Has anyone dropped their phone while in the Rebel Clear case? Just bought an iPhone 11 Pro a week ago. Put the Rebel case on 3 days ago, it fell out of my pocket and dropped on the floor today when I went to the bathroom. That’s about a 2ft drop. The screen didn’t hit anything but is cracked on the edge. I’m super frustrated because I did so much research. I’ve only had otter box cases and drop my phone all the time...even on concrete and have NEVER cracked a screen. Just wondering if this has happened to anyone else.

On their Instagram feed there are several other people that complained of the exact same issue. The comments get deleted but I’ve read multiple people who have claimed to have had small drops that have caused the glass to break or chip. It doesn’t seem to offer much in the way of protection.

Interesting to read of the cracked screens after such small drops.

He really does go big on the drop protection 🤔

Just purchased the rebel series at a discount from their Ebay store. Should have within the next few days.

Worse case scenario, resell it and attempt to break even

Mine was just delivered, so I will be able to get a look at it when I get home from work. Kinda of excited, but not overly optimistic that this will be a winner for me

Very interesting case. Not sure if this is what I would use daily, if the sides were closed, it’s a winner for sure.

I have had the Rebel frosted case for months now. I was the first to sing the praises of the case but after a month of use it has joined the graveyard of used cases. The corners are just way to thick and just do not feel right in your palm. The back is thick making the phone feel unnecessarily thick. The frosting began to scratch due to any and all particles entering between the phone and case back. This case is not worth 40 dollars. Regardless of what engineering he used to produce it. 20 dollars seems much more reasonable.

I have the clear case and love it. I like the minimal feel but definite protection. The phone has sustained a few drops onto concrete (toddler loves to steal and throw my phone..smh...) without any damage to the phone, although the case sustained some bruising.

I’m still using my Rebel after a few months. Every now and then I think about looking to see what else is new or going back to my Apple silicone, but I haven’t done it.

I have the rebel case (carbon fiber look) and it’s still the best case I have used. For all you minimalist, this is your case. It actually provides protection unlike most minimalist designs and love holding the sides.

Have mine for a Xr since release and it’s still the best case I’ve had. Also does a great job with fingerprints, which is a huge bonus

My Kevlar Phone Rebel case just came in today. My first thought is that I really like the feel of the case on my 11 Pro, the little lip on the inside of the case definitely helps with handling of the phone. The phone doesn’t feel too thick with the case either. But, these are just day one thoughts as of right now. I do like the case though.

Just sent them an email about an iPhone 12 ship date. Perfect for the mini for those with shorter fingers (like me) who use it one handed a lot. Mini is arriving Friday Nov 13, but I already bought 3 cases on Amazon with cushy corners and plastic backs with the idea of cutting down the sides. Just came across some of those 50 foot YouTube drop tests today and found out about the Rebel. Want one, but based on the delays reported here, not holding my breath. Cutting down a cheap case won't be as good, but good enough for now.

Why not go with Switch Easy Nude? Same concept, better executed IMO. The branding sucks though.
Thanks for the tip. Looks similar, but the case does extend the width of the phone. Still, might try it anyways as it does decrease the effective width. How does it do with 50 foot drops?

I just ordered the Switch Easy from Amazon. A little hard to find using their search but here it is. I also ordered the similarly designed ASONRL Slim Case. So now I have 5 cases to try when my mini comes. It is going to be a long week with a misbehaving 6S.

Both these cases are a fail when it comes to a primary purpose of a case: protecting the phone from damage. The Switch Easy case is a very thin (about 1.15mm) hard plastic that provides zero protection from damage other than abrasion in the corners. While I don't have my 12 Mini yet, it doesn't appear to extend above the screen. Zero protection no matter how the phone falls. Kind of crazy expensive at $20.

The Asonrl case is little better. PC backplate with TPU sides. But also very thin at about 1.5mm per side (adds 3mm to x and y dimensions), far from the most minimalist cases, but mostly scratch protection. This case is also overpriced at Amazon at $13. It is really a generic case readily available on eBay for $2.50, and AliExpress for as little as $1 (but long shipping times for both from China). There is also someone on eBay selling it in the US for $8 and much faster shipping.

So until Rebel makes a case for the Mini, I'm going to simply modify a case that offers more drop protection but delete the sides to maintain one handed thumb use. That will be effective for 95% or so of most drops. Fun to see these cases, but all but one are being returned.

Would you have any photos from multiple angles?

This it the case i’m eyeing up, should I get an iPhone 12 & have no need for drop protection, only scratch resistance & front/rear lay on table design + naked grip thanks to no sides.

I also hope the Phone Rebel Gen 2 has no sides & looks like this...

Edit...Has anyone been in contact with Phone Rebel? I’ve tried via Messenger, but aren’t getting any replies.

I've heard bad things about these cases not actually being as drop resistant as advertised and as viewed in videos.

I often watch this guy's YouTube videos but would never buy one of his products for how badly the first release of cases went. Letting people order and not shipping for months without communicating etc.
