If the S10+ ran iOS I would have pre-ordered one already. And this is coming from someone that has only owned iPhones since the 3GS in 2009.

Samsung has always made lovely hardware, it's always been their software (read Android) that's been the problem for me. If I could put iOS on a Samsung phone I would probably own one.

I agree completely. I don't want Android. Also since I own and love my Apple Watch I wouldn't want to give that up just for a S10+ running Android. I prefer iOS too.

I'd like Apple to release a few different model of iPhone than they do today. Different form factors, more experimentation etc but I know that's not the sort of company they are.

A lot of people (read trolls) can't get it into their heads that Android is NOT a suitable alternative to iOS for many people and desperately try to 'convince' (read troll) you into why it's so much better.

I already know Android is worse than iOS. I already know I like iOS much better than Android. I already know I dislike Google's business practices. I don't need to be better informed or convinced of the error of my ways.

iOS as in the calculator like os that can't do concurrent multi tasking?

Ok :)

It seems like you use the word "troll" very loosely here. By your definition, if someone defends iOS and takes the position that iOS is better than android, wouldn't that classify them as trolls as well? It sounds more like be have concrete preferences and opinions that are not going to be swayed by a length forum post, but that doesn't make the opposite view point (aka a viewing opposed to your own) worthy of being classified as "trolling".

Personally, the Apple Watch does have a strong hold on me. Android is a great OS that presents its own set of pros and cons. Unfortunately, due to a lengthy and disastrous customer service experience with a unlocked Note 8 purchased directly from Samsung, I will never buy another Samsung phone.

As a iPhone owner/user, are any of you starting to feel the pain from sticking with Apple and watching especially this year so far, many innovative things coming to other phones and we are still using devices from a company who seems to have decided to stop innovating, and just release the same things year after year but make us pay more for it?

Dont get me wrong, I love Apple. I have the XS Max, Apple Watch Series 4, New iPad Pro, Airpods, Macbook Pro and 2 Apple TV boxes.

At what point do we as Apple Consumers stop allowing Apple Eco System which is what they depend on to keep us buying the devices that are falling more and more behind?

Just something I was thinking about today.

Seeing the new phones over the past few weeks and months that have been coming out, I feel we are getting kicked to the curb by Apple and EVEN IF the last 2 weeks of releases have kicked Apple in the a$$ to wake up, it will be at least 2 years before we see anything new and even then, it will be 2 years still behind Samsung and others.
[doublepost=1552135793][/doublepost]Sorry to the above poster, I didn’t mean to screengrab your message. Bloody iPhone SE...

For me, the issue with Apple presently is that they haven’t released a smaller, affordable handset, like the iPhone SE. Yes, people say that the XR is affordable but at £750, I don’t really class that as affordable, when you consider the pricing on the SE/some of Samsung’s more budget phones. However, I don’t just blame Apple for this as a lot of manufacturers e.g Huawei also charge a lot - it’s just the way it is.

I love Apple software (though I do prefer some of the customisation available on Android devices); I also like the design and hardware, I do believe Samsung cameras are better, but to each their own.

I have a 2017 iPad and a 2016 MacBook and love both devices - I don’t feel the need to upgrade them every year, so will keep them until they break, phones I change every 2 years, though I’ve kept the SE for longer as Apple simply haven’t released what I want.

Personally, I would be overjoyed if Apple released a phone similar to the Samsung S10e- the size, specs and price are all attractive features - I can’t see them doing that, though, as most people seemingly want bigger phones.

I’m looking forward to see what Apple will release in March; however if they don’t release a smaller, more affordable phone, I’ll probably buy an S10e.

Now that I own a XR after using the iPhone 6 for four years the 6 seems so incredibly small and light to me (and I miss it for that). So Apple might bring a successor of the SE with the form factor, thickness and weight of the 6 but with a bezel-less full screen display. This phone might have a 5.5" display. To make it cheaper than the XS they can use the Liquid Retina LCD from the XR and use an ultrasonic TouchID in the display like the S10 instead of FaceID. In this case you also need only a punch hole for the camera in the display and the notch is gone.

