Are you upgrading to the 8 from the 7?

Not a fan of glass backs. Easier to hold? Might depend on who's doing the holding. Also I always use a slight case so glass back is covered anyway. Will be interesting to see how easily the backsides will hold up to drops.
Wireless charging is not needed for my usage as my iphone batteries last all day and half the next if need be.
So I answered the poll in the negative as my 7 will be fine for quite some time.
I notice some are getting the 8 then the X when released. An iphone/tech addiction? More money than sense? To much Apple kool-aid? Rock On!

I'm waiting for the X to be released to make a firm decision. I also have to take into account that I'd like to upgrade my Series 0 SS AW as well.

My gut tells me to go with the 8, but I feel that once the X is released, I'm going to want it.

Yeah, I think right now everyone’s waiting for the X which is why the 8 hasn’t been getting the numbers like the 7/7+ did last year during preorder.

Nope. I’m waiting for the X if I get anything new. Honestly I hate the design of the 7 Plus. I’ve owned the 6 Plus, 6S, and 6S Plus and now the 7 Plus. The way it feels and looks has just easily been my least favorite design. And I’ve owned 4 of the same design. I’m not about to go for a fifth. Honestly I’d rather go SE than the 8 if I was forced to change phones.

Aside from just being ugly (in my opinion), the Plus is too wide and the regular is too small. The chin and forehead are incredibly outdated and undesired. Adding glass to the back that I will never see (I keep a bike case on my phone for commuting) doesn’t excite me at all. 4 generations of the same lousy ugly piece of crap design is just too long when all the competitors are doing it way better.

Not to say I want a competitor, but I’d feel like a total jackass if I got another phone whose design I hate when the X is out there. Even if it has its own set of issues, at least it’s fresh.

Only problem is that I’m on the IUP and am eligible to upgrade. With all the delays and my bad luck at preordering, I don’t expect to get an X in a timely manner. My 7 Plus will nearly be paid off. It won’t be worth trading in a phone that I could sell for far more than what payoff will likely be.

So there’s a decent chance I just stay pit til next year. Mainly because I don’t want another ping on my credit report.

no, i really like the performance, the built and the jet black finish of the 7.

if the 8 had a dual camera, i would consider, and since i'm not satisfied with the design of the X, i will wait for another generation or two.

I have the 7 and will be getting the 8. The ONLY reason I am not going for the X is due to that funky bar/notch on the display that has the sensors for Face ID. I have my fingers crossed that the bar/notch improves with the next model. I've also battled with the thought of moving to the larger PLUS model phones, but they are just too big and too heavy for my liking. I'm one of the rare people who actually talk on the phone and I don't like the idea of holding a brick to my face.

There’s just not enough there to warrant upgrading from my iP7+. The real world speed won’t be noticeable from everything I’ve read and can tell and that’s honestly all I’m worried about at this point. I’ve upgraded to iOS 11 and haven’t noticed hardly any difference in performance. The 8 is more Of an S generation upgrade. I considered upgrading to the iPhone X but I really like Touch ID and I have zero complaints about my 7 Plus. I’m not really sure what to do from this point. I’ll definitely wait until next year to see what they do with the iPhone lineup. I would not Be surprised if they go to iPhone and iPhone Pro and the X becomes the iPhone Pro in the line up. I’ll let apple sort out the teething issues there’s surely going to be with the iPhone X.

glass back and it seems easier to hold and from the sounds camera is better.
Glass back plus no case will make a sad face. If you use a case then no difference in feel.

As if it’s any of your business how people spend their money and insulting strangers in a passive way is so cool...

Yeah, I wanted the X at first when it was announced, but then I realized that I’d probably never get one because of the high demands for them.

No doubt. Plus, I really need to justify the $1,000 price tag on the X and it's a first gen product (although I purchased the first gen iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch).

If I didn't want to upgrade my watch, I'd definitely have my mind made up on going with the X.

why would some people get the 8+ AND the X? I mean i can justify some excessive spending on some electronics..... Just not 2 phones. Put me first on your list to buy either the 8+ or the X when you decide to get rid of one please.

I have the same reservations about the X, not to mention, the 8+ is the heaviest. I have a 6S+ and it does tend to get heavy while on it for awhile. I wouldn't mind upgrading to the 8+, but I just don't want it to be even heavier :( After comparing the 6/7/8S+ the 7+ weighs the least.

Haha, i know right? Must be nice to be able to have funds to spend on two phones like that and not think anything of it.

I’m closer to going to the SE or waiting for an SE2 than upgrading my 7+ to an 8/+ or X. But that could change.

If the X came in a Plus size I would get it. Right now I am rocking the Note 8 and LOVE the size. The 8+ is the only viable option because of the size and I just am not going back to a phone with large bezels.

I’m going with a 8+ from a 7 plus really like this design more with a wider screen plus not willing to give up Touch ID yet to be honest next year I hope they make a X+

I am upgrading from my 7+ to the 8+. I am purely an iOS user so that makes things a bit more simplistic for me. I am blessed to have the money, so I choose to upgrade every year. This year I had full, 100% intentions of getting the X until a) I saw the keynote and b) saw how the UI is supposedly going to work. Therefore, 8+ it is.
