I have been playing around with this feature for a few hours and have the following shortcuts set up so far.
80d50ca222a681db9c7456c6289a1a40.png

1) Music controls for playing my music mixes (get-up, favourites, music, chill) and select playlists. It's weird that new music mix is an option, but not the rest.

2) Quickly texting my friend when it's time to leave for work (we carpool with another colleague).

3) Calling home (to check what to pick up for dinner)

Otherwise, can't really think what may be useful at the moment. I am using the Siri watch face and have the Siri app replaced with the shortcuts app.

What about you?

Not using any shortcuts on my watch just yet. Actually I’m not sure what I’m gonna use it for to be honest.

I just got mine and this is the first one I’ve owned, so I haven’t yet, but these are some good ideas. I am going to have to play with them and see what I can come up with.

Yes, I set up a "coming home" text shortcut on my Infograph screen that I hit when I leave work to text my wife.

I used to use this on my Watch when it was still Workflow. I have a couple of shortcuts defined which are good to have ‘handy’. For example, I have a shortcut where I enter the amount of fuel I fill up and the mileage on the odometer to calculate MPGs and write this to a calendar record. I can do this on my iPhone but sometimes when in the car (stationary at the pumps 😁 ) my phone is in a pocket and hard to reach, so entering the data on the watch is more convenient.

As a related question, my Watch seems to show all my shortcuts rather then complying with the ‘show on watch’ flag on specific shortcuts. Is this working for other people?

I use it for my car.
I used to use the complication of the app for the car before. This short cut complication is more convenient.
Also, i created a short cut for a 15 minute timer for my breaks so that i dont have to scroll to get to 15 min timer on timer app.

I tried but failed. It was my first attempt to build a shortcut on any device so I wonder if I missed something.

I tried to make a shortcut to make more efficient use of complications. Instead of using two complications, one to launch the phone app and one to launch the messages app, I built a shortcut called "Comms" that was simply a two-element menu where pressing "Phone" launched the phone app and pressing "Messages" launched the messages app. I then set a complication on my watch face to execute that shortcut. Unfortunately it didn't really work smoothly because when I pressed the complication it prompted me as to whether I wanted to run the "Comms" shortcut and only after I pressed yes (or "run", I forget exactly) did it actually run and show me the menu. It did correctly launch the required app after that though.

I'm thinking though that maybe I might try to do a messaging shortcut. I'd like a "Sorry but I'm running X minutes late" message that I could send to someone who I have arranged to meet where I could dynamically substitute "X" for the number of minutes late I expected to be. I'll have to go ahead and research it but can any experts in shortcuts tell me right away whether the actions available are sufficiently rich to allow me to write a shortcut that would pick a contact from my contact list, prompt for the number of minutes, and then build the appropriate text message and send it to the mobile number of the selected contact?

(I'm actually quite considerate by the way and am very rarely late but I think it would be useful to have such a shortcut just in case.)

Are your shortcuts in watch folder?
Watch will show all shortcuts in Apple Watch folder.

They are, it shows 6.

But my Watch actually has 21, and that doesn’t include all the ones defined for the Watch!

Tried unpairing and repairing with no effect.

Any suggestions welcome!

ETA: resolved this issue, had to manually align all my shortcuts on my iPhone and iPad. I also turned on iCloud sync, though I’m not 100% iCloud is necessary.

I have an easy one. Toggle Always On Display. Might as well save some battery if I know I won’t be looking at the watch for a while. Say working in front of a computer with the time always displayEd and notifications already on the screen.

Not sure if there is a way to do the same thing with Siri.

I have 2 shortcuts to arm and disarm my security system at home.

Makes it so much easier when leaving/arriving not having to use the phone or the keypad at the door.

We can use iPhone to tap NFC stickers to do a task. Can we do that with Apple Watch as well? Let say I want to tap NFC sticker with my watch to activate 15 mins timer. Is that possible?

Is there a way to be notified when the temperature outside is a certain temp? Use case: need to close windows when it reaches 70, but when I am working I forget to pay attention to temperature gauge.

I have a shortcut to tighten and untie my Nike Adapt shoes. What’s annoying with AW7 is when you ask Siri to perform a task you have to press a confirmation on the watch to continue the shortcut. With AW6 it would just do it

The trigger and action can be automated but
It cannot trigger 24hours a day.
You have to set time.
So you could make this automation for every 30 minutes during the hours when it is likely to happen.
ie. 10:30 am
11:00 am
11:30 am
And so on.

Awesome I am going to try this and I’ll post back if I am successful!

I use a Laundry shortcut to remind me to check on the laundry when its done.
A couple of automations when I go to and leave work to change watch faces.

I took his activity and watch combinations and made many edits to do weekly and monthly steps and calories charts.. just search for activity charty in and there’s only one..
