Has anyone downloaded Mavericks and reinstalled over GM 1 through the Mac App Store?

Thanks!

I'm about to... I'll post updates when it finishes downloading in about 20 minutes.

When I tried it said I was already running 10.9 and that if I wanted to I could run the full installer or cancel. I wasn't sure what would happen if I did that so I just cancelled.

Clicking continue allows you to download the full installer. I did that as soon as it was officially released. I then proceeded to make a USB installl stick.

Edited to add: After you download the full installer, it will automatically pop up with the click continue to install Mavericks screen. Make sure to exit out of that.

Anyone upgrade from GM Seed 1?

You don't really need to make a bootable drive if you can download it unlimited times. But the bootable drive will help you save time f you have tons of computers to update.

Is it only necessary to exit out of the continue to Install Mavericks screen if you want to make a USB stick version? What if I just want to install from my HD?

Same here, I did this a few days ago, have had no problems so far. Everything runs very smoothly.

I have downloaded the new installer but when I click install on the "Macintosh HD" screen nothing happens. I just want to install it over the previous version without doing a fresh install. Any ideas?

So did you guys just do the full installer then? I don't really want to create a USB key if I don't have to. Just looking for the easy way out to get from GM1 to GM2.

I went to the store and selected to download the full installer. It says its downloading but doesn't show up in my Updates with any status. So I have no clue how far along it is or even if its really downloading.

Also, another quirk I have is all the sudden today the update of "Mavericks Developer Preview Recovery Update 1.0" became available but doesn't let me update it. And it shows the update in my previous 30 days. Must be a visual bug.

I'll probably end up having to do a full wipe and install but hoping I can be lazy on this one.

I upgraded from the First GM 13A598 to the second GM 13A603 this morning, and all is well. No problems to report as yet.

How did you perform the install? Via the App Store? USB stick after download? Or just regular install on top of GM1.

Just click Continue.

Also installed the App Store version over the first GM. Took awfully long, but it works just fine.

I too see the developer preview recovery update 1.0. I clicked it to update to see how large it was then couldn't cancel it so I just force quit the process. I figure I am going to install public release over my GM1 anyway which would do the update to recovery along side it.

I am guessing we see the dev thing now because before we had to be signed into a legit developer ID to access it. Being me and uhum getting it the other way couldn't see it under my Apple ID because I am not a dev. Now that it is public they must have just made the whole dev folder public to all IDs which is only why we're seeing the recovery update now instead of at DP1 or whatever. That is my theory anyway. Anyway just ignore it, install public over GM1 and it will probably be gone

Lol same here. Clicked on it and it said something like 470 MB and I was like "damnit" but it was too late

Still haven't upgraded through the App Store, I'm a little worried I might run into some bugs that I didn't have to deal with before. Might just be better to wait for 10.9.1

Yeah, but I told it to continue and installed over GM 1 this way today. No problems.

Is it necessary to upgrade from GM 1? I did an erase and install from 10.8 (which had been upgraded from 10.5 to 10.6 to 10.7 to 10.8) to get a "fresh start". So I'm not too eager to do another OS install on top of what I have this soon. Does anyone think 10.9.1 will be pushed to the GM1 (whenever that is), allowing me to get onto the "real" cycle that way?

I'm trying to upgrade but after I click 'Continue' in the App Store, nothing happens except for a spinning wheel in the top left... But it doesn't seem to be doing anything.

same exact issue here.. not sure what to do. I might just use my time machine from ML and update from there.