With the right price point that would be a big hit for Apple in my opinion.....

A week later on my XS Max and I feel like I made the right decision upgrading. When the XS/XS Max/XR were announced last year, I made the decision to upgrade every 2 years, more so after so many people started having cellular issues with their devices. I now will upgrade every 18 months. I do wish Apple would come out with some new compelling reasons to make me love upgrading. Every year I used to be so excited to watch the keynotes but not so much anymore.

Having so many devices from Apple means that you at least like how things work together. If you decide to get a different phone, then you can kiss this very nice integration goodbye. Apple is not about being the most innovative company in terms of standalone features, it is all about integrating technologies that are ready to be integrated into the Apple ecosystem, in a way that benefits the users (and Apple).
What exactly is so innovative about the S10? I am asking as a former Note 9 user?

Samsung is offering two different CPUs for its flagships, something that is plain unacceptable. US users get the SnapDragon 855 which is a great chip and offers great battery life, while the rest of the world gets the Exynos 9820, which just sucks.
The fingerprint sensor is plagued with issues and the One UI still has lag (at least in the Exynos models). The camera software still destroys details and the camera is not making great videos as an iPhone.
Now let's examine the software: Android is really great, but there are some things missing that make the experience not so great as on iOS (despite its shortcomings).
The quality of the apps is not so good, scrolling is jerky, and updates are rare.

If you think that Apple is not innovating, then you are mistaken. Innovation is not about bringing a technology first to market, it is about taking the best technology available and using it in a way that translates into functionality that helps people achieve more things. This is where Apple is innovative. The thing I don't like about Apple are the prices of its products, but I guess this is the price of admission.
I have been using Android for 4 years and I have a pretty good idea of how Android works. I used to love Apple, then I was angry, but now I realised that Apple is still the best in the industry.
There is nothing innovative about the S10, apart from the display. I had it in the hand and it doesn't even feel as premium as an iPhone. I would say that even the notch looks better; at least it is symmetrical.
That's just my two cents.

The reason i stay with Apple is IOS.
Apple hardware is starting to lag quite far behind the competition.
How is that exactly? The A12 CPU is still the faster. All Android manufacturers are playing catch up in the CPU department.

Yes that’s one area where they are ahead. But as a overall package Apple hardware isn’t great value for money.

If you are looking for value for money, then you are right. Look elsewhere for value for money. Apple products can have good value for money, if users do not frequently upgrade to the newest device all the time. This is the good thing with Apple products. You can use them for many many years.

Yeah the S10 and S10 Plus to me made me really take a hard look at what we pay for. The S10 Plus I believe still comes in under the XS Max and will have new technology. I do like the under screen finger print scanner, I think I would like that a lot more than Face ID. I have times where Face ID does not always work, and of course you cant use it flat.

You still feel this way? That S10 is so superior to your XS Max?

In my view it was a mistake for Apple to remove the receptacle for wired headphones. Having a Bluetooth earbud next to the brain is just dumb. All kinds of news reports have been published about the harm associated with Bluetooth devices next to one's brain, and some more made the news this week.

It wasn’t a mistake, it was a timely move that needed to be made and should’ve been made years ago. Bluetooth has been here for years, and now it’s becoming more predominant where it’s improved with sound quality, noise isolation and better range for signal. Apple made the perfect move by removing the 3.5 mm Jack, introducing the AirPods, which have been extremely popular.

But my experience of Samsung software is it slows down over time and you get very very few updates and so if a bug is present good luck getting it fixed. I also have found battery life on android was worse than iOS over time but who know with the S10

Exactly why I left android and appreciate iOS. Great phones but to drop support based on hierarchy doesn’t work with me. I should be able to feel comfortable to buy at least 3 year old phone. I’m sure the galaxy S8 and plus are on its last leg of support. Can’t buy the S7 if you wanted to.

I have a couple of Android fan family members and it doesn’t take them long to get sluggish, bloatware, etc. My mom is 76 years old and it took her about 2 days to get used to her new X. She even does Animoji’s, lol. But it’s each their own. My dream phone this generation is an XR with an OLED screen but keeping the cool colors
