I did try bulletin and it worked great. I deleted it because it drained my battery. I knew it was that app, because after deletion, my battery life imprppoved significantly. Go figure?

What app drained your battery? Bulletin or NCSettings?

Give LockInfo a try. You get a 14 day trial and it allows NCSettings to be displayed on the lock screen.

what I think is there needs to be someone smart to explain how every tweaks works, in simple terms for idiots like me, to better understand if and how much hit the battery might take! :)

as for SBSettings, I was surprised at how better the battery is now (has been like 1 month+ ?) after I removed it.

During the day, it is only iMessage with the Mrs and almost constant music streaming using MOG over Wifi, and random 9GAG and email over WIFI...phone WITH SBSettings would not get past 6pm to reach <10%...but NOW, I would still have >30% when leaving work....

I know this is just me, but it is significant enough improvement that I had to post it here....

and again, I hope there is a blog somewhere that informs casual users of how tweaks works and how it might use resources and I am sure most of us would be excited to learn to control our urges to install every new exciting tweaks that goes on Cydia! :)

This seems interesting, but the extra battery life to me seems weird.

SBSettings is a Mobile Substrate plugins and is much better than daemons because they do not use any additional CPU or battery (words from BigBoss).

How much real difference in battery life people have seen w/ this tweak? besides the TS that seems to mention it in all his posts. I still don't undertand how one drains less battery than the other, they are toggles, what drains the battery should be what you have set to ON and since there are more toggles available in SBSettings, I could assume that more stuff is being turn on/off more constantly.

So far, the only thing I see is that it has cool integrated sliders and minimalistic buttons. In SBSettings I have it themed w/ the iRetina++ icons and like it more than the icons for NCSettings, but those sliders sure look nice.

I think the battery claims here are the same as the claims people had of the fake tweak to improve battery life a couple of months back that turned out to be nothing.

It was bulletin that drained the battery. Thanks
I love ncsettings

I think the new update totally nails it! I honestly couldn't be happier with this tweak. It integrates so well and it's smooth. Definitely a solid replacement for sbsettings. I didn't use a ton of toggles so this is perfect.

just started using NCSettings instead of SBSettings. love it. does anyone know how to get the vibrate toggle to show the vibrate icon in the status bar? I thought this was an icon and feature that was part of LockInfo... but it doesn't show up when using NCS instead of SBS.

By default, the silent icon (in the status bar) in LockInfo is set to OFF. Did you enable it first?

Yea, the silent icon is enabled and working correctly. Im wondering about a vibrate mode icon I had before... maybe it was something in SBSettings.

DashboardX

Just an update to make NCSettings even more user friendly...it works with the new (paid) App DashboardX which allows the user to put widgets right on the springboard homepage.

Now, not only can users do away with SBSettings but can also do away with Winterboard unless you still like to theme. I have grown weary of themeing because it is always changing and developers are not keeping up with the multiple changes.

Now I just use DashboardX and put the widgets that I like and manipulate the icons with Springtomize2 and Gridlock.

Battery life is terrific and my phone is almost 2 years old:D

Screen Shot

Here is a screenshot using DashboardX with NCSettings @ top, Included Weather Widget, & IntelliScreenX Ticker Widget. To get the look, I have incorporated the amazing Springtomize2 and Gridlock for icon placing.

I do have one question...Does anyone know how to change the clock font in the IntellixScreenX Ticker???

How are you getting the color in the NCSettings widgets?

Thanks!

I tried out ncsettings and I really like it. I noticed it lacked a couple features that I like to have available like openssh (which isnt a deal breaker because I can live with it always on...not a big deal), a processes toggle, a method for freeing up ram, and placing free ram in the status bar.

Not being able to turn off SSH I'm ok with it. But I would really like a way to quickly free up some ram if I notice it getting low. Now I've read countless threads and articles debating whether or not having free ram is good or bad. But in my experience if I'm doing a lot of stuff, when I free up some ram my phone runs a little better and can sometimes prevent low memory crashes. I also like how sbsettings can place my free ram in the status bar. I have springtomize 2 and I know there's an option for free ram but I found two problems. One, it completely removes the time which I need in my status bar otherwise I have no idea what time it is. And two, I also noticed the ram doesn't change as it happens. I usually have to close an app or put my phone to sleep before the ram adjusts to the current amount.

I am completely open to persuasion here because I'd really love to switch completely to ncsettings but these are the only reasons I haven't switched yet. Is anyone else in the same position as me and if you are, what was your work around? I tried using ncsettings and omnistat with springtomize for status bar ram, but those two notification center addons used up more resources then sbsettings alone.

Also one last thing, can I still use Siri and assistant extensions to enable and disable toggles with ncsettings like I can with sbsettings? I love being able to use toggles via Siri while I'm driving. (Tonight when I get home I should probably just remove sbsettings and install ncsettings to find out myself but with so many people using ncsettings I figured someone here would know).

I love ncsettings and I want to switch. Any advice?

I really like NCSetting too.. I had been using both Sbsetting and NC settings, but when I restored my phone to 5.1.1, I didn't even re-install SBsettings.

Sure, I miss the openSSH toggle, remove BG, and a couple other toggles, but I'm still trying to convince myself that I don't need sbsettings anymore.

do vibrate and silent toggles interfere?

----------

what will 3g toggle vs data toggle do differently?

----------

sorry for another post, is there additional toggleS? not that i need any yet

i got rid of sbsettings, hope i won't regret it

I installed Remove BG and just tap and hold the status bar, thanks to Activator. This is my favorite workaround until NCSettings is able to clear all apps.
