Yes, I am. It has been happily charging away on the dock for the last twelve months without the slightest hint of any problems but has failed twice in the last week since installing watchOS 4.

That issue combined with the out of character erratic battery behaviour means I'm blaming the new OS.

Interesting, so since my last post on this thread the battery has just got worse. If I get 10hours I’m lucky. I bought a second charger ages ago for the car (figure may as well charge it in there when I’m doing nothing but driving and removes the distraction of notifications). Today and yesterday it has failed to charge in the car, got home tonight to see it was on 10% charge despite being sat flat on the charger in the car for approx 50 minutes on the way home...
my watch got set up as new when I upgraded my phone last week. I have been culling apps left right and centre to the point I only have 4 on there now:
Omnifocus, dark sky, downcast and pennies...

too still using the sports watch edition bought when it was released, got glass replaced once but still working great.. don't see any reason to upgrade either. Also, there is no substantial upgrade, cellular & fast processor fine but ain't worth it!
If I were to upgrade it would be for the built in GPS and somewhat for the full waterproofness. I was kinda mad when those features were announced for the series 2 that I invested in the first gen.
I’m not bothered about speed as I don’t interact with the watch a massive amount other than starting a workout/music playlist. Cellular is pointless to me as I’m never without my phone.

I still love and wear my SS series 0 every single day. I use it for controlling music while phone is in my pocket, for select notifications, 4-5 weekly workouts at gym with music while wearing AirPods, complications for weather, timer, reminders.

I'm very happy with the changes in WatchOS 4, especially how much easier it is to swipe to the music app within a workout. I'm getting used to the new dock behavior too. All in all, I'm happier than before the update, so I'm going to wait a while before I upgrade the hardware. I would get another SS because I love my link bracelet and classic buckle bands too much to give them up. I also wear the leather loop, two sport bands, and the rainbow nylon during pride month.

[UPDATE 10/28/17] I upgraded. Got an S3 in SS a couple weeks ago. I am thrilled and delighted by the performance of the watch. Now that I'm used to it, there's no going back. I went ahead and added LTE service and now I'm enjoying the peace of mind that wearing a backup to my iPhone affords.

But that's the expectation with every new Apple Watch iteration. That they're going to build new features into every watch to supersede the previous one. They would not include all these new features in to the first generation Apple Watch, which would give less of a reason for us to upgrade to a new Apple Watch. I Would never expected Apple to include GPS, 50 m water resistance, and a twice as bright display on the first generation Apple Watch. It's incremental building to the next version.

Now that I've got S3 on order, I don't mind the battery going bad because of watchOS 4. Would love to have Apple replace my pair of S0s with S1 goodness!

I agree. I meant i was mad at myself for investing in first gen product knowing that the second would likely have those features. Whereas in comparison the new features in the series 2 to 3 (non cellular) are not so significant. It’s usually always a mistake to bite at the first iteration of a new product but I was too curious to get my hands on one to wait.

Still have it - series 0 black stainless - held up perfectly. In pristine condition and I wear it all the time. Functions great even on watchOS4. That said..I am getting a black stainless series 3 today. So I am hoping to get some use out of that as well. Resale is garbage, but I didn't get it to make money on it - I got it because I love it...

Don’t suppose you’d be interested in selling? In the market for one like that so I can get a feel for the Apple Watch

Same here, SS series 0 purchased at release. Works just great. However, I'm loving the battery in my new LTE. Seems like it lasts twice as long.

The S3 is quite a bit faster than the S2 along with a few other features...not a huge upgrade but worth it to me.

I wasn't going to switch but did. Glad I did. So fast, insane battery life, love the new gold and don't regret dumping my SS, and so far loving the LTE. No connectivity issues, but I live downtown.

Ha.

Would definitely if I didn't promise it to one of the kids. My wife and I are handing ours down. Good luck - you could just buy a sport watch, figure out if you like it and return in 14 days if you don't or upgrade if you want to go to stainless.

Still using my S0. I mostly use the Apple Pay and notifications functions — also to scan plane tix at gate. No need for water proof or GPS. Still I’ll be eyeballing the S3 Black Friday. If there is a deal like last year I’ll bite.

I beg to differ: The updates are _very_ substantial! The S2 was already a significant improvement over S0 and S3 again is a significant improvement over S2.

Even if someone's use profile is only telling time, getting notifications and controlling music playback: Once you experienced S2 or S3, you can't go back to S0. Not only because of speed, but also because of the significantly brighter screen and improved battery life.

I’ve worn my series 0 SS every day and it’s been fantastic. Not worn my Swiss mechanical since. I would probably upgrade if there was a non-Cellular SS series 3. I’m sure others feel the same.

There is a GPS only (no cellular) Series 3, and it even has no unsightly red dot :)

I’m a Series 0 owner who also put away my mechanicals after getting an Apple Watch. I think we’re in the minority there!

Still rock my release SS series 0! Recently the back came off after I pulled it from the charger but I pushed that sucker back in and it’s going strong! I ordered a SS series 3 on 9/28 and looks like end of October beginning of November for delivery. Meanwhile I still love my 0.

Unless I’m misraken, I believe the series 3 SS is only available with cellular. Aluminium version holds no interest for me as I wouldn’t be able to wear it at work.

I still have my original AW. It works fine, but when I upgraded my phone it kept having pairing issues. It messed up my tracking a few times, causing me to loose my streaks !! After that I just stopped focusing. Lol

I'm getting the new watch, Nike version, whenever BB gets them in stock, no rush. I want LTE version.

I agree ... i just got the S1 as a replacement for the S0 due to battery swelling and I actually like using the Apple Watch now. The S0 performance was just horrendous. Good for telling time and not much else. The S3 seems like it might be fast enough to load third party apps now ... that would be another nice step forward, although I’m not sure the third party ecosystem will ever develop enough for that to be useful.

I was a SS0 owner and was on the fence about upgrading. I really couldn't see the advantage and wasn't sure about cellular. Well I did upgrade and although I like the cellular, the real winner for me is the speed. I didn't realize how slow my S0 watch was until I got the S3. Now I can read mail and text on the watch routinely where with my S0 I only did it when I didn't have another option because it was so painfully slow. Anyway, just a thought for anyone on the fence.

Here’s another way to repurpose a series 0 watch: give it to an elderly relative that has an iPhone. Set it up for them, particularly the Medical ID, as well as emergency SOS. Many first responders are aware of how to access the ID from an Apple Watch.

So I had to return my Series 3 steel apple watch due to issues now the wait is forever and a day for a new one. I have the series 0 currently. Here is my question Bestbuy have a SS Space Black new in box series 2 for $429.99 should i get that and just wait on the Series 3 with lte I can sell both my watchs to put a dent in the series 3. Is the series 2 a good enough update over series 0?

My wife is wearing/using the first edition. She bought me a Series 2 and thought she would just try out my old one. She now loves it and wouldn't want to be without it. We have loaded the newest WatchOS and it is working fine.
