Bought my iPhone 4S 3 months ago and I will be keeping it for another 2 years or better said I will buy a new iPhone until this one dies, so I can't sell it.

I give my iPhone to my girlfriend, buy the new iPhone, and sell the one previous to what I give to my GF.

This time: Gave her the 4S, will buy the new iPhone, and sold the 4. Next year, I will probly keep the 4S in order to have a back up phone.

I never sell mine. I always give it to my wife, and then get the new device for me.

Her old phone usually becomes a backup, or bathroom ipod dock player, or a phone for my mom (because she is always losing them)

This. Having a backup is a great feeling..

Never sell my old phones, 2G still works perfectly as a backup phone and 3G is getting a bit long in the tooth but works fine for my GF.

I'll keep my 4 and use it as an iPod that will always be connected to a speaker.

I sold my original iPhone and 3G.

I'm handing my current phone over to my mom; she doesn't want to lose her basic phone, but needs an iPod Touch of some sort. So, my phone will serve her as an iPod.

I agree. I still have my old Alltel HTC Touch...not Touch Pro, just regular Touch. I charged it and fired it up the other day just to be nostalgic. It doesn't have WiFi and the GPS was disabled by Alltel, but it was neat to go back in time about 6 years and remember what a "great" phone it was back in the day.

Man, I miss Alltel. Don't get me wrong, I am fine on AT&T, but Alltel was a great company.

I'll be keeping the iP4, as I did with my iP3G wen I upgraded. The iP4 will be used for overseas use as its unlocked.

I Give Them All Away...

I give mine to family members first...

After which I give the others to friends, as I have lots of smartphones, not just iPhones. I find it particularly satisfying to see the smile on their face.

Really Old Phones (yes I keep some spares) I give to a local shelter for battered women. They have a program to give them working phones.

The way I look at it, I'm very fortunate to have what I have, so If I can give something away, I am happy to do so.
