An OS has a user interface, certain functionality and lack of thereof, graphical cues, choice of typography, certain user experience solutions.

The OS provides You with basic features and the ability to run other apps - those apps is what You should focus on.

The OS is what you see most of the time and the core elements of the phone are integrated with it (text messages, making phone calls etc.). Moreover the graphical user interface of the OS is shared amongst apps (dialog boxes, buttons, widgets, tabs, input boxes etc.). Finally certain apps are impossible or their user experience is affected by the limitations enforced on the OS. You can get bored/tired of that.

Not bored at all. Had the jailbreak way as well and found out it was pointless and not worth the unstable experience.

May the OP live in interesting times....

Seriously, if you're bored, then take up programming and create something better (I am not being sarcastic).

New to the forum guys :) I just switched to the iPhone 4S from Android. I used Android for about 2.5 years between many devices. Many were high end Android devices. Let me tell you, the performance on Android devices is like walking through mud compared to iOS. iOS is a little boring at times, but its well worth the sacrifice to not have to deal with the "always existent" lag on Android.

Think yourself lucky you're not Neo. All those lines of green code... now thats boring.

Bored of MS windows yet?
I'm sure you are, but you keep using it don't you?

Im so used to a jailbroken iphone, I put my iPhone 5 away and went back to using my jailbroken 4S until a jailbreak comes along for the iPhone 5

Who said anything about MS windows?

is this not a legit question that I've asked.... I'm sure that not everyone here is completely happy with iOS, we all read the threads and the rants ( yes including this one), threads like this need to be made so Apple can take notice ( assuming they read these things maybe , maybe not), but there are a few features that need to make their way to iOS, I feel like Apple takes one step forward and 2 steps back sometimes, I'm not asking them to completely start from scratch, iOS is unique, but it's getting a little bit old in a way , needs a refresh, I might just might be the only one who holds that opinion, and like many stated here yes I do have the choice of just leaving and spend my money somewhere else, but the fact is I do like Apple devices I just wish they would improve on a few things otherwise people like myself will leave or just wait , or if I'm lucky a jailbreak will release soon

Lol, no not at all.. it's just works. It Is just a phone after all.

An expensive phone

had everyone iPhone since 1st release and with every iOS update I wish for a few more features but most of the time doesn't happen... waiting for something big to happen, currently have an iPhone 5, but it's getting pretty boring without a jailbreak, not much room to customize anything

I know I'm not the only one who is getting bored with the iPhone, something needs t happen and I don't mean a bigger screen I can careless for that

So what exactly are you hoping it can do?

Till this day, I am still discovering new stuff about the phone ever so often, so it is far from stale. Plus, the screen is the one thing I look at the least, I am almost always on one app or another. That's how you entertain yourself, not waiting for your phone to amuse you. :p

Here's the thing, what's your name? Uh... whoknows87?

As You said there are numerus threads that are exactly like or similar in tone to this thread you've started. I did a simple "iOS" search and found these on the 1st 4 pages.

Why iOS 6? It's more like iOS 5.2 ...

How Would You Change iOS 6

Point of view: iOS 6

iOS 7

iOS 6: How embarrassing

iOS 6.X or iOS 7

What's wrong with contributing to one of the above threads instead of adding another thread that will probably roll off the 1st page within a week. And yes I do see the iron in the fact that me posting a reply on your thread will probably keep your thread on the 1st page for another week. So, your welcome

The question of whether I get bored is actually pretty pointless. An OS isn't there to entertain you, it exists for specific reasons. It's supposed to do some stuff like being able to run applications, which then may entertain you.

Anyway, I do get frustrated with the lack of certain features. So, I'm reliant on a jailbreak for properly using my iPhone 4. I admit that some features I've installed from Cydia aren't really necessary. For example, I don't really need NCSettings, but it's comfortable to have those shortcuts. What I do need, though, are tweaks like Zephyr (it replaces my not-always-working home button completely with touch gestures). And tweaks like that will NEVER be implemented by Apple. IMO the home button is the main part of the device that contributes to obsolescence. And of course Apple is not really interested in people using one and the same device for a long time. They are no welfare company and their aim is to make money, regardless of the ***** they say in interviews, things like "our aim is to make great products. and because of that, we also make great profits, but that's not at all our intention".

I've been using iOS on my iPad for almost two years and I'm not bored with it in the slightest. Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't the applications supposed to be the entertaining factor for a smartphone? I want my OS to run everything as smoothly as possible, which is why I prefer iOS.

Are you getting bored with it because it just works?
Maybe one day there will be threatening viruses and trojans for iOS,
but for now it will stay boring....;)

I wish the features were more in depth. Like battery life, which apps are using the most. Or data usage, which apps are using it. Etc etc.

Aside from that its ok. But I feel a lot of things could use a revamp like messages, email, safari.

Not bored, just want it to be even better. Small tweaks to certain things could make the OS a ton better to me. Also, I really want a prettier lock screen after looking at some Android and Windows Phone 8 screens.

I hate iOS 6; I'm really hoping they turn it around iOS 7. But no, I still prefer it as my mobile OS.

Really wishing iOS7 will have a major UI overhaul. Apple needs this to keep succeeding. Android is far, far outpacing them with its UI.

I love my iPhone 5 and everything but if iOS7 and maybe (if I last that long) 8 don't carry any significant overhauls, then I'll just assume what I suspected all along: Apple ran out of things to think about and their era of creativity is over. It died with Steve.
