Anyone try Best Skins Ever on the iPhone 6 yet? pic pls!

That's odd..I had a full body BSE on my iPhone 5 and I was still able to use my Spigen Neo Hybrid over it.

further update. i got the case back on. the mistake i made was trying to put the plastic part over the tpu from the front towards the back rather than the reverse. the front part seems to stick out a little further than the back part and makes it harder if not impossible to do it that way. this whole 8.0.1 dead phone thing has me flustered. case fits. very very snug but it fits. looks good. still not happy with how the bse went on this time but at least the phone is well protected for the moment.

yeah, it's way too tight to get the plastic bumper part over the tpu now. it'll break if i do i think.

my understanding is the case optimized version really only makes the screen portion slightly smaller to fit cases that have a lip that might cover the edges of the screen. and i think they even mentioned that with the curved screen of the 6, the case optimized is kind of pointless. i don't think the back is any different. as i mentioned above, my spigen is now tighter and i don't think i can use it. i think the apple case is extremely tight and i would guess it won't work with the bse. i would email them and double check though about the case optimized version. the price is cheap because they always do this when a new iphone is released, and bse doesn't spend the money on marketing and packaging like some companies so they are always cheaper. but it's the same great product if not better. they're one of the best. but as i also mentioned, this time mine didn't adhere properly. i don't know if it's beacause i got the matte or not. i emailed them and i'm waiting to hear back.

I ordered the normal one but I don't plan on using a case.

I imagine the case optimised one would be your best bet with the apple case though. I would maybe suggest contacting them and see what they suggest? I find that their customer service is very good and should be able to give you an answer.

...have emailed them these very questions so hopefully they will come back to me by tomorrow. If their answers are what I want to hear (really don't want the texture to be rubbery like other 'wet install' protectors are, namely the likes of the Zagg full body protection kits), I will put in my order!

great, let us know what they say. though i will say that the protectors do have the same rubbery feel. it's really just the nature of the wet install products. i believe they all use the same material. they just differ in cut. and perhaps there is a cheaper version of this stuff (maybe it's thicker). i think the bse is about as good as it gets. the matte version seems slightly less rubbery simply because of the texture. but again, it's the same materia i believel. i don't mind it, especially on the body of the phone. i usually don't use the material on the front because i don't like the look or the feel on the screen, and i just use a regular screen protector. but i decided to apply the matte to the front this time. seeing how it goes. it definitely degrades the screen and i don't know how long it will last. but it definitely keeps the smudges to a minimum, which might be worth it. and i don't like that other screen protectors don't wrap around the whole screen. might order a clear bse for the front. or maybe a clear bse for the whole phone considering the one i got didn't adhere properly. still seems the best way to protect the whole device. and i am happy to see that the spigen case still fits ok.

They also offer a matte option which I presume would have a smooth feeling as opposed to the rubbery feel.

I'm in the UK also and have a gloss front skin and a matte rear skink on their way. I'm mainly interested in the rear skin. I'm thinking the protection round the sides may be a little too much for my needs, so I'm thinking of contacting them to see if they can make me the rear skin but without the side protection.

The Zagg HDX offers a matte back skin that does not go over the sides.

Thanks for the photos. Best setup I have seen yet. Extremely disappointed to go back in time away from tempered glass but the look and price of these helps to ease the sting. Ordered a set for me and my wife.

Wet installs will always have that "rubbery" feel to them, and I feel it's even more on the glossy ones (vs matte). Case optimized means that the protector does not go all the way to the edge of the screen, so it kind of defeats the whole purpose in wanting the edge to edge "feature" but then order case optimized version. All screen protectors we've seen thus far are pretty much case optimized.

My screen protector comes today for my 6+. Can't wait to take this chunky Verizon glass one off.

Anyone using BSE with a case? Just curious of the case doesn't make the skin peel off.

I have a full body BSE with Ringke fusion, and no peeling here. I suppose it all depends on what type of case you're using.

I have the full body BSE as well. Tried to use the Apple leather case over it but it's a no go. The tight fit of the case peels off the corners as I inserted the phone into the case.

Can a few more people post some pictures of their instals, including any tips they may have. The pics from BSE look great but I'd like to see the results "non-pros" achieved.

Thanks.

Just received my matte skin. I was hoping they would offer a case optimized rear skin but they don't. I'm using it with a bumper so I don't want/need the full wrap.
I just ordered a GRXFP rear skin. We'll see if that is now my go to skin.

I received and fitted my skin today.

I have the rear matte skin installed, not sure if I'm going to do the front as I don't really like the feeling. The matte back skin feels great though, not too dissimilar to the naked feel/texture if the phone.

The real trick to installing these skins is time. Set aside a few hours where you won't need your phone. At first I couldn't get the sides to stick, no matter what I tried. I then had to go out for a few hours so I decided to leave the install as it was and continue when I got back. When I returned it had dried out enough to get the sides to stick down.

Here's a few pictures, it does look better in person. I'm very happy with it considering this is my first wet install.

I have done many skins in the past and this was by far the hardest I ever pulled off, the person above me had a good idea (check it in an hour or 2 for the sides to stick) I usually do it then go to bed which was probably my problem. With that said I was very upset it was an all in one, I requested BSE to have precut sides and they offered to ship me that backing.

Yes it is pretty tricky like you say, the corners are the problem. I checked mine again and they had started lifting a little. Instead of sitting there holding them down for hours, I tried this (see picture below). It seems to be working at holding the corners down, so hopefully after a few hours they will permanently stick. If not it's going to have to come off.

I'm quite happy with just a rear skin and no sides. I did email BSE the other day asking if they could custom make me just the back without the sides, but I haven't had a response yet.

I completely agree, many times int he past I would get the sides (precut) and would just not use them. Their customer service is pretty top notch they should be getting back to you.

Yes the experience I've had with their customer service is excellent. Maybe I will give them another email, I know they have been super busy so maybe it got "lost"

I installed the back on mine. It was not easy, it took me a while to get it on and everything to stay. The bottom corners are good but the top corner doesn't want to stay. I have a feeling in a couple days lints and dust will get in under it and it will lift.

Try and use something to push against the corner for a few hours, mine seems a lot better now. Hopefully by the morning it will be fully stuck.

I placed mine in the plastic insert of the iPhone box. It was the only thing I could think of that would hold the corners in place.

When I have installed these on my iPads I used a hair dryer to get the corners to dry out enough to stick. Makes the process much quicker.

Anyone using BSE with a case? Just curious of the case doesn't make the skin peel off.

I thought the whole point of the skin was so you wouldn't have to use a case? Or no?

Ever since I started using ultra thin cases like the Caudabe Veil, I've just seen no use for skins. They're a hassle to apply and peel over time. The Caudabe provides better protection since it's harder plastic and doesn't peel. I do like Best Skins Ever for my iPads though.

I too emailed them about a rear only skin. Maybe with all the requests they will do a production run.

The reason I use the rear only is because I use a bumper and like the matte BSE skins because you can't really tell anything is on it.

Now if only they (or someone) could come up with a film for the front that felt like glass. I love everything about glass screen protectors except for the thickness.

Just curious if the matte ones have any texture/grip to them. I know with the glossy skins they definitely are tacky. I would assume those of you that are going with a skin only and no case would want some extra grip to hold the phone better.
