just hoping they fix the safari crash bugs and wi-fi issues.

I use to carry a phone, a palm, and a ipod nano!!

My iphone does all the job of all three...plus i can hook it up to my MacBookPro and use it as a 3G modem :D

Even though i don't use up all my monthly minutes having access to Wikipedia/email/Google maps/facebook/u tube videos! (one of the reasons why i dont have any videos/movies on my iPhone) at any time and any where i go is fantastic...

It use to take me a good few hours to plan a conference meeting, checking the emails for final details, printing out hotel receipts/local maps/flight details, setting up my TomTom, update my diary, booking restaurants...now i just click mail on my iphone and its all there, infact for my last trip i didn't even look up where the hotel was until i got off the plane..simply turned on the GPS and Google maps did the rest!! I'm using about 800MB - 1Gig data on my iPhone per month which alone is worth the £35/month :)

I was losing faith in Apple after the graphics chip in my MacBookPro died after 3 months of use, but the iPhone really is a fantastic product...and the best thing about it is that the operating system still has room for so much more development...cannot wait to see what Apple's got planned next for the iPhone :D

No envy

I have a few friends with an iphone and im not impressed. I have an ipod touch and i pretty well hate the way the typing works. That and you cant send pics via mms, cant take video, cant take out the battery, o yah, and not push e mail. I used to want one till i got a BlackBerry Curve, its got everything you could ever want. And if theres something missing.....you can almost always buy what your looking for. I know some may think different but BBs are probably the most functional phone in america. I think a lot of people want one just so they can say, "i have and iphone"

Iphone

I have an iphone craving.....not for the company they suck. All I want is the speaker and camera...I currently have an ipod touch 1g :( Do they do a special kind of exchange for an itouch 1g to a itouch 2g....if not they should:(

Iphone

I have had my 1g touch since the week it has come out. Love everything about it and it goes me everywhere. Our contract with Verizon expires next week and we've been doing some seriously thinking about getting the iPhone. My husband is really against AT&T, which I understand. We're waiting until the new BB Storm is released on Nov. 21st to make the decision.

Part of my desire to want an iphone is the lack of wifi availability when I'm out. I am not always in a hot spot and can't take advantage of that capabilitiy and I have needed it.

I am going to hold off and check out the BB Storm and see which is better. I figure if we like the BB and it has internet and the other stuff I need, I'll still have the touch to play with. Then i'll have the best of both worlds.

It's funny to watch people assure themselves of their ($2000) iPhone purchase by putting down the touch.

:)

LMAO, how true.

Honestly I'm not envious of the iphone, but I would like to have GPS in my touch. Problem is that I'm not willing to be raped by ATT with their plans, and ATTs reception is horrible in my area. If Apple really wants to open the Iphone to the masses its time to start selling it with other providers.

i did have iphone envy, until i realized i had to whore out my wife and sell my testicle just to afford a decent plan. Luckily about 80% of the buildings at my college have Wi-FI so my ipod touch is constantly connected, but it would be nice to have one

-cheers!
