As with technology, it'll be cheaper in two years time.

Various benefits with liquidmetal. Off the top of my head, scratch resistance and extremely durable (it'll bounce off the ground like a basketball).

Very interesting. Have they figured out how to use it yet? Remember reading about issues with usability in production settings or some other above my level of education jargon. The i5 SIM tray key is liquid metal right?

After a week with the iPhone 6, I'm going to say the 5S was hands down a better built phone and much better looking phone. The past week I've felt nothing but regret about selling my 5S. Live and learn though!
Absurd.

Compared to the 6, the 5/5S is a much simpler and cheaper design. The glass back on the iPhone 5/5S was a cheap way (from an engineering perspective) to incorporate a metal back while providing a means to pass cellular and wifi radio signals. Apple couldn't figure how out to achieve adequate cellular and wifi reception with an all metal back, so it tore off large pieces of the metal back and replaced them with large glass windows. Somehow, Apple convinced most folks that this kludge was desirable.

With the iPhone 6, Apple has completely re-engineered its antenna design to achieve the same or better antenna performance in a fraction of the space (small slits in the phone instead of absurdly large glass windows). This is a major engineering feat. Of course, it would be nice if the lines were smaller, but no one has figured out how to defy the laws of physics and build a seamless all metal case enclosure for a phone. Apple is undoubtedly working on ways to make the external antennas appear more like a seamless part of the case, for the iPhone 7 and beyond.

It's still in development for large quantity production but yes, the SIM tray is liquidmetal.

A lot of people have spent hundreds of dollars over the past couple of weeks to buy brand new phones. If the forum accepts that an older phone is sexier, it is like raining on the parade of the new buyers. There are so many posts from people looking for reaffirmation of either the 6 or 6+ purchase. So, please keep that sensitivity in mind before declaring that you like older hardware. People have agonizing choices to make between the 6 and 6+ as is, let us not pile it on anymore.

I disagree, plenty of people are raving about their 6's making anyone with a previous phone think their is inferior. I'm simply asking for opinions. I spent $815 a few days ago on a 64GB iPhone 6. While I love the phone, I'm having regrets before I sell my 5. I just wanted to see if I was alone or not. This thread isn't trying to make anyone regret anything. Just sharing my opinion. You're entitled to your own.

Hmmmm. And yet, the glass windows on the iPhone 5 were a kludge?

Sorry, same kludge. Different implementation. Your argument excusing it for the 6/6+ but not for the 5/5s doesn't have any merit.

It worked on the iPhone 5 (I like the look). It doesn't work on the iPhone 6/6+ (I hate the look of those thick lines).

I went from a 4s to a 6. Love the 6, but the 4 has an luxuriously solid feel. Like a slab of granite.

The funny thing is that after a week of owning the 6, the 4s seems unbelievably tiny. Like a miniature phone.

And that's odd - because I always thought the 4s was perfect.

Anyone think the iphone 5 build is sexier?

I've just returned a 6 & went back to a 5 the 6 is nice but it just didn't feel right

Yep, to each their own.

No. It feels dated now that the new one is out.

What does "dated" even mean in the context of products released just one year apart?

Now this is dated:

I was going to do the eek! smiley in response, but thought better of it ;)

I don't care what era your in you gotta agree some men must have debated over the bells going bellow the mouth piece just for fun. They must have just to see the ladies using it haha

This thread has reaffirmed my decision to stay with my iPhone 5s and not upgrade.

I didn't care for the iPhone 5 design. In my personal opinion, I thought it was one of the ugliest iPhones. Shape was too similar to the 4/4S, while they switched from steel bands to a more scratch-prone aluminium. Not to mention it was too light for its size. Of course it's all a matter of preference, but I liked the 4/4S better for quality and 6 for design.

I have the Iphone4 and now the 6+, i had the Iphone5 for a week but sold it cause it was not much difference to the 4. I can say the IP4 had by far the best build quality, it was solid as a rock and it looked quality. Then the IP5 and the IP6 is the cheapest looking. IP6 lacks in details, no glass parts anymore at the back, no high polished edges etc.. It looks like a small ipad, very simple and a bit to common for my taste. I also dont like the design, they wasted to much space around the screen. The IP5 and 4 looked definately more expansive, those in large would be great.
