64 gig iPhone XR. I am using 32 gig so exactly half of it. Everything is stored locally.

I don't have any problem with 64GB, I still have 28GB free, but nowadays and if you want to keep your phone until 3-4 years, I absolutely would pay more for the 256GB or would wait until iPhone 12 was going to be released and buy the 128GB version

I just went from 256gb 11 pro to 128gb SE2. Thinking I’d keep the pro for a few years, I was going to get the 256gb SE2 but after looking at my memory usage, I don’t need it and honestly could probably go with a 64gb but went 128gb as a safe bet

You guys are all making me think the next iPhone I get. I should just get the basic 64gb version. I always got the highest gb version thinking it’s best to always have the highest as I don’t have to worry about space on my iPhone etc. However if I look at my iPhone XR which has 256gb I have got only used 98.7gb.

103.7gb is showing as voice memos and photos is showing as 4.32gb despite having over 16000 photos and videos.

my question though which may be silly is that if I move voice memos from my iPhone on to the files app as I have 2tb iCloud storage this means they are saved on iCloud which will allow me to simply delete the relevant voice memo off my iPhone in which should result in my iPhone gaining more space right?

Also if I take 4K videos on my iPhone and I have my iPhone set for optimise iPhone storage. Does that mean less space will be used on my iPhone for saving 4K or will more space be used due to 4K and best option is to transfer those videos to files app and delete the video off the iPhone memory?

I went from a 32 to a 256. I know it’s not a 64 but I am away from service frequently. I have about 50gb of music, 80gb of movies, 30gb of games and apps, and about 40gb of pictures and family videos. And a little space for some downloads from Netflix, Amazon or video from my camera. I should have got the 512 but I am cheap.

I had the 64 GB 11 Pro Max. Honestly, it's not enough anymore. I switched to the 11 Pro 256 and I am much happier. Yeah the battery life isn't as insane, but my apps don't constantly offload themselves.

I'd rather have 64GB as an option still and a price reduction.

If the 5.4” 12 comes out with 128GB as the base model, I will be in heaven with that. Not that I’d ever use it all up, but then I can save music for offline listening and such. I don’t need that much, but it’s just nice knowing I have it.

iPhone 6s with 64 GB - it’s getting annoying. Around 40 GBs of pictures, some apps and Spotify without offline mode. Currently ~10 GB free, which the phone will waste with trash after a while

I always go for the base model storage option. 64GB is more than enough for me. I don't understand why people want like 256GB or 512GB of storage. Do people really have that many photos to keep? If yes, do they really need to keep ALL of them? If yes, there are plenty of secure free (or extremely cheap) cloud storage options. If you're adamant about keeping valuable photos/files on your phone and not backing them up then if you lose or destroy your phone you lose all that anyway.

Honestly can't see myself ever needing to go over 64GB...it's not like file sizes are going to increase as only a certain image quality/resolution is needed given the size of iPhone screens and the capabilities of the human eye. Like....you're never going to need an 8K image unless you're a graphic designer or something.

Try shooting a vacation with beautiful 4K video for longer. Or imagine this is your main computer platform. Now that was easy. Case closed. ;)

If I had gone with one of the Pro models I probably would have opted for 64 to save the $150 but since I went with the regular 11 I bumped up to 128 for the extra $50.

I’ve been using a 64gb iPhone 8 for almost 3 years now...used space is 15.4gb so yes, I am still living with 64gb very easily. My next phone will also have the lowest amount of storage available.

Looking at getting a cheap refurbished 11 Pro Max and am looking at the 64GB.

Just wondering how that feels day to day for most of you. Do your apps fill it quickly then you get into trouble with photos and videos you've taken etc?

My apps are mostly banking apps, Strava, Garmin, WeChat, WhatsApp, Twitter, Youtube.

Sometimes downloads a Buch of games, play once and delete.

I do have a bad habit of not deleting photos, but I need to think of a longer term solution to store them that isn't iCloud. I don't think having 100GB of photos on your phone is a good idea, it's just lazy (which I am). I keep losing lots of cool shots from years ago just because I have no backup solution that's super simple.

I have a 10.5 iPad and iPhone X, both are 64GBs...iPhone is at 52GBs filled and the iPad stays around 30GBs, little more when I download movies on to it.

I can beat that, still living with 32gb on my iPhone 7.

I had to finally start optimizing iPhone photo storage and offloading a few unused apps recently as I was running out of space. Honestly, I could go longer with this, and I probably will. I don't watch movies on my phone so don't really see the need for so much storage space.
