This is the case ill be using till Mophie comes out with its case. Was spoiled by the mophie on my 4 and the battery life it gave me. Was sent a tracking number for case and says will be here tomorrow fedex.

Which mophie did you have? Did it offer good protection? How was the size and width of the phone? I have a feeling that when they release one for the ip5, it may not be as wide because they will now have more room due to a taller phone. The lightning cable might also make things smaller as well. Overall, would you recommend it?

I don't usually like hard cases on the phone, even if they're clear. I like to hold the "nude" phone. However, I do want something to keep it in when I'm not using it and walking around. I don't want to put it in my pocket without protection.

Here's what I use with my iPhone 4S and have ordered for my iPhone 5. I'll just be using the leather carrying case, not the plastic cover: http://www.marware.com/c-e-o-prestige-plus-iphone-5-case-leather-wallet

But since they won't be shipping to me until sometime in October, I went ahead and ordered the OtterBox Defender for delivery on Friday.

I just picked up this sleeve, http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008PNK5RC/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00
until the case selection improves and can be tested. I don't trust putting my phone into a case that was made before the iPhone was officially announced, which a lot of these were. A bad fitting case can damage your phone more than not having a case, I really don't want something thats going to scuff or scratch my phone. A sleeve can't really do much damage and will keep it clean and scratch free. Also it doesn't effect the appearance of the case while it's in use, with most of these cases people won't even be able to tell if your using an iPhone 5 as opposed to a 4s without getting a close look that is.

I ordered this one, but it hasn't shipped yet. Cheap until the one I really want comes out for the iPhone 5.

That is one ugly case. You should return it... The iPhone that is. :p

You don't actually clip that to your belt do you?

Their case for the 4S had a felt liner and didn't scratch my phone at all. I had the case on and off dozens of times over the past year. Of course you want to make sure there isn't any debris/dirt/crap on the felt before sliding it on your phone. I assume the case for the 5 will have the same lining.

Yes, I looked the description on their official site. Just ordered a black one

My wife loves the Incase Slider, but I prefer something more minimal like their SNAP cases, or even lighter is the Feather from INCIPIO. Have that on my iPhone 4S and it's done surprisingly well. It's taken a couple of drops and not damaged my phone.

I'm the exact same way. I had a Slider for quite awhile. It was a great case.

However, when it got a crack on the side I switched to the SNAP. WOW, what a difference. It doesn't offer quite as good of protection as the Slider but it's way thinner. It has done a fantastic job protecting my phone from drops, etc, while keeping the form factor.

I was going to post this exact same thread.

I realized that I don't have screen protectors or a case for Friday. I went on monoprice and ordered the protectors (which may or may not show up by friday) and I looked on amazon for a cheap case. I really only wanted to spend about $5 cause I want an otterbox commuter from Verizon (25% discount) when they are available.

Shopping Amazon only because of my prime account and 2 day shipping.

So, if anyone knows of any cheap "get you by for now" kind of cases/bumpers, let me know.

Also, if you know of somewhere to get some screen protectors that will arrive by Friday, bonus points.

Looks like Amazon will sell a 3 pack of screen protectors for ~$10 (prime, be here friday). I just spent $5 on two 3-packs from Monoprice.

Why do you need screen protectors for a screen that you can take a key to and it won't scratch at all?

I'd like to see you post a video of you doing this to your phone... Legit.

I bet you get 200 hours standby on your battery too.

In other news, I ordered an otterbox commuter case from Verizon and bought an incipio. I will choose between the two (otterbox) and return the other (incipio)

You need to try the INCIPIO Feather. It's not as slippery as the SNAP case, and it's even lighter. I love it on the 4S and hopefully it'll feel just as good on the 5.

I know they don't, which is weird but Target put them out early.

I put a picture in that thread at the top and compared it to their iPhone 4/4s case. :)

Hmm.. good find! I wonder if they ordered those based on the leaks, and maybe the don't fit quite as well as the ones they're going to release in the next few weeks.
Did you happen to buy one? I'd be interested to see how they fit.

I didn't buy one. I kind of had the same thinking, I want the phone in my hands to check fit. I mean, based on the specs we have all seen it looked like they would fit fine and were the right size. Since Speck is a popular case I am thinking they got the specs ahead of time to make them correctly because we need cases, haha. That wouldn't surprise me.

I just think my Target put them out before they were supposed to. I think they only put them out early this week because when I checked last Saturday they were not there. I want to check some stores today as I think the day before the release is when a lot more cases will be out.

Has anyone come across a wallet-esque case yet? I keep my wallet in my side pocket because of my back problems, and wouldn't mind slimming down to a driver's license and credit card with my phone.

This was the case(s) and screen protector available at Best Buy as of yesterday.

They have a bundle deal going when you purchase a case and screen protector. The set would cost you roughly $35 total plus tax, but with me buying an extra case, it cost me $62.

They had plenty of color options as well, but I opted for a white hardshell and clear tpu.

I'm looking for a pouch type of case. Just to have the whole phone covered when I put it in my gym bag or at the gym. All other times I will be using it naked. Any thoughts? I sock would work great but I won't do that lol

I just picked up an Incipio DualPro at the local Verizon store. They had Otterbox Defenders there, too, which look good but I decided to go with something more simple for now and get the Defender or something else, later, pending reviews and what else might appear in the next few weeks.
