I got the Apple MagSafe clear and a red silicone one. Returned the clear immediately after trying it on. As others have said, slippery, fairly ugly and the Apple logo was not centered in the white circle on mine. It was also more difficult to remove the phone compared to the silicone.

Pretty happy with the red silicone. I’m not having a lot of the lint magnet issues others have mentioned, it comes off easily, and grip is good enough. My only issue is I do have concerns that it might come off in a drop since the lower part sometimes pushes off when I take it out of my pocket.

Ive never really done phone cases before, but I have little kids now so I need one when they’re around. Will probably get a Sena leather sleeve for when they aren’t as that’s what I’ve used on all my previous phones.

I got the Apple Navy Silicone case, which is great, and also the Totallee clear case, which I like but it's an absolute fingerprint magnet.

Has anyone used the Peel hard transparent case?

I got the apple silicone case in Kumquat for my blue iphone 12 Pro, and I really like it. I don't find it very slippery, and it's soft to touch. No marks from the mag safe charger yet either. Will use this for times when I'll have my phone out more, planning on getting the Apple sleeve thingy when it comes out.
alright I'm curious - does your case have a hard plastic ring around the charging port? I've watched some reviews on YT and for the black and white ones (at least from what I've seen) looks like it's a soft plastic down there unless I'm wrong. I bought the plum and it kept digging into my pinky so I returned it

Nope! It’s just silicone all the way across the bottom. My pinky sits there too and it feels fine!

Oh wow. I wonder if mine was a defective one or something. It definitely had a hard plastic ring around it. Thanks for confirming. I think I may order another color and give it another try

Unfortunately the silicon case isn’t very durable and it’s a lint magnet (although not as bad as I thought). I have been very careful with it and never dropped it once.

I will be returning this and get the Apple leather case (preorder on Friday I believe). It’s a shame that Apple have put the price up because of MagSafe or because they can...

Apple could have followed the path most other case manufacturers use with clear cases and use a stiff but more flexible plastic. I hadn’t realised Apple used polycarbonate, that’s another reason I would have avoided this case then. Polycarbonate doesn’t absorb impacts well when it’s very thin. It flexes under impact well as it’s used in shields etc but I’d be concerned if that energy was being transferred to the phone it’s supposed to be protecting.

I have a clear ESR case on my 11 Pro Max right now which has a hard back and soft sides and completely encloses the iPhone. Apple could have done the same.
As an owner of the clear case with a silver 12 Pro, the circle doesn't bother me. The main reason for the polycarbonate design is to avoid the yellowing that all TPU cases suffer to a varied extent, I have a TPU case from Ringke for the X that I like a lot but this does feel of higher quality.

I owned a Spigen Ultra Hybrid clear case that was flexible and didn’t go yellow in the 24 months it was on an iPhone 6S. I’d definitely recommend that again. Also if the white detail doesn’t bother you then that’s good, but I don’t like the look of it at all. The missing bottom is also a disadvantage IMO. It’s also personal choice though so all good.

That’s interesting, I was warned off of them by the group in the 12 UK Pre order thread! Good to hear it was durable in the colourless sense for your usage.

That’s the beauty of the diverse colour options, the personal preferences can be numerous!

So it sounds like the case fit is not as snug as last years? Are they trying to compensate the tighter fit with the magnets?

I haven’t seen last years so can’t compare, but it’s fairly flexible which I think makes it come off more easily. I did expect the magnets to help hold it in more, but it doesn’t feel like they do anything at all as far as holding the case on. As far as I can tell, the only thing really holding the phone in is the physical structure of the case itself. There is no real magnetic attraction/resistance that I can I feel when I put the case on or take it off.

Just received my Graphite 12 Pro. It seems criminal to cover up this masterpiece of design with the black silicon Apple case. I should have got the clear case. Ordering it now.
I'm thinking of getting a black silicon case for a gold PM ... and then getting a hole punch to add some detail to the side of the silicon so you get a hint of the gold band.

Is it heavier (magnets) than last years?

The silicon case is very nice, but it really covers up the beauty of the phone. It is like putting a Burka on the phone. I returned it and got the Apple Clear Case which really looks great. It shows off the beauty of the design. I also tried the Torras Diamond Clear Case. The Torras is softer and has no magnet ring, but the Apple case looks more crystal clear and shows off the phone better.

The clear Apple case would never be easily removable on the 12 Pro without the bottom cutout, and the cutout actually does a much better job protecting the bottom than the previous 11Pro silicone case, which also had a similar cutout. The biggest advantage is how it doesn’t interfere with bottom-up swipes.

It’s definitely slippery, as was the previous Apple clear case, and the look may be polarizing, but I like it.

However, I will be exchanging it for another, as the top of the white ring appears to be delaminating from the inside of the back.

UPDATE: Apple replaced it and the replacement is perfect. And, there is a significant increase in magnetic bond with my MagSafe charger, which is interesting, and perhaps indicative of another issue with the original case Besides the cosmetic one shown below.

And it doesn’t have that awful white circle on the back to detract away from your stunning new iPhone lol.

They really should’ve offered one without it for people who can live without MagSafe

Jobs would’ve dragged the designer out of his office by their ear

I got the Torras Crystal Clear for my 12 Pro. It was my favorite case for the XS, for being very slim and having a minimal screen lip, but the 12 Pro version doesn't have the same feel. It's both thicker and has a higher lip. Still on the hunt for a thin, clear TPU case, but everything else I'm seeing looks pretty chunky. The Totallee looks like it could fit the bill, but I've seen too many complaints about the buttons being hard to push, which is my biggest pet peeve about cases.
