Be grateful Christmas celebration is only one day. Imagine if it was 7 days like Chinese New Year or 3 days like Muslim Eid or (feast) .
Well i wish if Christmas was 4 -8 weeks 😆😄
Christmas is already an 8 week+ holiday. Christmas decoration are already sold -- and Christmas music playing on radios -- mid-October, and people don't take down their Christmas lights until 2nd week of January. The only reason it ain't longer is because of HOA rules.

Not in my house! I stop playing the radio in November.

Not every radio station plays only Christmas music; some play world music, or classical music or classic rock & pop (the ones I listen to - and, when they do play some Christmas themed music, it is sensibly rationed so that it is not overwhelming).

One is overwhelming for me. Hence I switch to my iTunes exclusively in December.
Other than that mostly Absolute radio in the car.

No.

Actually, Christmas is a pagan solstice feast on to which a nativity celebration has been added.

While it is not necessarily my own favourite time of year, I don't remotely begrudge those who enjoy it, and wish them well in enjoying the season.

Moreover, a well dressed, tastefully decorated tree is a real pleasure to behold.

Personally, I dislike winter, (rather than Christmas, although this year fr personal reasons, there is a special bitter-sweet element to the feast), but a feast to mark the darkest day with the message that the days may soon start to become longer and more full of light cannot but meet with my approval.

Excellent posts, @D.T., by the way.

Do you insist that they share your negativity towards the Yuletide celebration?

Or, do you make clear that you view their enjoyment of seasonal entertainment with contempt?
Yea the movies and music and spending time with family are my favorite parts. I can endure the people miffed at crazy early music, but at least shut up during December. You get the other ELEVEN!!!

I never listen to the radio in the car; I don't have Sirius XM or whatever, just whatever the local FM stations are here. I always either play a CD or plug in my iPhone and pull up iTunes. I much prefer to choose my music rather than have some radio station doing it. When I'm in the mood to listen to Christmas music, fine, otherwise, no thanks. Some years I listen to Christmas music more than I do other years. There were a couple of years after significant deaths of people close to me that I didn't listen to Christmas music at all. Other years since then I do listen, but it's not still something I want to hear all the time for weeks and weeks. So far this year I really haven't spent all that much time with it.

Well it’s the worst time of the year again. I never cared for the holidays. Seems like a waste of time and money.

Anyone else year rather stay home and be a hermit on the holidays.

Peace and quiet.. Nothing wrong with that.. That's pretty much 365 days a year anyway for me.
