iPad became redundant for me a long time ago.

Nope this will be my first time. I hope they stay in my ears because my EarPods don’t. If I like them, I’ll buy the updated version whenever they come out.

Having been a big iPhone fan in the early days I spent the period from iphone 5 until iphone XS Max release using android instead. I became a fan of android and didn't expect to come back. My last android was a Note 8.

When the XS Max was released I decided to give it a go and I am really happy I switched back and have now added an apple watch too so plan to stick iOS for the some time to come. Having now used both up to date versions of android and iOS I would say they are both very capable and whilst different they have many similarities too. I prefer the usability of iOS for many aspects but would also say android is better on some others

One of the main things people complain about on iOS is how 'boring' it is with just a grid of icons but actually after many years on android, I always set up my phones the same way and didn't bother much with customisation and widgets. So personally the home screen on iOS is fine for me and I like it. I even use the 'widgets' page (whatever its called) on a daily basis.

the S10 plus looks good and would have interested me if I hadn't come back to iphone. But my experience of Samsung software is it slows down over time and you get very very few updates and so if a bug is present good luck getting it fixed. I also have found battery life on android was worse than iOS over time but who know with the S10

I'd take a 7+ over any Android phone. I'm sorry but that's the truth. That's a great phone, and my friend's GF has that one.

This is strange one for me.

I got an iPhone 3G, I didn’t want it. There was just a really good deal on it and I took it to sell the phone and buy the phone I actually wanted. I at this point changed my phone every few months. Always seeing a new release I liked and wanting that etc.

Within a week I fell for the iPhone and oddly new release after new release passed and I never saw a phone I wanted more than I wanted the phone I had. That became especially true when I upgraded to the 4. I wrongly assumed Apple would release phones like that every year so the 4s disappointed me because I’d expected to be blown away again. Then the 5 and again I was disappointed. But there still wasn’t any other phone I wanted more than the iPhone I had. I was a little tempted by the Samsung Galaxy S3. I actually bought a Nexus 4. Lasted a week before I sold it and went back to my 5.

I upgraded to then 6s then the 8 and again. I wasn’t blown away but for some reason still, I never saw a phone I wanted more than the one I have. My friends have gotten Samsung, Moto’s, HTC’s, flag ships. Mid range and they all looked cool. But non held my interest.

Why is it strange? Because I love gadgets. I love tech and yes I think Apple have stopped innovating. They haven’t done anything innovative since the 4. So why do I still buy iPhones? Why when I look at the S10 or OnePlus phones do I think ‘yeah it’s nice, that’s cool, but I prefer my Xr’.

I literally have no clue.

What's your take on the AirPods thus far?

I should’ve made this move a long time ago. I couldn’t wait until September to upgrade. Now I’m waiting for my AirPods to arrive tomorrow.
[doublepost=1551805651][/doublepost]Everything Apple Pro had a 'click bait' type title to his YouTube video. He was merely testing/trying to Android device.

He’s gone back now though apparently.

Great product. Excellent battery life, portability, and the pairing is instantaneous with the AirPods just by opening the lid. The overall construction/hardware is really well-made and durable. The sound on the AirPods is decent quality, the audio is crisp and the base is decent. Version two is expected to be coming soon this year, but the first GEN AirPods are still a great buy.

I don’t like the AirPods. Even though they are wireless they remind me so much of the EarPods. The sound quality is meh but I also like how I can keep one in my ear while listening to music or while waiting for a phone call. I honestly think I should’ve waited to see if Apple announce v2 this year. I ordered the AirPods off Amazon, so I have until April 2nd to send them back. I’ve already packed them back up in the box ready to send back.

If the iphone could stream downloaded movies to my tv without a separate receiver(apple tv),if i could download apk files,if it had a fast charger in the box,if the oled apple uses had no pwm..

The reason android has still favorable things for me as listed above minus the pwm on the oleds.

Love my Xr,but the x/Xs or the pixel 3 are perfect size wise for me. Shame the Xr is just a tad too big and heavy but i can live with it.

I think that’s the one thing that surprised me about the AirPods, is actually the sound. They received a software update early on after they launched, and actually improved the treble and bass, and are decently loud for what they’re worth. But if someone was looking for something in terms of sound clarity, obviously there are more apt brands, but you will likely end up spending much more considering what the AirPods actually provide a performance in terms of battery life and the portable charging case.

Just curious, what is the source of that? Why would updates be any less of a priority for one phone brand over another?
If updates are important for Samsung customers, people would already stop buying Samsung, or Samsung would already change their phone update process. Samsung's late/slow Android upgrades is nothing new. Samsung has always been like this.

