Are you upgrading to the 8 from the 7?

Yes, I normally upgrade every year and I absolutely want an 8– especially since I may Keep it because I DO NOT want facial recognition. This is the last phone with Touch ID which I love...

It is I, the Apple fanboy who has a serious case of upgradeitis. I’m going to get an 8plus then get an X (2018) hoping that Apple would fix all the shortcomings (if any) of the X (2017)

I am going from a 7 to an 8 Plus. I want to try out a bigger phone but prob for. Only a year as we can upgrade every on Verizon. Otherwise I would have stuck with my 7 until the next generation x phone next year. I already have a case and think I can handle it. I was intimidated before though.

7 to 8 plus. Not interested in waiting until likely Jan or Feb for a 1st generation beta product that I’ll have numerous screen errors on while using in landscape - cause there’s no bezels to hold in landscape on the X. It has to be comfortable to hold and cup your right hand to get the sound of the bottom speaker forward. Looking forward to that 25% more volume (upgrading the top speaker) and DEEPER Bass too.

7 plus 256 to 8 plus 256, I'm on the iUp program so it's a pretty easy decision.

I'll wait out for another year for the X or whatever it will be then develop further.

Currently, I’ve got a matte black 7Plus 128GB. I would have been cool staying with it, as it serves me quite well.

However, I’m am the guy in the family that passes iPhones down to others. It’s been like this since the original iPhone.

So this time around, I got myself the iPhone 8plus silver 256GB. And everyone else in my family will get a nice upgrade as well.

I think that's the biggest concern. Is the extreme shortage with this new iPhone. When you factor in the wait times after November 3, it's going to be after the new year before some even receive their X. I guess depending how fast somebody pre-orders and how much available stock is available for shipping on November 3 are other factors.

Yeah the stock available is going to be interesting and how much stock carriers get for example. I have hope with EE if they are offering stupid prices there will be enough stock through them. Can but hope. 8 plus is still a better phone than the 7 plus but i guess it depends how much you want wireless charging

If supply is surprisingly abundant then I might get the X (2017) just gotta scratch that itch!

I am really torn now, mainly because I preordered an iPhone 8 plus although I initially wanted the X and I am currently happy with my 7plus.
It will be very tough for me to bring the 8plus back to my local Apple shop... :D But I am also upgrading my Apple Watch (Nike+) and might pre order the X although no one knows when it will get delivered.

Decisions... Decisions... :)

Got a 256 7+, like many I’m on a yearly upgrade plan. I was going to hold out for the X, but with more news of delays and low yelled once they start production. There’s a good chance that us in the UK are likely to see Dec or even Jan shipments.
I’m also not convinced on face ID.
Also don’t fancy my renewal date being pushed months down the line when the next phones get relised.
So think I’ll get a 8+ and see what happens next year.

I’m going to try to go to my Verizon store tomorrow and see if I can pick one up at full retail.. called them and they said they might not have a lot of stock but if they have any left over then I can buy one at full price. If I can’t, then I guess I’ll have to order the SIM free version at apple.com and wait for it.

This is my main concern. I don't mind waiting, but I don't want to push my iPhone Upgrade date back two or three months when new phones come out in September. I'd have to wait that much longer or make early payments to jump back on the normal September cycle.

I'm going from a 7 to an 8+. I had a 6+ and enjoyed stepping down in size for a bit, but I miss the screen and more importantly the battery life. My plan is to wait and see the X mature a bit before I go down that road...

I currently have a matte black 7+ 128GB and after watching the Keynote wasn't planning on upgrading at first. Then after I did the math to determine how much more it would cost per month on my Verizon device payment plan and learned it would only be a little over $3 more, I caved and pre-ordered a space gray 8+ 256GB. Now I wish I'd done it earlier instead of waiting until the delivery dates had slipped by a week from the 22nd to the 29th.

That’s it I’ve cracked.
Just order a 8+ 256 in space gray and picking up tomorrow and nothing upfront, nothing extra a month and moved from 40gb to 100gb.

Also making over £100 on my old phone by selling it on. (After pay my network fees)

If I'm going to continue to make payments on a phone I might as well make payments on a new phone!

Besides, wireless charging, Bluetooth 5, true tone display, better speakers and improved camera are enough for me. Not to mention a much faster processor and GPU.
