Looking at getting a cheap refurbished 11 Pro Max and am looking at the 64GB.

Just wondering how that feels day to day for most of you. Do your apps fill it quickly then you get into trouble with photos and videos you've taken etc?

My apps are mostly banking apps, Strava, Garmin, WeChat, WhatsApp, Twitter, Youtube.

Sometimes downloads a Buch of games, play once and delete.

I do have a bad habit of not deleting photos, but I need to think of a longer term solution to store them that isn't iCloud. I don't think having 100GB of photos on your phone is a good idea, it's just lazy (which I am). I keep losing lots of cool shots from years ago just because I have no backup solution that's super simple.

I’ve had my 64gb 8 for 15 months and have 25gb spare currently. I take plenty shots but shorter videos. Music is streamed. I have 73 apps, 1342 photos and 276 videos. Not sure if this helps. Good luck.

Why do you need a long term solution? Just pay a few bucks for iCloud and you’re safe for life. Just choose “optimize photo storage” so that photos/movies aren’t actually stores on the device, and are streamed to the device when you want to view them. Isn’t this even the default on new devices?

My photo library is just like 1GB even though I have 10k photos. And with Music my library is just like 1GB as well, even though my library is many thousand songs.

64GB is more than enough if you have optimized storage turned on.

64GB on my xR is more than enough for me too. I don't really use my phone for much.

Thanks guys, interesting. Not so relevant now as I found a cheap 256GB model, cheaper than the 64GBs. Think the guy just listed it and wanted cash quickly, so whatever, works for me. Good for resale value at least!

Yep, living happily with both 64 GB iPhone 11 and 64 GB iPad Air. I usually stream stuff (music & movies) and use both iCloud and Dropbox for files, so still have 38 GB free on the iPhone and 42 GB free on the iPad. 🖐

I went from 64GB to 256GB when I switched to my X. It’s been ~2.5 years and I’m over 100GB now. I’m glad I went with the larger storage option. I backup my photos and videos to icloud, but haven’t offloaded them. I could save some space, but I couldn’t go back to 64GB. I could probably make due with 128GB, but I’m likely to go with 256GB or more if I decide to upgrade any time in the next year or two. I’ve cut my music storage in half since switching to my X yet I’m using nearly double the storage from other stuff.

I just checked out of curiosity, and I’ve only consumed 19 GB out of 64 GB. It’s not that I’m even ‘conservative’, it’s just I use my phone simply for work purposes and basic communication. Everything is resortEd to my Mac and iPads.

Seriously though, I could easily survive on 32 GB. It’s totally doable.

64gb iPhone X with 37gb free.. I use iCloud and other cloud services and haven't needed anything more.. If the 6.1 12Pro has 128gb base option I wouldn't complain..

If you want to shoot video at 60FPS for super smooth viewing, those files get big really fast. I've been using a 64GB iPhone for 6 years (currently have 18GB free) and it's fine but I don't save many pictures or videos. Ruthless editing is a necessity if using a 64GB phone. I don't use iCloud photos, they're all on my phone.

When I get a new iPhone will I choose a 64GB model? Hell no. It's too confining.

Make sure you run all the relevant checks etc. You Know the old saying if it sounds to good... May I ask where are you purchasing it from?

I only use around 25GB. 64GB is plenty. I don't take many photos and rarely shoot video. Eventually I put them on the computer and take them off the phone anyway. Most are just junk photos I delete anyway. Such as model numbers of a computer or the sticker on an ISP's router with login info.

64GB XR user here. I don’t shoot video and am pretty ruthless about paring down my photos. Happy for the majority to live full resolution only on iCloud. Have about 30 apps (no games). Most of my content lives in a cloud somewhere (Spotify etc).

I think the answer is ‘it depends’. If you use your phone as a caching device like I do, then it’s fine. Packrats will need as much GB as possible as always.

64GB is plenty for me since I utilize iCloud for photos and stream music, movies and TV shows. I still have 35GB of free space on my 11 Pro.

I eventually manage to fill up every device. No matter if it's a 64 GB iPhone or 1 TB iMac. For me it's photos and GoPro videos that take up space, so I just need to be better at house cleaning.

To answer your question, I have 12 000 photos on my iPhone X, every app that I need, videos, music and it's still not full. So yes, I think 64 GB should be enough for many people.

I live with 32GB no problem.
Been with 16 GB and then 32 GB (currently with a 32 GB iPhone 7 for close to 4 years). If you don't use that many apps, and/or apps that are larger, and/or don't have much media to store then it's not really much of an issue. Otherwise, you do have to go through some maintenance steps here and there where you offload some apps you don't really use and/or perhaps offload some media (like photos and videos).

It can be a bit tricky to have at least about 4 GB free left most of the time to make sure the OS doesn't really get slowed down and that there's room to download/unpack/install updates.

I am on my phone! Probably be upgrading to the pro next tier when I upgrade though.

iPad Pro 2020 is 128gb and have barely touched capacity on that.