People who want prompt updates would've bought Pixel or Android One phones.
People who bought Samsung doesn't care, thus they bought Samsung. What more proof do you want?

Because these Android guys use them as long as it works and than they throw them away....
Samsung Galaxy S users upgrade their phones on a yearly basis.

Based on your avatar, I'm not surprised that the earpods dont stay in your ear. haha

As a iPhone owner/user, are any of you starting to feel the pain from sticking with Apple and watching especially this year so far, many innovative things coming to other phones and we are still using devices from a company who seems to have decided to stop innovating, and just release the same things year after year but make us pay more for it?

Dont get me wrong, I love Apple. I have the XS Max, Apple Watch Series 4, New iPad Pro, Airpods, Macbook Pro and 2 Apple TV boxes.

At what point do we as Apple Consumers stop allowing Apple Eco System which is what they depend on to keep us buying the devices that are falling more and more behind?

Just something I was thinking about today.

Seeing the new phones over the past few weeks and months that have been coming out, I feel we are getting kicked to the curb by Apple and EVEN IF the last 2 weeks of releases have kicked Apple in the a$$ to wake up, it will be at least 2 years before we see anything new and even then, it will be 2 years still behind Samsung and others.
No because I don’t think that way I look at the device if it not only fits my needs but works well while doing it, my max works fantastic. The apps are top notch, everything is still so fast and smooth. I’m happy with it

Yes especially with the drastic price increase I have the xs max and what you get in the galaxy s10 plus is ridiculous. I’m thinking very hard to switching.

Iphone may be smooth and fast but... it is a phone that is not that smart as it expects you to do most of basic routine tasks yourself

For me, it was every two years.

Makes no sense but nice try

Why am I not surprised at all you have no idea what I'm talking about?

iPhone can't do event driven automation like

- auto set phone to vibrate based calendar
- Auto set screen rotation to on/off depending on apps you are using
- auto unlock phone at when certain conditions are met
- auto run map when in the car
- auto play music when I connect bt/headphone
- ....and hundreds of other situations.

I can let my galaxy auto do these for me regularly without me needing to lift a finger. With iPhone, you have to remember and manually do these chores yourself. Not a smart phone, this iPhone is.

If Apple doesn't give us a real reaso. To stay, we will likely move on to something else, probably pixel, next year. We will probably either but used or the previous years model because pricing has gone beyond what I think these devices are worth for the length of time we tend to use them, though we do have a 6s in the family that's we've had since new.

I have an X and, while I like the phone, I don't feel I gained much over the 6s plus it replaced. Still a bit of buyers remorse due to the price as well.

I'm too in to the Apple eco system to leave it now.

I keep hearing that, but when I stopped to think about it myself, I've got a pretty easy way out. Apart from a few random pics and videos I use other software (and cameras) for my photography. I use Spotify for my music needs. I do like the calendar/contact etc integration but I could just as well live with either the Office365 or Google version of that. I've got 1-2 of each account on my phone anyway. I don't use smartwatches you have to charge all the time so I'm still waiting for an Apple Watch that'd be worth my money (and use my Suunto Spartan Ultra until then. Mostly for training and I prefer the belt for accuracy anyway). Airpods were so underwhelming I returned them to the store immediately and haven't looked back. I've got one old iPad with broken screen which I never use. What else.. the iPhone, of course.

I'd miss iOS and somewhat the mac if I were to move away completely, but these days it's more about the quality of keyboard/touchpad (even though I hate the butterfly, but sadly it's still better than some I've seen lately) and I'd miss the responsivity of iOS. I've yet to see an android that gets even close. Still, if they're planning to make the mac keyboard even worse it'll go over the limit for me. And the iPhone prices are so sick I can't justify paying that much for obsolete crap anymore. Give me iPhone SEx instead.

I have been saying since the X unveil that the iphone will slowly but surely go down the tube. The iphone has become boring and stale. If you're going to release an iphone every year, there should be at least one wow factor a year. IMO the last wow factor was the i6+ when the screen size increased.

If this year's iohone unviel shows nothing more than a spec bump, new colours, more anamojis and an improved camera, the iohone risks becoming irrelevant.

This year's iphone needs to see a shake up of the os. Honestly how long do we have to see that grid of apps. The interface has been the same for 11 long blood clotting years. Last year they decided that refinement was more important than overhaul, that's just peak Apple thinking. Slower thanna snail.

I'm personally looking forward to the Note 10, that is going to be sensational, like a computer in your pocket. And if you're one of those thst can't leave the iphone because you locked into the Apple ecosystem AKA web of deceit, serves you right. What were you thinking being wall to wall Apple?

The iphone has become a boring device.
