Anyone sending back their iPhone x?

Let's have a bar at the bottom of every app so the clueless know to swipe up to close...even apps like ibook & kindle where all that stuff should disappear when reading. The bar is actually brighter than the text itself in the kindle app and just sticks out like a sore thumb at bottom. The ibook app is even more surprising since Apple optimized it for the X, so why a bar at the bottom of each page? This is what Apple intends right now.
Looking at navigon, i notice that app auto hides the bar at bottom. That's the ticket. Check out Fantastical calendar. White bar at bottom just gets in way. In netflix, it goes away. Mario Run, a game featured in app store as "works great on X" has a white bar at bottom throughout game.
Yep, it's the little things. Nice phone, but it's a wait and see if things get better. I'll probably return, enjoy an 8 Plus, and give Apple & the 3rd party devs time to get it right for X series (assuming that's what's coming)

Quit getting caught up in numbers. They are misleading you. The X is taller but the same width as the 4.7” phones. The Plus is wider and caters to the native 16:9 aspect ratio of videos like YouTube.

Not actually. All of thoe people online count the status bar on the plus as display area when its not usable area.

I am definitely on the fence here. I have both the 8 Plus and the X. (The wife doesn't want the 8 Plus (she wants a 6) and I'm not sure I trust my 16 year old daughter with it.)
The notch is kinda bugs me. I'll try to get used to it.
The white bar always present bothers me a little.
Hard to get used to the smaller size after carrying 6+,7+, and 8+.
I have IUP on both phones ($48+$56). I am not sure it's worth $56/month for me.

It’s certainly usable to the millions of iPhone users who play full screen videos, games, and content.
I’m not sure why you’re trying to make a point that’s so obviously false.
In fact, the iPhone X status bar is 40 points tall compared to 20 points for iPhone Plus. There’s more wasted space displaying status on the X if you want to go through that argument.
True but people assume that 5.8 inch will be bigger then the plus, and Apple should have done a better job saying that the X is just thinner

The X is thicker than the 7 and the 8.
Apple has advertises the X as the “future of the smartphone” not “future of the 4.7” smartphone.” To the typical consumer, the X replaces the Plus.
Apple isn’t able to deliver clear messaging because they want people to buy today, not a future iPhone 11 Plus. So you end up with some dissatisfied customers after they hold an X in hand.
I’ve re-set FID (at arm’s length) and really not noticing a difference. I’m not sure if I’m doing something wrong or if it just doesn’t like me. Oh well.
Yeah now that I am using it in the day light Face ID is opening it about 40% of the time. I think it is prejudiced against beards.
Thank you so much for this, went to Display & Brightness to adjust Auto-Brightness and thought it was gone, the screen looks brighter with that turned off.
Although I still don't like that if you just turn the phone a little bit, I can clearly see the colors changing from warm to cool, so much for a better "OLED" display, still don't know why people wanted this so much and I can clearly see why Apple waited so long to use OLED, guess they only use it to not lose customers but at least for me, LCD is better in this regard.

Well, it depends, if you watch Youtube videos, which most of them are 16:9, yes, they look bigger on the 6/7/8 Plus models, but if you look at movies or series in a wider aspect radio like 1.85:1 and 2.39:1, they look bigger on the iPhone X.
Wrong, the X is not the same width as the 4.7" phones, neither the actual width or that of the screen.

Lmao have you even held both phones? The width of the 4.7” phone to the X is so similar it is hard to even differentiate. Hate to break your heart but perhaps you should check it out yourself if you think otherwise. I can fit the width of the entire X within the screen of my 8 Plus.....

i have cancelled my order after playing around with the X three times today. i really wanted to like it so badly but everytime i hold my Plus next to it, it feels like a downgrade, especially considering the price tag. from the narrow screen, the annoying CC gesture to that tiny keyboard. its like using my old iPhone 6 full time again.
at the end of the day it is running the exact same old iOS and I cant justify 1.149 Euro only to have no bezel

Same here - it has clearly noticeable deep scratch right above SIM card slot! I didn't want to go thru pain of returning the phone and re-ordering to waiting for another one to arrive with long waits!

And I can fit the entire width (and height) of my iPhone 6 within the screen of my X.
With the leather case on.

I didn't mean within the borders of the X's useable screen area - sorry for misunderstanding. But the 6 DOES fit inside the X, with the case. The "useable" area of the screen is the same in width (startup the 6 in your pic, like you did the X), and the whole phone fits in length within the X's borders.
Sorry I can't take a picture as both phones are my only cameras at the moment!

I've had the 6 Plus, 6 S Plus, and the 7 Plus.
I'm super happy with my X. Sure, if they come out with a larger version next year, I'll undoubtedly get that, but I've been thrilled with the X so far. Not a chance it's going back, heh.

After playing with it more and more and the fact my wife wants the 8 Plus. Looks like I'm going to keep the X.

As has been established a million times in the forums, the X is smaller than the Plus overall, and especially in width. It is the exact same width as the regular 8. It's taller than the Plus, but the notch and the bar at the bottom make it have less useable real estate than the Plus.

I can reach the other side with my thumb and I don't have "massive" hands. But I'll admit the Plus is a better phone when you just get used to using two hands some of the time.
